Title: Breath of Fire (Advance) Dragon Item Locations

Updated Date: January 8th, 2002

Updated Material: The only thing I've had to change in this locator is
how you could reach the DragonSD without Nina's flying capabilities.
Sorry for any inconvenience, and thanks to those that e-mailed me to let
me know about this mistake.

Version: v1.1

Legal: If you link, copy this and/or use it for your page or send it in
to somebody else's page, I don't care, as long as you mention my name
in it (ie) thanks to Troy Cluff, you have this Breath of Fire Dragon
Item Finder. Whatever you want to put I don't care, just let me know
where it will be. You may also have to ask gameFAQS.com about using
it.

History: After searching for a long time for the dragon locations,
I figured that I'd help others out who had the same problem.

*Note: The reason it is important to get these items is so you can get
Ryu's (default name for hero) ultimate dragon spell, Agni, which
can be found in the cave where you went to get the Cleansing Water
for Romero when it had the problem with the zombies.

**Note: You need the Rod5 to get all of these items. The Rod5 can be
found the first time and any other time you go to Tunlan. Just go into
the palace, then head into the safe room and go to get the chest on
the left OUTSIDE of the locked room. You will find a hole in the ground.
Depending on how far you are in the game, you will either be forced into
it or you can go into it yourself. Find the box with the Rod5 under it
by pushing all the boxes and pressing A. If you push the box that lets
you out of town before you get the Rod5, just go back into the safe room
and fall into the hole again, but this time push the box that let you
out of town last, after you get the Rod5.

Dragon Items: Nina doesn't need the flying ability

First of all, the Slab that gives you a hint as to where you should look
for Agni is in the well near Tantar. Directions to get to it are here:
When you exit Winlan on the bridge, go on the path towards Tantar. But
as you go down the hill, head west instead of going east to Tantar. With
the Rod5 and worms equipped, head north after you go west and fish in
the well to find the Slab.

The Dragon Shield (DragonSH): Nina needs the flying ability

Can be found directly east of the hole leading into Gramor. You need
Nina when she is capable of flying. There are mountains completely
surrounding this well. Equip Ryu's ETC slots with 1-the Rod5 and
2-a Worm, (or more than one). Press A infront of the well to fish out
the DragonSH. You may not get it the first time you try, but you should.
If not, continue to fish here. If you still don't have it after quite
a few tries, there may be multiple reasons for this:
1-Make sure you equipped the Rod5, not a lower-level Rod.
2-Make sure you equipped a Worm (or worms).
3-You have more luck if you fish with more than one worm, so go to Auria
and buy an abundance of 9, then go back and attempt it again.
4-If you still can't get it after a number of tries, save your game,
shut it off then turn it back on. Go back and try again.
5-If none of these helped, you may have already gotten the item but
forgot about it. Check thoroughly in your inventory for the item, then
check your Storage. (Don't worry, I forgot that I already got the
DragonSD and tried to get it again)
6-If you still don't have the item, it doesn't mean that there is something
wrong with your cartridge, you are just extremely unlucky. You may want
to go back when you get an item called Shell. You will get the item
the first time you try, however you risk losing it and you sometimes need
it for another dragon item, the Dragon Armor (DragonAR).

The Dragon Sword (DragonSD): Nina DOESN'T need the flying ability

Can be found West of Karma. Just put Bo in the front of your party
and head West until you see the Well. Go down and do
what you did for the Dragon Shield (equip the Rod5 and worms), face
the well and press A to fish.

The Dragon Hat (DragonHT): Nina doesn't need the flying ability

Can be found near Arad. Exit the town and keep heading west until you come
to the mountains. Now, head south until you come in an opening in the
mountains. Head west and then south and find the well. Fish with the Rod5
and worms.

The Dragon Armor (DragonAr): Doesn't need the flying ability

Can be found in the town of Spring. Does not require Nina to fly. Can only
be aquired after beating Tock and the town's season goes back to spring from
winter, so you can fish as there is no ice. From the town entrance head west
and then find the stairs leading into the water. Jump in and head north,
until you see stairs on your the left. Go up them and walk to the end of the
dock. Equip the Rod5 and Worms and fish. Now here, the first couple of times
I tried to catch the DragonAR I didn't get it. So, I used the Shell instead
of the Worms as bait. Before I did this I saved the game. I got the DragonAR
the first try, but then I reset the game and tried it again. I got it first
try with Shell. I proceeded to do this procedure three more times and I got
the DragonAR first try every time, maybe I was fortunate, but I think that
you get the item every time using the Shell. I also tried using the Worms
for bait after I did the Shell test, and I got the DragonAR the first time
I tried fishing, I got it. So you may not need to use the Shell, but it's
easier.
