Need help getting more medals for those tough bosses in Wario Land 4,
especially in Super Hard Mode? Are you too lazy to look through other full
FAQ/Walkthroughs for tips on some mini-games? Well that is why my FAQ is here.
For both those reasons. And that I'm bored. That too. Anyway, onto the FAQ for
one of my favorite GBA games!

If you have something you wish to contribute, please e-mail me at
myukid@hotmail.com or you can instant message me with AIM at Junkkid52. Don't
try and ask me for a ROM, I bought the game, so I don't have the ROM.

Here is some basic information about the mini-games. The mini-games can be
accessed after you beat the "Hall of Hieroglyphs" in Entry Passage. Mini-games
cost 5000 gold to play. Before you destroy the Entry Passage's boss, Spoiled
Rotten, the mini-games cost only 2000 gold. After that though, it is 5000 gold
each game. The mini-games are held within the Mini-game Shop. There is one
Mini-Game Shop in every passage, the Mini-Game shops are available after you
beat every level in that passage. There are also three mini-games in each
shop, Wario's Homerun Derby, The Wario Hop and Wario's Roulette.

Q: "Where do you get gold to play these games?"

A: In the levels. Everytime you collect a coin or jewel, a number appears.
That number means how much the coin or jewel is worth in gold.

Q: "What is the point of mini-games?"

A: Mini-games can give you a little break from the game, it's levels and
bosses I mean. Mini-games can also give you medals that can buy items to help
you against bosses.

Q: "How do I get medals?"

A: You have to get a certain number of points in each mini-game to score a
medal. Information about how many medals you get is in each mini-game's
section.

Q: "What items can I buy with the medals?"

A: Check the Item Shop section

Q: "What's your favourite mini-game?"

A: My favourite mini-game is Wario's Roulette. Some people say it's really
hard and they lose quickly, but I find it quite easy. I guess I just have good
memory.

In this mini-game, you are a baseball bat and there is a pitcher. The pitcher
will throw the ball at you, and you have to hit a homerun with it. Sounds
easy, right? Well kinda. Three strikes and your out. This is my second
favorite game. Its fun, you get medals easily and is more complicated than
you think.

Q: "What are the controls for this game?"

A: Push A to swing the bat.

Q: "Lots of people say to turn the Gameboy 90 degrees before playing this
mini- game. Does that help?"

A: It depends really. Some people find it much easier when it's turn to its
side, but I find it incredibly hard to play like that, and a lot easier when
its the normal way. Its really up to you.

Q: "How far do you have to hit it to get a homerun?"

A: Just hit the ball anywhere but the foul zone to get a homerun.

Q: "Do your strikes clear after you score a homerun?"

A: Yes.

Q: "Can you lose if you get three fouls?"

A: Fouls count as strikes, but after two strikes, fouls don't count as a
strike.

Q: "People say that you can tell which ball the pitcher is going to throw
by the way he nods and shakes his head. Is this true?"

A: Yes. Here are how he pitches and ways to hit them.

- Nod, nod: Fast Ball/Stop and Go. The pitcher will either throw a fast ball,
which changes speed randomly mind you, or throw a ball that will go fast, then
stop in the middle and go again. Wait until the ball gets in the middle
between you and the pitcher, if it stops, it's a Stop and Go throw, hit it as
it goes over the plate. Same thing with the Fast Ball, except the Fast Ball
can really rocket towards you or go at you kinda slow, its speed is random.

- Shake, shake, nod: Slow Ball/Trick Ball. The Slow Ball has a random speed
like the Fast Ball. Hit it when it gets in range, and not before or it will
go right past you. Trick Ball is like a slow ball, but 3/4 the way to you it
changes into a Fast Ball. All I can say for this one is don't let it catch you
of gaurd, and that you will here a "Wheep!" When it becomes really fast.

- Nod, shake, nod: Disappearing Act. The ball will fly 1/4 the way then become
invisible, and continue to travel. It will appear infront of homeplate, and
travel a bit, that's when you hit it.

- Shake, nod: Curve Ball. The ball will go normal speed, and curve to the
right when it gets close to you. You have to hit it as it passes over home
plate, or you miss it.

Q: "How many home-runs do you need to make to get a medal?"

A: You need to make three home-runs to earn one medal.

Q: "Is there anything else to know about this game?

A: Every nine homeruns you hits, some cheerleaders will come out and cheer for
you, then go away.

Q: "Does this game change in Super Hard Mode?"

A: Yes, it has its own section below this one.

Q: "What's your high-score on this game?"

A: 23 Homeruns is my high-score.

It's the same thing as Wario's Homerun Derby, except that instead of there
being a pitcher, there's a cheerleader throwing baseballs at you. Her
movements are different, and here there are.

- Hips, arms, arms - Fast Ball/Stop and Go. Same strategies as the Fast Ball
and Stop and Go for regular Wario's Homerun Derby.

- Arms, arms, arms - Curve Ball/Disappearing Act. Same strategies as above.

- Hips, hips, arms - Slow Ball. Same Strategies as above in regular Wario's
Homerun Derby.

Q: "Is everything else the same in Super Hard Mode of Wario's Homerun Derby?"

A: Yes. Everything else is the same.

Q: "What is your high-score for the Super Hard Mode Wario's Homerun Derby?"

A: 13 Homeruns. This game is considerably harder.

Wario is running on a wheel in a desert. Why? Because Wario is one strange
guy. Anyway, you have to jump over the obstacles to continue in the game. It
starts slow, and gets faster everytime you jump over an obstacle that is a
multiple of 38. Example: It will speed up every 38 hops, then when you pass
76 hops it will go faster again, and after 114 it will go faster, and so on.
Hit any obstacles even once, and it's game over. This is my least favorite
game, as it gives out the least medals and you can lose very easily.

Q: "What are the controls for this game?"

A: A button is to jump over obstacles.

Q: "Every time you pass 38 obstacles and it gets faster, do you jump higher?"

A: No, you must time your jumps correctly.

Q: "How many times do you have to jump over an obstacle to get a medal?"

A: You have to jump over 15 obstacles to get a medal.

Q: "What does that white bird do when he flies to you in the game sometimes?"

A: Nothing I think. Though when he flies to you, no obstacles come for a while
giving you a little break.

Q: "Are there any Easter Eggs in this mini-game?"

A: When you jump over an obstacle, they make a sound and do a different action
when they are behind you.

Q: "Is there any other way to tell when the speed increases next to the
multiples of 38?"

A: When you jump over the drummer boy and when the terrain in the background
moves faster, those are other ways to tell when the speed increases.

Q: "Does this game change in Super Hard Mode?"

A: No.

Q: "What's your highscore on this mini-game?"

A: 114 jumps. I know its crazy, but I didn't think I'd get that far, and I did
by luck somehow.

In this game, Wario will be in a barber shop about to get his hair cut. Look
at Wario's face. Remember what it looked like. The face comes in three parts,
eyes, nose and lastly mouth. Then a roulette appears. You have to choose the
same combonation of eyes, nose and mouth in that order.

Q: "What are the controls for this game?"

A: A is to select a part of the face.

Q: "How many faces do you need to get correct to get a medal?"

A: You need to get three faces correct to earn a medal.

Q: "Does the game get harder over time?"

A: Yes. Every face you get right, the time you are given to memorize the face
shortens a little. After ten faces, it goes back to the speed it was at the
beginning of the game, but you get four eyes, four noses and four mouths to
choose from, then it gets faster gradually. Another ten and you get five eyes,
five noses and five mouths, and it repeats over and over. You get one face
wrong and it's game over.

Q: "Do you have any tips for remembering the faces?"

A: Yes. when you look at the face, think of a word that can be easily used to
describe it. Heres and example.

You get Wario's eyes, a large nose with nosehair in it, and an old, wrinkly
mouth. Think of words you can associate with them.

Wario's eyes = Wario
Large nose with nosehair = Large Nosehair
Old, wrinkly mouth = Old

I thought of this way when I took a trip with my mom to Bosnia in the summer
of 2002, and when I came back, appearently other people thought of this way
too. I guess great minds think alike :D.

Q: "Does this game change in Super Hard Mode?"

A: Yes, your given less time to see the face than in every round.

Q: "Why is this your favourite mini-game?"

A: It gives out medals quite easily, and its fun. Plus, I'm really good at
it :P.

Q: "What is your high-score in this mini-game?"

A: I got 38 correct faces in this mini-game. And in Super Hard Mode too,
beleive it or not. I guess the method I described does work o.0.

Ah, now were getting to the part where you can use the medals. To get to the
Item Store, go into a Boss Room. In the middle of the gate where to fight the
boss and the exit, there is a room labelled 'Item Shop' press up to enter it.
The medal prices also get higher for the harder difficulty. I recommend using
items in every boss battle, even in the Normal Mode ones, so you can win
quickly and get all of the treasures for the best ending. And the costs of
items increase for the harder the difficulty. The costs are...

NORMAL MODE!
============

Apple Bomb - 2 Medals. The weakest item in the game, it doesn't do alot of
damage. That's also why it's the cheapest.

Blast Cannon - 2 Medals. It does about the same damage as apple bomb, but may
do a little more.

Vizorman - 4 Medals. Though cheap, it is highly effective against the Spoiled
Rotten boss. Good against other bosses too.

Bugle - 6 Medals. It does the same amount of damage as Vizorman, but costs
more, so you should just stick with Vizorman if you want to use the weaker
items.

Smile - Smiles are free!

-The items below only become available after you defeat Spoiled Rotten-

Black Dog - 10 Medals. This item does a lot of damage to any boss, but it is
best used against Aerodent.

Large Lips - 10 Medals. This item does a lot of damage to any boss, but it
works best against Cractus.

Big Fist - 10 Medals. This item does a lot of damage to any boss, but for best
