To be honest, I was actually surprised to find this in the FAQ Request
section. Little ol’ naïve me figured everyone knew how to play Solitaire.
After talking to a friend or two though, it was obvious that not everyone
knew how. So, with my trusty little Game.com in hand, I’ve decided to take a
break from my Wheel of Fortune 2 and Resident Evil 2 guides to whip up this
little FAQ for all the cardsharks waiting to be born.
Something to point out though, is that Tiger took some liberties with their
version of Solitaire, which I’ll explain in detail when merited. Let’s Begin!

a. Deck
- The Deck is your stack of playing cards. From here you will draw each
successive card when you can do no more in the Tableau. You can not access
any other card but the top one in this pile.
b. Drawn Cards
- When you can not use a card drawn from the deck, it is placed here. You
cannot access any other card but the top one in this pile.
c. Foundation
- These four slots represent the 4 families in playing cards. One slot each
for Spades (Black), Hearts (Red), Clubs (Black), and Diamonds (Red). The
objective of Solitaire is to get all the cards into the 4 slots, from Ace
up to King.
The card order for the Foundation is Ace, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10, Jack, Queen,
King. Only cards of the same family may be placed in the same pile.
d. The Tableau
- These are the 7 stacks of cards that act as your playing field. When
dealt, one card is turned upward, and then the rest face down. This step
is repeated until all 7 stacks have face up cards. In order to be
successful at the game, you will need to figure out how to access each
pile of cards that lay beneath the face-up cards.
Here in the tableau, the rules of order are also slightly different. Where
in the foundation it had to be same family to same slot in numerical
order, here it’s any family to any slot, but it must stay in numerical
order. However, the cards must be *alternating* in color. Meaning you will
have to keep the cards going black, red, black, etc. You can not
Place red on red or black on black.
For the Tableau, the order is King, Queen, Jack, 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,
Ace.
e. Slots
- When the stack of cards is used up, a slot is left. If you have a King
card,or a stack of cards that sit on top of a King, you may move them to
the blank spot. **In the Game.com version, you may also move them to an
empty stack.

Each game begins at –52 points. Each –1 point stands for one card in the
deck. For every card placed in the foundation, you will receive 5 points. You
will also receive 1 bonus point per extra second on the clock if you finish
before time runs out. Keep in mind that you can keep playing if time does run
out, you will just not have access to the bonus points. There are 240 seconds
(4 minutes) on the clock, so play fast!
The game is over when all the cards in the deck are drawn and no possible
moves are available.

a. Basic Tips:
- Always play out every possibility in the tableau before drawing a card.
After you draw the card and use, again, check to make sure you can no no
further combination.
- Since the Game.com is in black and white, you’ll have to remember the
shapes and colors of the cards mentally. Because the screen is only large
enough to show the bottom and top cards in the stack, you will also have
to instantly know what color/ the top card is just from looking at the
bottom card.
b. King me baby:
- The Tiger version allows you to place King Stacks onto card piles that
don’t have a face-up card.
c. Recycle the foundation cards
- You can use cards that you have placed in the foundation. This can help
when you need to get rid of the top card on the drawn deck so access the
card below it.
d. The highest possible score you can get without bonus time points is 208.
