Intro
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mario Kart Super Circuit is possibly one of the greatest, if not the
absolute greatest, game on the GBA. It's also very well known. It's
the third game in the Mario Kart series, and the concept of the game
itself is very similar to the previous games in the series. You race
around using a Mario-related character of your choice, and get to use
items that will usually somehow improve your advantages. There's all
new tracks as well as remakes of the Super Mario Kart (SNES) tracks,
making a grand total of FORTY tracks. Wow! The graphics, sound, and
replay value are also absolutely wonderful! If you have a GBA but not
this game, you're missing out on a ton!
This FAQ is here to aid you through the normal tracks (all-new tracks to
the series) of MKSC. I've included a guide for one lap for most of
them. For the ones I haven't, I've still got some tips available.
Enjoy!

- First version; all normal tracks are covered, and thus the guide's
overall complete!
- As noted in the guides, if you have any ideas as to what I could put
in lap guides for tracks that currently have only tips (due to the lack
of anything to say), please email me at alxsthemighty@yahoo.com.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#1: Peach Circuit
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ When the race has begun, start by going forward and doing a sharp
turn to the right. Stay in the middle of the road, avoiding the grass.
~ Go straight to come to an item box and some coins nearby.
~ When you see the track swerve, make sure you're in the left lane so
you can pick up the coins there.
~ Move over to the right lane and you'll come to another patch of
coins.
~ Simply keep following the path, switching lanes to pick up coins and
collecting another item box that you'll come across.
~ Eventually, you'll come to the finish line.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#2: Shy Guy Beach
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Drive past the bridge when you're able to move and take the turn.
You'll find some item boxes, and after the next turn, some coins.
~ Keep following the dirt path and get all the coins you can. When you
come to water, just stay as far away from it as possible and you'll be
fine.
~ You'll reach another one of those strips that launch you across
water. MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY TOUCH IT, or else you won't make it to
the other side and will sink.
~ Now, all you really have to do is keep following the path; just stay
off the grass and out of the water. At the end, you'll reach a turbo
strip that shoots you across the road and over to the bridge where the
start/finish line is.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#4: Bowser Castle 1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ After the race has begun, take the obvious turn to get some coins.
Around the next bend are some item boxes and a bunch of coins.
~ As you move along, you'll come across those blocks that come down and
try to squish you. They're easy to avoid, and if you get positioned
under one, don't worry, because they are very slow and give you lots of
time to get away.
~ Keep following the path, avoiding the other stone blocks and getting
some coins if possible.
~ You'll eventually reach some fairly large platforms in the lava, one
of which has three item boxes on them. You don't need to worry about
jumping them because the game does it all for you.
~ One more turn and a little more path and you're done the lap!

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#1: Mario Circuit
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ When the race has begun, turn to the right and follow the path. Look
out for a patch of coins in the right lane.
~ Keep going and you'll find some item boxes and shortly after a few
coins in the left lane.
~ As you follow the road, stay in the left lane to come to another
patch of coins, then immediately swerve to the right lane to find
another patch.
~ Just keep following the path, and you'll come to a set of item boxes
and a patch of coins in the left and right lanes.
~ If you keep going you'll come to a fork in the road, where you have
the choice of going straight or to the right. Choose the right and
you'll find some coins and a speed strip that will bring you to the
finish line.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#2: Boo Lake
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ After the race has begun, go straight and turn right when the time is
appropriate, staying near the center of the track to avoid falling off.
You'll find a launch strip that launches you to the next platform, then
one more shortly afterwards.
~ When you're on this new platform, try to head swerve more over to the
right part of the track so you can use the turbo strip there for a
little bit of speed.
~ Keep following the path, and make sure you don't get too close to the
edge. When you come to a little square that is made up of two
different paths, it doesn't really matter which one you choose,
although there are more coins on the left path.
~ Shortly after this you'll come to a set of item boxes.
~ Just keep following the path. You'll come across one more situation
where you get to decide which direction you go in, but once again, it
doesn't matter because they both join again at the exact same spot.
~ From here on out, all you really need to know is that you should stay
near the middle of the path to avoid falling off, and soon you'll come
to the finish line.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#3 Cheese Land
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Just stay on the real road (the bright yellow, while the stuff to
either side of the track is orange and slows you down) and avoid the
mice, which are basically Cheese Land's equivalent of Shy Guy Beach's
crabs. Everything is pretty straight forward, and you really shouldn't
be playing this game if you need a full guide for this track :P.
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#4: Bowser Castle 2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ When you're able to move, go straight and make the obvious turn,
obviously
(:P). Follow the path and make the next turn. Swerve over to the left
to find
a turbo strip and some coins right after it.
~ The strip will launch you right into an item box.
~ Keep following the path and avoid the thwomps when you come to them.
When you get to the floor that is pretty much one huge grate, stay
either to the left or right to avoid the pools of lava.
~ Follow the path and stick to the middle so you don't fall off and
stay away from the single thwomp that you'll encounter.
~ Around the next bend is another pool of lava, so stay to one side,
and you'll come to some platforms that you can jump over too. Don't
worry about it, though, because the game makes you automatically jump.
After you've jumped all the platforms, you'll see a single item box,
although it's pretty out of the way.
~ Keep going and when you come to the next grated floor, stay in the
middle this time to avoid the lava pools and to also get another item.
Now, just keep moving along. You'll come across two final thwomps and
after that, you're done the lap!

-Lightning Cup

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#1: Luigi Circuit
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Begin by following the track. Try to stay to the right, as you'll
come across two puddles on the left side of the road.
~ Although this is a pretty lengthy track, there isn't really much more
to guide you through, believe it or not. Just make sure you avoid the
puddles (they're pretty easy if you're paying close attention), and
pick up as many coins and items as you can. You will also come across
a few sharp turns; try using the spin turn technique if you have
trouble.
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#2: Sky Garden
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Once again, I can't think of much to say besides a few tips. You
really shouldn't have much of a problem here if you just stay on the
real path; the clouds that border the track really slow you down if you
drive on them. To avoid falling off, just stick to the middle of the
track, with the exception of a little gap in the road near the end of
the track. In that case, just stay a little to the right, duh!
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#3: Cheep-Cheep Island
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ After the race has started, just begin by driving straight, crossing
the bridge and getting the coins that follows it.
~ After driving for a little while, you'll come to another bridge,
except this one's a little trickier. Plan ahead for your turn or else
you'll bump into the walls and loose time.
~ Just drive through this next island and you'll come to (*gasp*)
ANOTHER BRIDGE!!! Right after you cross you'll come to a set of item
boxes.
~ On the new rather large island you'll encounter the good ol' crabs.
Stay away from them and also stay away from the grass. You'll come to
a circle-ish strip of land right in the middle, forcing you to swerve
left or right unless you want to slow down dramatically. Definitely
take the left, as you'll find a speed strip there.
~ Keep going, just driving through about three islands. When you start
to see chickens, you'll know that the big bridge is coming up. Don't
worry, it's not that bad. It's just really... umm... big, and there's
sharp turns, and you can fall in the water if you're not careful. Use
the spin turn if you need to for the 90-degree turns, and stay to the
middle to avoid falling off. Before you know it, you're off! Whew!
:P
~ And now, really, you've just got a little bit left until you've
reached the finish line. No need to elaborate on it since it's all
just the basic stay on the path.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#4: Sunset Wilds
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Once again, begin by simply following the path. Eventually, after
crossing some sort of weird thing (is it water?), you'll come to three
item boxes.
~ Keep going and stay on the brightest colored dirt, where no real
danger awaits you... at least for now.
~ After a while you'll see a ton of speed strips scattered all over the
place. Be careful with them, 'cause they might launch you into one of
the little tipis. If this happens, a little man will pop out of it and
will cling to your racer for a little bit. Not only does he slow you
down, he makes you drop some of your coins!
~ From here on out, just stay on the brightest stuff and you'll be
fine. The end!
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-Star Cup
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#1: Snow Land
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Start by just following the path. Make sure you actually stay on it.
~ Try to stay as close to the center as you can, because that will
align you with a long line of coins coming up.
~ After you've passed the coins, keep going and try to stay away from
the snow.
~ In a little bit, you'll start seeing penguins on the side of the
road. STAY AWAY. Also, they're a warning to you that there are gaps
in the ice coming very soon, making it possible for you to fall into
the water, so stay away from those too. After you've seen the penguins
and made one little turn, swerve directly to the left. A huge chunk of
missing ice awaits.
~ Not much more to say. When you come to the next set of item boxes,
at least be aware that there's a speed strip off to the left.
~ Just a little more to go and you're done!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#2: Ribbon Road
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ This is yet another track where I really don't have much to give you
more than some tips. Ribbon Road is pretty lengthy, and be careful
with the turns so you don't skid off the track. You will come to two
instances where you must use two speed strips to leap over the road,
kind of like an intersection. Make sure you do this properly or you
won't cross it and will fall behind. Just get the coins, item boxes,
and put the speed strips you'll find scattered in a few places to use.
That's it!
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#3: Yoshi Desert
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Once again, only a few tips, because if you stay on the brightest
sand, you'll be fine. If you, however, manage to fall off the track,
you might even get eaten by some strange plant that lives in quicksand
whose name I do not know. So, yeah, that's pretty much all.
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#4: Bowser Castle 3
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ I am determined to make a guide for this track! Wahahahahahahaha!
~ Um, anyway, when the race has begun, start by going forward a little
then turning. Continue to stay on the blue path, not grating, and
you'll come to some coins and item boxes.
~ Around another 90-degree turn are two of those annoying little
thwomps. They obviously still don't have an IQ that isn't in negative
numbers.
~ Right past the thwomps is a mixture of floor and grating. Stay to
the middle to avoid falling off.
~ Keep going, more thwomps, keep going, a few large platforms, no
worry, the game once again does all the jumping for you.
~ From now on, it's just what you've already encountered. Stay to the
middle, avoid the thwomps of course, and you'll be at the finish line
in no time.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-Special Cup
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#1: Lakeside Park
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Being patient is very important. So stop squirming! I know you are
excited about the Special Cup, but you're gonna have to wait for the
race to start, whether you like it or not.
~ Okay, so now you've PATIENTLY waited for the race to begin. You can
start by going straight to pick up an item. Around the next couple
bends are some coins.
~ Eventually you'll come to a bridge. There's an item box somehow
suspended in mid air above a little of water. Get it if you want, just
remember to jump (R) immediately.
~ Right past the bridge, over to the left, are some more coins.
~ Keep going, getting the upcoming coins. Also be sure to avoid the
volcanic debris that will now begin to fall.
~ When you come to a complete U turn, brace yourself :P. It's possible
to make your racer hop over to the other side of the bumper stuff,
causing you to do a little back tracking and sometimes falling
seriously behind. Do a spin turn or something to avoid this happening.
~ Momentarily, you'll come to two speed strips that launch you across
the road. You shouldn't have any problem with them.
~ From now on, just keep following the path, getting item boxes, coins,
and avoiding the volcanic debris. Stay away from the bumpers, because
you never know if the game will put you on the other side of them or
not.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#2: Broken Pier
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Although it's a somewhat difficult track, the only stuff I could
possibly put in a guide for Broken Pier would be stuff a two-year-old
could spot. Well, maybe a really smart two-year old, but I really
don't need to make a guide for this track, and it's not because I'm
lazy. Just stay on the track and avoid the edge of the track as best
you can is all I can really tell you.
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#3: Bowser Castle 4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Stay on the actual track, not the grating if possible. Avoid the
thwomps, who, are of course, as stupid as usual. There's a new little
enemy that I don't know the name who you'll come across here, so avoid
them of course, as they will make you spin out of control. Stay away
from the pools of lava and don't fall off the track at times when you
can. And, finally, pick up all the item boxes and coins you can, of
course. That's all; see track #2 if you want an explanation why I
didn't make an actual guide.
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
#4: Rainbow Road
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
~ Look, people, I don't want you to get the idea that all of these
tracks are easy, because they're not. They're probably the hardest of
all the normal tracks, but these last three I really can't think of
anything to guide you through. Although Rainbow Road, which is
probably the hardest normal track (I can't get fourth or better), the
only things I have to tell you are: concentrate on staying on the road.
Use spin turns if you need to. Avoid the clouds, which will strike you
by lightning if you get under them. All of these tracks are simply a
lot easier said than done, so there's my reason for not doing the lap
guide.
~ After you've done this track and gotten fourth or better, you've
completed all of the normal tracks in the game! But it's not over yet,
you've still got those SNES tracks to go through...
*** If you have any ideas for a lap guide, feel free to email me about
them! ***
