Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan
Review by Megaman1981
"A fun game when you are a kid, but now.....it's TOO EASY!"
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the ultimate cartoon when I was a kid. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had their own T.V. show, tons of toys, and of course video games. They were released on the NES, and like so many other series (Mario, Castlevania, and Megaman), we got a handheld version for the Game Boy. While the game is a bit too easy today, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan was a fun game to play when you were a kid.
The gameplay was pretty simple for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan. You chose one turtle at the beginning, and make your way threw the streets of New York. If that turtle dies, you pick another one. Basically, that means that you get four lives for the entire game. While this may seem hard, it really isn't. Yes, the last two levels do have somewhat of a challenge to them, but the game is still a cakewalk.
The story is your basic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles storyline. Shredder has kidnapped April and the turtles must rescue her. You'll fight threw the streets and sewers of New York in order to save her. Along the way you will battle five bosses; Rocksteady, Bebop, Baxter Stockman, Krang, and Shredder himself. There are also cut scenes at the end of each level to progress the story along.
The graphics were okay when this game came out, but today they aren't that impressive. The turtles don't really have great detail, but some of the bosses do when they have been injured by one of the turtles. Basically if you damage Rocksteady or Krang, their eyes become all big and comical for a second. The music however is very catchy, and still sounds good today. As for replay value, this game doesn't really have any. There are only five stages, and each one takes five minutes. You can also start at any of the five levels. Still, this is a fun game, so sometimes a quick game like this can have a lot of replay value. In conclusion, if you see this game in a bargain bin, it wouldn't hurt to consider picking it up.
