Beavis and Butt-head

"You call this fun??!?!"

Well, I said it. This game is truly one of the biggest upsets. It just makes you wonder where they went wrong.

Storyline- 2/10

I’m surprised you can actually call that a storyline. What’s the main point of this game? Well, basically getting from point A to point B, and bam, you’re in the next stage! Its basically has the same storyline from the SNES and Genesis version of it, but this lacks. It informs you a little bit about a story in the beginning, but once you start, it all goes straight to hell.

Game play 3/10

Well, this is Game Gear, so the controlling is basic, jump and attack, simple as that. Nothing really interesting about this game except for the fact that if you happen to eat too many food (which gives you power) then you’ll find your fellow characters sitting on the toilet crapping, then it sends your power right back to normal. I admit, that’s slightly humorous, but come on! I think I worked hard enough for the power I’ve acquired, don’t flush it down the toilet (literally).

The game doesn’t have any difficulty settings. Instead you have to go through the game with the basic one that I should call “so hard that it’s not funny.” I swear this game has obstacles that are almost impossible to get through. You only get to be one of the characters, thats it. The one you didn’t pick will follow you through out the game.

Graphics- 6/10

This gets extra point given the fact that it’s a Game Gear. So you shouldn’t really expect too much out of it. It has a decent look sporting in a 2-D cartoon fashion, so really no problems here. But they should have really thought twice about the background. It’s like you’re passing through the same place over and over again! This really reminds me of that quote, “Why do I feel like we’re going in circles?”

Sound- 2/10

They get the two points for actually having something that came close to the Beavis and Butt-Head theme song, the rest just sound like fingers through a chalkboard.

Overall- 2/10

Rent or buy? None. I didn’t do either. Lucky for me that the game belonged to my brother so I was actually able to give it a try, being the Beavis and Butt-Head fan that I am. But as I continued through the game, I just hoped that the pain would stop.

But why would you even bother playing through it if it was so bad?

Well, we were on a 10 hour road trip for crying out loud, I had to do something!
