Choose "from the beginning" + "1" + "Katakana" + "Nikku" + "end (bottom 
right)." After the scene, Chapter 1: The Expedition of Two Military Corps 
begins. On the battlefields, Nick's magic of return (8MP) can teleport the 
companions back to the town so if you are low on recovery items, I would 
suggest that you use the magic of return.

When there is a cleared data, hit the "DOWN" button repeatedly on the screen 
when the logo of "SEGA" appears to hear a chime sound, press the "START" 
button, and then the word of "EXCELENT" should appear on the right side of 
"Gaiden." When you start to play the game "from the beginning (#2)," it 
becomes difficult.

On the beach, don't move the companions of Nick, Loose, Shade, Wendy, and 
Apis, just let them search the back of the brown broads in the sand that are 
in front of them to find their weapons (Nick - wood sword; Loose - club; 
Shade - wood arrow; Wendy - wood rod; Apis - wood lance). Make sure to euip 
the companions with those weapons. After that, search the two barrels that 
are on the right and left side of the beach to find medical herb x2. After 
defeating the enemies, there is a scene, Clay becomes a friend. Move the 
pointer onto the shop (on the right), and buy short sword (100G) for Nick, 
spear (120G) for Apis, short axe (120G) for Loose, leather glove (180G) for 
Shig, bronze rod (140G) for Wendy, iron bow (110G) for Shade. Also, sell the 
old equipment, and buy medical herb x14 (10G). Give two medical herbs to a 
member. Leave the shop. Move the pointer onto the troop headquarters (on the 
left). Make sure to equip the comapions with their new equipment. Leave the 
troop headquarters. Move the pointer onto the exit (the middle) to leave the 
town.

The companions are separated into two groups. The Lizardmen are troublesome.
After defeating the enemies, there is a scene, and then Teddy becomes a 
friend. As a reminder, if a companion is LV9 or less, he or she cannot change 
occupation/class as yet. Move the pointer onto the troop headquarters (on the 
left), and choose "HLP" + "CHG" + "Nick" + "yes" to make him become a hero + 
"Loose" + "yes" to make him become a warrior + "Shade" + "yes" to make him 
become a sniper + "Apis" + "yes" to make him become a paladin + "Clay" + 
"yes" to make him become a master monk + "Bally" + "yes" to make him become 
a Bardorar + "Stock" + "yes" to make him become a bow knight + "Esha" + "yes" 
to make her become a wizard + "Teddy" + "yes" to make him become a berserk. 
The companions whose occupation/class have been changed are now at LV1. Equip 
Esha with the rod of defense. Leave the troop headquarters. Move the pointer 
onto the shop (on the right), and buy steel sword (680C) for Bally, chrome 
lance (1500G) for Apis, thorn glove (1200) for Clay, flail (1400) for 
Mayfair, great shot (5500) for Shade & Stock. Also, sell the old equipment, 
and buy medical herb x14 (10G). Give two medical herbs to a member. Leave 
the shop. Move the pointer onto the troop headquarters (on the left). Make 
sure to equip the comapions with their new equipment. Leave the troop 
headquarters. As a reminder, only 12 members can be chosen. Move the pointer 
onto the exit (the middle) to leave the town.

On the east side, there is a pond. From the tent on the right, move the white 
square pointer 7 places to the right and then move it 11 places upward. On 
the 11th place, move a companion to the right side of the pond, and "search" 
the third tree (counting from left to right) that's nearby on the right side 
the pond to find Domingo (magic creature), and to make it become a friend. 
Domingo does not have a occupation/class change. Bishop has the item of demon
rod (curse; absorb MP when you equip it; AP30: wizard/priest), and Sorcerer 
has the item of black ring (attack +10 and blaze LV2 when you equip it). Make 
sure the companions have open slots to get those items. After defeating the 
enemies, press the A button, and choose "yes."

Watch out for the magical mushrooms that grow for they will spread spores 
at a wide range at the companions making them sleep. The magical mushrooms 
cannot move. The items inside of two treasure chests are certain kill sword 
(lower left) and halberd (upper right). Equip Nick with the certain kill 
sword, and Apis with the halberd. Lizardman has the item of heat axe (blaze 
LV2 when you equip it), and Bishop has the item of ring of defense (increase 
defense by 1 when you equip it). Make sure the companions have open slots 
to get those items. Equip Loose with the heat axe. After defeating the 
enemies, Casshing become a friend, press the A button, and choose "yes."

At the begin of the battle, use Nick's magic of return to teleport back to 
the town. As a reminder, if a companion is LV9 or less, he or she cannot 
change occupation/class as yet. Move the pointer onto the troop headquarters 
(on the left), and choose "HLP" + "CHG" + "Wendy" + "yes" to make her become 
a wizard + "Casshing" + "yes" to make him become a paladin. The companions 
whose occupation/class have been changed are now at LV1. Equip Casshing with 
the halberd. Leave the troop headquarters. Move the pointer onto the shop 
(on the right), and buy recovery fruit x12 (200G). Give a recovery fruit 
to a member. Leave the shop. Move the pointer onto the exit (the middle) 
to leave the town. Golems who are hidden in the south and southeast area 
of the map will ambush the companions. Cleric has the item of evil ring 
(curse; attack +10 and sparks LV2 when you equip it). After defeating the 
enemies, there is a scene, Randolf (centaur - paladin) becomes a friend. 
As a reminder, if a companion is LV9 or less, he or she cannot change 
occupation/class as yet. Move the pointer onto the troop headquarters 
(on the left), and choose "HLP" + "CHG" + "Shig" + "yes" to make him become 
a master monk. The companion whose occupation/class has been changed is 
now at LV1. Leave the troop headquarters. Move the pointer onto the shop 
(on the right), and buy broad sword (1200G) for Bally & Shriek, great 
axe (5000G) for Loose & Gates, iron claw (4500G) for Shig & Clay, rod of 
defense (3200G) for Wendy, and recovery fruit x12 (200G). Sell the old 
equipment. Give a recovery fruit to a member. Leave the shop. Move the 
pointer onto the exit (the middle) to leave the town.

(on the right), and buy saint's rod (7800G) for Mayfair. Sell old equipment. 
Leave the shop. Equip Mayfair with the saint's rod in the troop headquarters. 
Leave the troop headquarters. Move the pointer onto the exit (the middle) 
to leave the town. On the lower right side of the map, there are three trees. 
Move a companion to the back of the third tree (counting from left to right), 
and "search" behind that tree to find Amigo (magic creature), and to make it 
become a friend. Amigo does not have a occupation/class change. The item 
inside of the treasure chest (upper right) is the sword of darkness (curse; 
soul steal LV1 when you equip it; AP35; hero/bardorar). Evil Bishop has the 
white ring (defense power +10 & aura LV2 when you equip it), and Geppel has 
the item of Atlas' axe (blaze LV3 when you equip it). Equip Loose with Atlas' 
axe. Reinforcement of Durahans will appear frequently on the upper left and 
upper right side. Geppel has 180HP. After defeating the enemies, there is a 
scene.

Woldol. Also, Rag has the item of sword of crushing evil (spark LV3; AP33; 
hero). Equip Nick with the sword of crushing evil. The sword of crushing evil 
will be the first weapon that gives Woldol damage. If you use Nick's magic of 
return to teleport back to town, the companion will restart from battle 21 
again. Woldol has 250HP. Reinforcements of Evil Bishops will appear from the 
north side of the room. After defeating Woldol, there is a scene.
