Bo Jackson's Hit and Run! Baseball and Football

Review by The_Enthusiast

"Do you think Bo knows?"

Introduction
Bo knows baseball and football, but does he know it in this game? Well, let's find out!

Graphics: 5/10
The graphics in this game aren't very good. They look like stick figures in baseball, and in football, they look like dark squares running around and you can't see what you or the other team is actually doing! This part wasn't good.

Sound and Music: 8/10
The sound and music are suprisingly good in this game. I love the start up screen music. The sound fx is pretty cool whenever someone hits a homer, throw some one out, etc. The football part of the game doesn't really have much sound to it.

Controls: 8/10
The controls are pretty simplistic, and easy to figure out, it's basically directional pad to run, a to hit, and b to throw. In the football part it's directional pad to run, and b to throw the ball.

Game Play
In baseball, it's either swing, get lucky, or strike out everytime. When pitching you're basically just guessing because this isn't very strategic. The teams are all the same, and it's just weird. Bo only pops up and gives tips on what we can improve on during the at bat. In football, it's basically the same. The best way to get the ball down the field is to pass it deep. And that's not even very good, just the best option. It's either goes directly to a player or to the other team.

Replay Value: 4/10
Well, football really doesn't have much replay value, because it's not the type that makes you itch to play. The baseball part doesn't really have much to it either, but it has some. If you feel like you have to take the time to get the pitching and hitting to perfection (I don't know how, it's impossible to me.)

Overall: 6/10
Bo knows baseball and football, but Bo sure doesn't know what a game takes, or what a gamer wants. It was a fun game when I was little, but after playing it now, I can see all the flaws. But you do have to remember the era it came out on. Overall, it's a poor baseball game, but was probably the best portable baseball game back in that era, so respect that. I think I speak for everyone when I say Bo, stick to sports!

Rent or buy? If you're curious, just rent it.

Pros
+Good controls
+Good music/sound

Cons
-Bad graphics
-Unpredictable
-No replayablity.
