The Ren & Stimpy Show: Veediots!

Once upon a time, I Richard Walker was watching the truly great Ren and Stimpy show on NickToons. After watching true 1990s greatness, I thought to myself, 'Hey, I wonder what the Ren and Stimpy video games are like?' So I took to the internet, and I found a few ROMs. As I'm an original GameBoy fanboy, I found a ROM for this game... Ren and Stimpy: Veediots! for GameBoy. I even found some box art for the game, and it looked OK, but I digress. THIS GAME IS LAME.

GRAPHICS- 3/10
Honestly, I don't think that the graphics in Ren and Stimpy: Veediots! are that bad(At least playing on my computer anyway. I think they would really suffer on my brick GameBoy). I can acknowledge that it does suck. None of it is enjoyable- it's dull, it's crap, it's... this game in general. I'm supposed to be talking about the graphics. Ren looks like he's wearing Mickey Mouse ears and black pants. Did I miss something or am I right in saying WTF? Do I care? Do you care? Anything but Ren is highlighted. On a classic GameBoy it would be hard to separate anything from anything as anything that isn't highlighted(Remember, that's everything but Ren) is in a stupid shade of grey.

MUSIC/SFX- 2/10
Listening to this game's music surely decreases your IQ a notch or five-hundred? They tried to stick in some of the themes from the popular Ren and Stimpy TV show... but it all suffered from being GameBoyfied. Trouble is this sounds so much more watered down than ANY OTHER TV-to-GameBoy game sound transfer I've EVER heard. Sound effects suck, naturally. Voice sounds of Ren make me laugh, but not because it's funny, but because it sounds almost nothing like him. Albeit, there is SOME resemblence... but not enough.

GAMEPLAY- 2/10
Oh Jebus. Ladies and germs, here is your low point.

Ren and Stimpy: Veediots! is a sidescroller which was obviously real popular in the early 1990s. You have the role of Ren, and you have to get from one end of the stage to the other without encounter Stimpy(?), and other crap hanging around. There is absolutely no other goal. You can collect money but in the end what the hell does that have to do with anything? Does anybody even KNOW? I must investigate one... when I have a few months to spare.

This game MUST be really challenging because I haven't see head or tail of a FAQ or walkthrough for this piece of crap... anywhere. It could be because the control sucks. JUST a hunch.

I think I'm being generous here, as some people have pointed out to me. Ren and Stimpy: Veediots! is one of the reasons why people complain about original GameBoy games. I feel for you if you bought this game... even for a penny. One-hundred pennies makes a pound, and one-hundred carts of this makes a steaming pile of crap. Bad control and bad gameplay creates bad temper. Bad graphics and bad sounds bad mental state. This is truly pathetic.
