2. Introduction to Guide
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey, and welcome to yet another Squall Leonhart8 FAQ/Walkthrough, well the FAQ
sections need some contributors, but it's a walkthrough nontheless. Let me
start by saying I'm a HUGE Yu Yu Hakusho fan. Note that I spell it differently
than the title, because I've seen the show in English but this game was made in
Japan, where the spelling is with two "u"'s (Don't ask me why). To be frank, Yu
Yu Hakusho is simply the most amazing show ever to be created. It is personally
my favorite show and I think anyone who enjoys any form of cartoon would love
this action anime.
As for this game, it takes the form of a beat em up. There are stats for each
character but they are all equally balanced. You can run this game with no
understanding of the Japanese language, as well as with your favorite fighter.
*Sort of Spoilers*
Really quick note for those who are about to begin the final level, or for
anybody who is reading the entire walkthrough for assistance, do not pick
Yusuke for the final level. Ironically, it is impossible (due to Yusuke's
jumping skill) to beat the final level with him. However it IS possible to beat
the final boss with him if you die with another character directly before the
boss fight.

+ Yusuke *
* +
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Yusuke Urameshi is a 14 year old rambuctuous, troubled teenager who attends
Sarayashiki Junior High School. He is your typical badass, and beats up
on anyone and everyone, including his greatest rival Kazuma Kuwabara. Despite
his horrible reputation (and school attendance and grade marks) he has a girl
friend, but little else friends. Yusuke is beyond a regular asskicking teen-
ager, as even early in the story he proves his strength (and luck) by
fighting and defeating worldclass martial artists and monsters.
Yusuke is overall the best character. He has amazing moves and stats.
(Suprising, huh?)

+ Hiei *

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Hiei is an incredibly powerful fire/ice yokai whom's intentions are blurry
throughout beginning of the anime. He is the more-than-badass character thats
power matches that of Yusuke up until the end of the anime. Hiei claims to
fight only for his own intentions, however he has came through for his friends
during many occasions, especially for Kurama, his fellow demon.
Hiei comes in strong, with his only fault being his defense.

Kazuma Kuwabara is the Junior High School rival of Yusuke as well as his
best friend as they realize their powers. Kuwabara is often the butt of
jokes amongst the group, and is also constantly mocked by Hiei. He is
considered the weakest of the group, but consistently proves himself
in combat. He is cocky and has very unique abillities.
Kuwabara is portrayed average with a few goods and bads.

+ Kurama *
* +
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Kurama, otherwise known as Shuichi Minamino, is a former fox demon
who has become human after a fight with another demon hundreds of
year prior. He formed a pact with Hiei and Gouki, a fellow demon,
in the beginning of the story as enemies of Yusuke. They were all
defeated, aside from Kurama who spoke with Yusuke. Kurama eventually
teamed up with Yusuke during a later time. Kurama is very intelligent
and the most cool, calm and collected of the group. His power and
integrity matches his smarts, making him a valued assest to Team
Urameshi.
Kurama is personally my favorite character from the anime. In this
game his stats are low, however he is still quite good.

4. Walkthrough
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The walkthrough section of this game will be done a certain way. The way this
game is played lets you pick any character of the four above, and then a path.
Either: Path A, Path B, Patch C, Path D.
Because some people prefer a path or a character in particular, I will assign
each character a path, and each path a different character, that way you can
read about the path you need help with or the character you'd like to play as.
This as well makes it easier on me, considering I won't have to say "this
character", or "this move". I can use "Yusuke" or "Spirit Sword", etc.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Yusuke - Path A
---------------------------------------
Begin by choosing Path A from the starting screen. Head foward from the start,
staying in the middle of the screen. Two green demons will spawn and move
foward. Beat em up and head foward. Keep going taking out the next two green
demons, your generic punch should suffice. A white demon will spawn. Stay a
little bit up from the center, and make sure not to run into his blasts.
After this two blue fish looking demons will come for you. Stand still and let
them. Once they reach you punch them. Grab the coin that spawns foward, and keep
moving. Kill the other fish and keep going. Two red hands will try to kill you,
when they spawn up, punch them and wait. They will move horizontally towards you
each time, so just keep punching them. Kill the green demon from the back and go
foward. Grab the money bag and kill the green demons that try to attack you.
Watch for the white zombie demons. They are a pain in the ass and can take off
two life bars if you aren't careful. Punch him if you are close, if not, wait
for him to shoot, then go in for the kill. Keep up the same effort of killing
the weak green guys until you see a coin. Grab it and notice that the screen
stops scrolling.
More greens and zombies will spawn, so take them out. Another thing about the
zombies - Don't jump over their blasts. The blast will always hit you. The
next thing you'll see is a tree. Move below and next to it, so the blasts
won't hit you. Move up, punch, move down. Rinse and repeat and he'll die.
Kill the next one with the same strategy and grab the partially hidden
money bag. The screen scrlling stops, but stay in the center of the screen.
The fish will come, so stay centered an knock 'em out.
As you continue the fish constantly spawn, so move along dodging and hitting.
The little blue thing Puu, (or a doll of him) will sit tight on this part so
grab
him for a modest HP increase. Once you see holes on the background walls, head
towards the bottom of the screen as enemies will jump out. Beat up on the hand
and be evasive as well. If you can't multi-task this, just focus on the hand
and the blue fish should jump into some of your attacks. Kill the last one and
head for the boss.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Yusuke - Boss A
---------------------------------------
FIRST THINGS FIRST! REMEMBER YOU CAN CHARGE UP YOUR ATTACKS!
The first boss is a ghoulish looking creature. The boss in this level will play
out like this. You have a reticule aimed on the boss. You must aim it so it will
hit him. If you miss, you will do no damage. If you hit, be prepared to move or
stand. You will need to dodge his attack (which is quite tough to predict some
times) in order to keep going with your punches. It will require good reflexes
and a lot of luck, but then again Yusuke has both of these. IF you die, be ready
to sap some HP from your pals so you can continue this fight.
Here is his pattern:
Boss raises left hand = Move left.
Boss raises right hand = Move right.
Boss raises both hands= Move left or right.
Boss does nothing = Get lucky. I find standing will dodge this attack more often
consider when he stand still he will either attack left or right with his hand,
or left or right or middle with fire. So it's a 80% chance he'll miss.
You'll probably win so long as you don't get hit by fire. Once you do, check the
next screen. Let's pick Hiei next. Then Path B.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Hiei - Path B
---------------------------------------
We begin in a dense jungle. Keep foward but try to walk slowly, as a blue bat
will try to attack you. Jump and attack and after a few hits, they'll fly off
screen. Move into the pond and watch the moving puddles. Don't get to close.
A whale like creature with a horn will jump out. One slash should do the trick.
More will spawn, as well as a bat. Make your way out of the pond after killing
all of them. Grab the money bag and move foward until you see an orange
creature.
Attack him and his friend will spawn up from behind, kill them both. Be careful,
however, as when you attack them they will trick you by going off screen, and
then moving back. You'll know they are dead after three hits.
Keep going and kill another orange creature as you move on, then grab a coin.
You
should see pink flowers. They spit out some pink shit, so just slash, slash,
move down while it's charging, slash after spit. Directly after that, another
bat and orange guy will spawn. Jumpkill the blue bat and then take out the
orange guy. Keep going foward after that.
The next enemy you should see is a blue bird parched up on a tree. This enemy in
particular is VERY annoying. It swoops down and rushes in at high speeds in a
horizontal line. Your best bet is to take them one at a time, pressing the
attack
button at JUST the right moment. Head into another swamp after this. Same deal
as
before. More whales, so just stay in a straight line and swing as they come. If
they don't jump by the time they are very close to you, jump over them and
swiftly
turn around and attakck. Watch out for the bird from behind you, I'd say just
keep
running and he'll dissapear.
Keep going until you reach an apple. Grab it for a modest health boost and then
kill
the two orange guys. After that, move up a little and the screen stops
scrolling.
Kill yet another orange enemy and head up to kill the pink flowers. After these
three you'll meet the boss. Hm, this seemed shorter than last path.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Hiei - Boss B
---------------------------------------
FIRST THINGS FIRST! REMEMBER YOU CAN CHARGE UP YOUR ATTACKS!
This guy is different than the other boss. Here's his pattern:
Raises left arm: Head right
Raises right arm: Head left
Raises both arms: Head left or right.
Does Nothing: Same as before pretty much. Just get lucky. I say
stay in the middle. If you have good reflexes like myself you should be able
to see his attack as he is hitting the center, then hit right or left.
This boss is considerably easier than the other boss. He has more target spots
as well as easier to see/predict attacks. Also you can stay for most of his
attacks instead of moving. Only bad thing is that he has high defense.
After enough hits, he will die. Lets move on to lightning warding...
Nevermind just pick Kuwabara and Path C.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Kuwabara - Path C
---------------------------------------
Okay, we begin on a yellow road of sorts, and in my opinion it looks WAY too
futuristic for my tastes and doesn't really fit YYH. Regardless, head straight
and beat up on the robot that comes walking by. Kuwabara is awfully slow, but
can take a few hits, so take your time, beating them down punch by punch as
they continue to spawn up. Your best bet is to stay still as the approach, kill
then head to another row. Continue moving left. Some laser turrets are up ahead.
Simply wait for them to drop their heads, then hit them. Stay in a row you know
you won't get hit in because there are more turrets ahead.
You should now be at some conveyer belts. Run foward while on it and jump RIGHT
when you hit the hend of the belt. If you fall you'll take 3 bars of damage. The
next one will keep you still. Jump to the center and hold right. Kill the flying
robots and then jump carefully to the edge, and then the next conveyer belt.
Same exact deal as last time for this next bell.
When you get off, grab the apple and destory the turret. Kill the robot that
spawns next, the same way you did in the beginning. The screen will become
scroll
able again, so start moving. You'll see two mines. They are small, so time a
jump
kick to kill them. Keep moving, carefully jumping or stalling so the fire will
miss you.
Once you're finished grab the money bag and kill the robot that spawns up. As
you continue, you'll see another part EXACTLEY like the last part with the
mines and fire, except this time with a conveyer belt. Still fairly easy, just
be more careful. Once you're finished a flying robot will come by. Stay off
the next belt, and punch the flying robot as he comes in your range. Grab the
coin and continue. Defeat the rest of the robots for a boss fight!
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Kuwabara - Boss C
---------------------------------------
This boss is very weak. He has a low health bar, so I suggest powering up
your moves every attack the highest you can to beat him, and he'll be out fast.
Here is his pattern:
Raises right hand: Move left
Raises left hand: Move right.
I personally beat him before he could do a third move. 4 powered up attacks will
kill him altogether. I'm not sure if he does anything past these two moves. Next
up is Path D as well as Kurama. Pick them and lets move on.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Kurama - Path D
---------------------------------------
Next we will be in a cave. Very cool looking. Have Kurama jump as far as he can,
however he will still land in lava. Jump out and go to a bottom row and
continue.
Try to avoid the rocks, as they are difficult to hit. Kurama is the MAN when it
comes to ranged attacks so take out the yellow devil-demons and grab the money
bag. It will take around three hits. Keep going untill the screen stops. Stay
in the center of the screen and beat down all of the yellow demons that spawn,
then continue.
Grab the coin and rapidly attack the stupid looking bug demons. Keep going and
the screen will stop yet again. Watch out for the rocks and kill as many bugs as
there are. Continue and grab the coin. You will see lava with a platform in it.
Jump on the platform and feel free to take damage so long as you don't die. Grab
the grapes after this part to fully restore your health. Go foward on a path
with
no enemies. Grab the coin hidden by the end of the screen and a bunch of demons
will pop up! Kill them all the same way you have been. After that are two bugs.
After they are dead, make a careful jump over the lava in front of you. Stay
close
to it when you are on the other side and hit all the rocks that come at you.
They'll eventually stop, so keep going and two trolls will attack you. Take
turns
swiping at each of them, then go on evading the fire and stopping to kill each
troll. When the screen stops, kill the last two of them and fight the boss.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Kurama - Path D
---------------------------------------
As usual charged attacks are your friend as far as damage on the boss goes.
Keep that up every turn you can.
Here's his pattern:
Raises left hand: Move left
Raises right hand: Move right
Raises right foot: Move left
Raises left foot: Move rigt
Personally, I beat this boss within 4 of Kurama's attacks. Simply don't miss
and you can take him down easily. Path D's level is probably the easiest and
this boss is a pushover.
Once you're done you'll be back at the menu screen, prompted to choose a
character. Choose Kurama.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Kurama - Final Path
---------------------------------------
**IMPORTANT** Don't choose Yusuke. His jump is terrible and the level is NOT
beatable with him. If you want to beat the last boss with him, simply die
before you fight him. (Not during.)
This level play much more like a platformer than a beat em up, but its nothing
that can't be gotten used to.
Kill the two green slimes from Path A then climb up to kill the white zombie.
Keep going up until you reach the next screen. Head up and kill the tree. Reach
the top platform and the go up. Stay still. Kill the blue bugs that fall down
and jump over the hole in front of you, and the next and the next.
You will now be outside. The platforms are a bit tough to see, but just jump
foward and you'll land on it. Make sure not to get hit by the green slime.
Just take your time and you'll be O.K. Next part is the same sort of thing,
but this time, dodge rocks. If they get close to you, punch them away.
Don't bother with the apple just keep going left.
Jump on the orange platforms for this part. They will fall, so go quick.
Disregard the blue bird and DON'T go through the door. Instead jump up as far
as you can. This part is the part that is unbeatable with Yusuke. If you did
not heed my device, simply die and pick a new character. If you are doing it
right kill some zombies and go up. Jump on the spikes to get across and then
go up to the highest platform and jump.
Kill the troll in this room and grab the coin, and then head out. Jump up
the stairs, hitting all of the rocks, and then go up. Press up on this
next room. You be up to the boss.
---------------------------------------
Walkthrough - Kurama - Final Boss
---------------------------------------
Same old, same old.
Here's his pattern:
Raises left hand: Move right
Raises right hand: Move left
Moves hands a litte: Move left or right
Very easy boss. The same as usual, really. The smartest thing to do is to
just follow the rest of the boss guides and simply take him down like you
should. Plenty of special attacks will do the trick, and keep in mind that
you always have your buddies to back you up.
