Shining Soul is a action/beat-em-up/RPG type of video game released for the
Game Boy Advance on September 23, 2003 by Sega and Atlus Co.
The game is simple, kill enemies, gain experience, become stronger so then
in turn, you can kill more enemies faster and then gain more experience... to
become stronger... to kill more enemies and gain more experience. Then a
little story and plot is added and a few characters and you have yourself
a game that you can spend hours and hours and hours playing. These types
of games are very fun to play with friends... find
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for Gamecube, Playstation and the Xbox for a
multiple player game that is similar to this... very fun.
This FAQ/Walkthrough will show you which characters are worth playing with,
which weapons to use, how to get through levels and dungeons, how to defeat
bosses and how to use the souls. There is also a top-notch FAQ section.

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Ok you'll realize while playing Shining Soul that this wasn't exactly the
most planned-out game ever created. There are a few quirks that you should
know about, either they were intentional or simple mistakes. Either way they
are in the game and you have to deal with them.
-Active Game Menus-
What I mean by active game menus is that the game is always in play EVEN
when you are in the status or item menus. If you want to look into your
inventory or character status menu, you had better find a safe place because
enemies can still attack and kill you while you are fooling around in the
menus.
-Poor Plot-
You are really just sort of thrown into this world with a generic story.
The "Evil Dark Dragon" is amassing a "Dark Army" and you must stop him
before he conquers the entire world with his "Dark Army". Ouch.
-Save Skill Points-
There are some skills that are just not worth your time. You need to save
your skill points and allocate them into useful skills. Read the character
section to see which skills are the best.
-One Way Dungeons-
You can leave town and instantly travel to the dungeon of your choice but
you can not leave the dungeon and head back to town unless if you defeat the
boss of the dungeon or if you use the Angel Wings item. The Angel Wings item
can be costly in the beginning of the game but make sure you can spare to have
at least one on you at all times.
-Saving your Game-
Ok there's only one way to save your game. Hit start, press down and select
[END]. It will "save" and then ask if you want to continue playing. If you
continue, it won't save your game. If you choose not to continue then your
game is lost. I learned that the hard way.
Ok let's go through a scenario now of another way that I lost a large amount
of progress due to the stupid save system. Say you use the Angel Wings
item to get back to town from a dungeon. Now you save it, and of course you
turn it off so it ACTUALLY SAVES. Then you boot up the game again and the
angels are not there to bring you back to where you left off in the dungeon.
So you didn't lose any memory, you just lost your ticket back to the dungeon,
no matter how far you were in the dungeon. It is a big pain in the neck.
-Equipping Armor and Weapons-
Every armor and weapon in the game has a minimum requirement of strength
that you must have to equip it. Also, only certain characters can equip
certain weapons and armor. If you cannot equip an item, hit the select
button on it in the inventory menu and you will see whether you need more
strength or whether you can equip it at all.
...............................................................................
[]= 4 =[] CONTROLS []= 4 =[]
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Since the fighting in Shining Soul is always active, you have quick slots to
place your items and weapons into so during a battle you do not have to enter
the menu and equip a different spell or weapon or to use an item. The quick
slots for weapons and spells is activated by hitting the L shoulder button
until you highlight which weapon or spell you want. The quick slots for
items is used in the same fashion. To place items/weapons/spellbooks into
the quick slots, you must be in the inventory menu. Then select an
item/weapon/spellbook and place it in the correct quick slot. Then during
gameplay just hit B to use the items and A to use the weapon or spell.
BUTTON PURPOSE
A Attack with selected Weapon or Spell
B Use Item selected in Item Quick Menu
Start Menu Selection
Select Views Descriptions of items in inventory
L Shoulder Attacks Menu for Weapons and Spells
R Shoulder Quick Menu for Items
Directional Pad Character Movement (Can face 8 different directions)
You can face and move in 8 different directions. If you are attacking an
enemy and the enemy is in range but you are not hitting the enemy, then
move away and try to position yourself or the enemy into a better
direction and attack once again. Often it might look like you are able to
hit the enemy, but the game is silly and will not let you.

1)Sword
Level 0 - N/A
Level 1 - The warrior dashes forward and swings his sword for slightly
increased damage.
Level 2 - You dash forward and the damage is around 2.0x from your
normal attack.
Level 3 - You dash farther than Lv 1 and Lv 2 and you attack several more
times at around 2.0x - 2.5x the normal damage.
Level 4 - Dashing at a considerable distance, you attack about 5-10 times
dealing out damages 2.0x - 3.0x the normal damage.
Level 5 - The warrior dashes at an even farther distance, attacking anything
that falls in his path while attacking at 2.5x - 3.5x the normal
damage.
2)Axe
Level 0 - N/A
Level 1 - The axe is spun in a circle attacking anything within its
distance for normal damage.
Level 2 - The axe is spun in a circle for 1.0x - 1.5x the damage.
Level 3 - The axe is spun in a circle for 1.5x - 2.0x the damage.
Level 4 - The axe is spun in a circle for 2.0x - 2.5x the damage.
Level 5 - With incredible force, the axe is spun in a complete circle which
befalls any enemy within its death zone a complete 2.5x - 3.0x
the normal damage!
3)Spear
Level 0 - N/A
Level 1 - The warrior thrusts the spear twice for 1.0x - 1.5x the normal
damage.
Level 2 - The warrior thrusts three times with his spear for 1.0x - 1.5x the
normal damage.
Level 3 - The warrior thrusts four times with his spear for 1.0x - 1.5x the
normal damage.
Level 4 - The warrior thrusts five times with his spear for 1.5x - 2.0x the
normal damage.
Level 5 - The warrior who masters the use of the spear will find that he can
thrust his spear 6 times in the time it takes an amateur to thrust
once or twice. The damage of each one of these attacks will be at
least 1.5x - 2.0x the normal damage.
4)Defense Build-Up
Defensive Build-Up was tested by giving the warrior a defensive rating of
exactly 50. Every time the defense build-up skill was increased, the
defensive rating would raise by 5 (10% increase). According to a rumor,
a level 5 Defense Build-Up skill would give the player a 1.5x defensive
boost which can be equated to 150%. If each level increases by 10% then it
is true and a level 5 master of the Defense Build-Up skill has a 150%
defense rating.
Level 0 - Defensive rating remains at a normal level at 100%.
Level 1 - The defensive rating increases by 10% for a total of 110%.
Level 2 - The defensive rating increases by 10% for a total of 120%.
Level 3 - The defensive rating increases by 10% for a total of 130%.
Level 4 - The defensive rating increases by 10% for a total of 140%.
Level 5 - The defensive rating increases by 10% for a total of 150%.
5)Efficacy
This skill increases the amount of health that healing items restore. I will
list how the three main healing items and how they increase with each level.
Level 0 - All healing items remain at normal healing power.
Herb - 30
Healing Drop - 100
Healing Water - 300
Level 1 - All healing items slightly increase in healing power.
Herb - 42
Healing Drop - 140
Healing Water - 420
Level 2 - All healing items slightly increase in healing power.
Herb - 54
Healing Drop - 180

Level 4 - All healing items slightly increase in healing power.
Herb - 78
Healing Drop - 260
Healing Water - 780
Level 5 - All healing items slightly increase in healing power.
Herb - 90
Healing Drop - 300
Healing Water - 900
6)Mental Power
There has been no solid data to prove that this skill actually reduces
damage. It has been tested many times at all 5 levels of proficiency
against a monster doing the same damage over and over and over again
using codes so that the player would not die. The thing concluded was
that a teal shield would appear over your character when this skill was
successful in reducing damage against attacks.
The teal shield appears more often when you have the mental power skill
increased to higher levels. From this small information one can assume
that the damage is always reduced by the same number but at an increasing
chance to activate with higher levels. I would guess that the chance to
activate the shield increases by 5% with each level because that seems to
be the uniform or standard protocol of skill increments in this game.
Email me if you have a theory otherwise!

= Warrior Synopsis =
--------------------
The warrior is a master at survival and balance. Utilizing both speed and
brute force, the warrior can either figure his way in and/or out of most
situations. The warrior can increase the amount of health that healing items
restore, he can better utilize the armor than other characters and he can
attain a higher armor rating with his Defense Build-up skill. If you choose
a character other than the warrior and you are finding the game difficult then
consider starting a game using the warrior instead.
You can completely maximize 6 skills in Shining Soul. It takes 15 points
to master one skill and you get a total of 98 points through out the game
granted that you get to level 99. 98/15 is 6.53 therefore you can only master
6 skills.
My recommendation for the warrior is to drop mental power and one weapon
skill. That leaves 6 skills to maximize. I recommend that you at least keep
the spear skill because you can choose to attack exactly where you want
as oppose to the axe and sword skill which gives you little control. The spear
attacks one target up to 6 times! More on the spear later. Save the Defense
Build-Up skill for later in the game when you have a high enough defensive
rating for it to have much of an effect. In the first few level ups put your
points into efficacy and weapons. In the early-middle to middle of the game
put your skill points into your resistance skills. The rest of the game should
be focused on a balance of slowly master all remaining skills. The warrior
should focus on raising STR over DEX or VIT. If you are dying too frequently
then increase VIT. If you find yourself having trouble to hit enemies then
raise DEX.
Spear over Sword or Axe
Let's say you do 10 damage every single attack.
The axe skill mastered will give you one hit at 2.5x - 3.0x the damage so
that is at max 30 damage.
(1 hit at 10 damage x 3.0 = 30 total)
The spear skill, when mastered will give you 1.5x - 2.0x the damage but SIX
times over.
(6 hits at 10 damage = 60 x 2.0 = 120 total)
Therefore the spear (ideally) does 4 times the amount of damage that the axe
or sword skill does.
Warrior's Best Equipment

While these items may not have the highest defense or attack, their
special effects will make up for it. This is the best set of equipment
that you can hope for.

Level 5 - Spanning across the entire screen, the bow and spear projectiles
fly a full 7 character body lengths.
4)Critical
Since there is no absolute way to calculate exactly your chance of landing
a critical hit, I have just put each level into three tests of 10 shots.
Attacks that missed did not count towards the 10 shots.
Level 0 - 1 critical in 10 shots
0 critical in 10 shots
0 critical in 10 shots
(TOTAL: 1 critical in 30 shots = 03% chance)
Level 1 - 3 critical in 10 shots
0 critical in 10 shots
2 critical in 10 shots
(TOTAL: 5 critical in 30 shots = 17% chance)
Level 2 - 2 critical in 10 shots
2 critical in 10 shots
2 critical in 10 shots
(TOTAL: 6 critical in 30 shots = 20% chance)
Level 3 - 2 critical in 10 shots
1 critical in 10 shots
4 critical in 10 shots
(TOTAL: 6 critical in 30 shots = 20% chance)
Level 4 - 0 critical in 10 shots
2 critical in 10 shots
4 critical in 10 shots
(TOTAL: 6 critical in 30 shots = 20% chance)
Level 5 - 3 critical in 10 shots
2 critical in 10 shots
2 critical in 10 shots
(TOTAL: 7 critical in 30 shots = 23% chance)
5)Healing
Level 0 - The Archer has no natural health regeneration.
Level 1 - The Archer's health refills at 1 HP every 6 seconds.
Level 2 - The Archer's health refills at 1 HP every 5 seconds.
Level 3 - The Archer's health refills at 1 HP every 4 seconds.
Level 4 - The Archer's health refills at 1 HP every 3 seconds.
Level 5 - The Archer's health refills at 1 HP every 2 seconds.
6)Anti-Flying
To figure the exact increments for this skill I did 10 attacks per
level and then averaged each one to find the average attack per level
against a purple bat in the second dungeon. I greatly increased my
attack to produce more digits and in turn reap accurate data.
Level 0 - Average damage 159.1
Level Increase of = 00% (Normal Attack)
TOTAL Increase of = 00% (Normal Attack)
Level 1 - Average damage 181.1
Level Increase of = 12.2%
TOTAL Increase of = 12.2%
Level 2 - Average damage 215.7
Level Increase of = 16.1%
TOTAL Increase of = 28.3%
Level 3 - Average damage 242.7
Level Increase of = 11.2%
TOTAL Increase of = 39.5%
Level 4 - Average damage 277.2
Level Increase of = 12.5%
TOTAL Increase of = 52.0%
Level 5 - Average damage 322.4
Level Increase of = 14.1%
TOTAL Increase of = 66.1%
7)[FIRE] Resistance
Level 0 - The archer's resistance to all forms of fire and heat magic
remains at the natural rating of 0.
Level 1 - The archer's resistance is increased to the rating of 15.
Level 2 - The archer's resistance is increased to the rating of 30.
Level 3 - The archer's resistance is increased to the rating of 45.
Level 4 - The archer's resistance is increased to the rating of 60.
Level 5 - The archer's resistance is increased to the rating of 75.
8)[ICE] Resistance
Level 0 - The archer's resistance to all forms of ice and cold magic
remains at the natural rating of 0.

= Archer Synopsis =
-------------------
The Archer can be the greatest character in the game if he is carefully
used. Every skill that the archer has is useful and each first step from
level 0 to level 1 has a large effect. I would start out by putting 1
skill point into Bow, then Healing, then Critical, and then Spear. After
that work on getting Leap up to at least level 2. Then start on increasing
Bow, Spear and Healing equally. Healing is very useful because you are
just constantly regaining hit points. The [FIRE] RES and [ICE] RES skills
should be raised when necessary. As far as that Anti-Flying skill goes...
only 1/4 of the game's enemies are of the flying type and they are weak
compared to the other monsters that you could also be attacked by so it's
ok if you just ignore that skill, maybe raise it one level if you feel
you must. STR is most likely the skill you'll want to raise the most
with the archer however if you die too often then raise VIT for a bit.
You can completely maximize 6 skills in Shining Soul. It takes 15 points
to master one skill and you get a total of 98 points through out the game
granted that you get to level 99. 98/15 is 6.53 therefore you are only able
to master 6 of the 8 skills.
Bow vs Spear
Bows fire faster than spears but spears will pierce (travel through) a large
group of enemies where arrows from bows will hit an enemy and stop. Most
spears have a higher attack rating than bows however the bow charge attack
is much better than the spear charge attack.
Let's say that you are attacking an enemy and your bow and spear will both
attack for 10 damage and you have mastered both bow and spear skills.
The level 5 spear charge attack will hit for 10 damage for, at maximum, 3.5x
will total 35 damage points.
(1 hit at 10 damage x 3.5 = 35 total)
The level 5 bow charge attack will hit 7 times at 10 damage for 70 damage
points.
(7 hits at 10 damage x 1.0 = 70 total)
According to the previous data, I would recommend mastering the bow skill
but still having the spear skill around level 2 just in case.

1)Axe
Level 0 - N/A
Level 1 - The axe is spun in a forward-moving clockwise swing attacking
anything within its distance for 1.0x to 1.5x the normal damage.
Level 2 - The axe is spun in a forward-moving clockwise swing, which attacks
anything within its distance for 1.5x to 2.0x the normal damage.
Level 3 - The axe is spun in a forward-moving clockwise swing attacking
anything within its distance for 2.25x to 2.75x the normal damage.
Level 4 - The dragonmute wields the axe and attacks with the same pattern
as the previous levels yet the damage is 2.75x - 3.0x the damage.
Level 5 - The powerful dragonmute spins the axe within his death zone and
severely damages any enemy within it for 2.75x - 3.75x the damage!
2)Flail
Level 0 - N/A
Level 1 - The flail attacks for 1.0x - 1.5x the normal damage.
Level 2 - The flail attacks for 1.25x - 2.0x the damage of a normal attack.
Level 3 - The flail attacks for 1.75x - 2.5x the normal damage.
Level 4 - The dragonmute spins the flail and brings it down upon his enemy
for 2.0x - 2.75x the damage.
Level 5 - The flail is spun wildly above the dragonmute's head before it
comes crashing down onto its target for 2.25x - 3.25x the damage.
3)Break Armor
Break armor diminishes the armor/defensive rating of your enemy with every
successful hit that you land on the enemy. I did extensive testing to find
exact values but damage is calculated by chance in these sort of video games
so keep in mind that the values are NOT 100% accurate but simply a good
estimation of the change in damage.
At each level of break armor I would hit the same type of enemy and record
5 times when the damage actually increased on the second hit. (Sometimes
the damage would lessen at the second hit so I ruled those trials out as
inconclusive.) Each level of break armor did not increase the damage (a
likely by-product of the enemy's defense lowering) significantly so I deem
this skill useless! The level increments were not even noticeable.
Level 0 - Damage Increased by 10.68% on the second successful attack.
Level 1 - Damage Increased by 20.70% on the second successful attack.
Level 2 - Damage Increased by 17.84% on the second successful attack.
Level 3 - Damage Increased by 14.62% on the second successful attack.
Level 4 - Damage Increased by 17.65% on the second successful attack.
Level 5 - Damage Increased by 18.35% on the second successful attack.
4)Emit
The emit skill will allow you to counter-attack your enemies attacks. With
each level of emit, the chance to counter-attack theoretically increases.
A test was performed and the data is as follows. This is an excellent skill
but any increase pass level 2, according to this data, would be a waste!
Level 0 - 0 of 10 successful enemy attacks resulted in a counter-attack.
Level 1 - 4 of 10 successful enemy attacks resulted in a counter-attack.
Level 2 - 8 of 10 successful enemy attacks resulted in a counter-attack.
Level 3 - 4 of 10 successful enemy attacks resulted in a counter-attack.
Level 4 - 1 of 10 successful enemy attacks resulted in a counter-attack.
Level 5 - 4 of 10 successful enemy attacks resulted in a counter-attack.
5)Def Build-Up
Level 0 - Your Defensive Rating remains at 100%
Level 1 - Your Defensive Rating increases to 110%
Level 2 - Your Defensive Rating increases to 120%
Level 3 - Your Defensive Rating increases to 130%
Level 4 - Your Defensive Rating increases to 140%
Level 5 - Your Defensive Rating increases to 150%
6)Undead
Every skill in Shining Soul works off of similar figures and numbers.
For instance Most skills will increase by 10-25% in their category and
most attacks will increase around 50% in damage per level. Therefore using
this theory with this Undead Skill and the Archer's Anti-Flying skill, one
can assume that they are based on the same numbers and figures. THEREFORE
goto the Archer's Anti-Flying skill and pretend that it says Undead at the
subject line and you should have an excellent guess at what the Undead skill
does! (Search for "6)Anti-Flying" within this document to quickly find it.)

-----------------------
= Dragonmute Synopsis =
-----------------------
The dragonmute is the most physically powerful character/class in the
game with the game's most powerful weapons at his disposal. This
character however makes up for his brute force by lacking in areas that
other characters have an advantage in.
The axe should be picked over the flail because you move forward when
you swing which attacks more enemies and could move you out of danger.
Break armor I did not find useful at all. If you absolutely have to have
that skill, then only put it to level 2. The Emit skill is one of the
most useful skills in the game. Having an automatic counterattack at
enemies is very useful and handy. The defense build-up skill should also
be raised later in the game once you have enough defensive points to work
with (The 10% bonuses will not have much effect on low defense ratings).
There is a noticeable amount of undead in the game so putting that skill
up a level or two would not hurt. I support raising the magical
resistances at a steady pace throughout the game. So be sure to put some
points into fire and lightning resist! So focus on raising Axe, Emit,
Fire and Lighting Resistance, and later in the game the DEF build-up skill.
You can completely maximize 6 skills in Shining Soul. It takes 15 points to
master one skill and you get a total of 98 points through out the game granted
that you get to level 99. 98 divided by 15 is 6.53 therefore you can only
master 6 skills. Therefore focus on Axe, Emit, Def-Buildup Skill, Fire Res
and Lightning Res. That's only 5 skills, but that's better than focusing on
6 skills in this case. Raise STR so you can hit harder and DEX so you can
actually hit the enemies. If you seem to be dying more than you'd like to
then raise VIT until you get comfortable.

Slow
All of the spells were tested against the Beast Mountain enemies. It
is hard to just say that the magic increased by 1.5x or 3.0x because the
magic will do different damages to different enemies. So use these
damage totals as a general point of reference of increments of damage
rather than an exact figure.
1)Blaze
Level 0 - A small ball of flames is fired from the caster.
(About 5-10 damage.)
Level 1 - The now cannon ball size flame shot can penetrate enemies.
(About 20-25 damage.)
Level 2 - The fireball is about the size of a car tire.
(About 35-40 damage.)
Level 3 - The size dramatically increases to about the size of a human body.
(About 55-60 damage.)
Level 4 - The fire attack is now larger than a human body size.
(About 75-80 damage.)
Level 5 - The level 5 blaze spell unleashed eight level 2 size fire balls
in a shotgun style at your foe each doing around 75-90 damage!
2)Freeze
Level 0 - A plate size ice ball is fired, enemies can be frozen.
(About 5-10 damage.)
Level 1 - A decent size ice attack, about the size of the computer monitor
that you are looking at right now, is fired at your enemies.
(About 20-25 damage.)
Level 2 - A freezing ice attack about the size of a small boulder.
(About 30-40 damage.)
Level 3 - Basically the freeze attack becomes two level 2 size shots.
(About 40-50 damage.)
Level 4 - The ever lethal freeze attack becomes four level 2 size shots.
(About 65-75 damage.)
Level 5 - As though a blizzard flows from your wizard... a nightmarish
storm of six level 2 freeze shots are fired against your enemy!
(About 70-80 damage.)
3)Spark
Level 0 - Even though that this spark is 5-7 feet long, it only harms your
enemy about 5-10 damage... I mean 1 inch of arcing electricity is
anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 volts so if it were just 10,000 per
inch then it'd be at least 600,000 volts for 5 feet... But 5-10
damage? C'mon now.
Level 1 - The length of the lightning bolt becomes about 7-9 feet long and
the range of attack increases slightly. (About 25-35 damage.)
Level 2 - The range of this electric attack increases slightly.
(About 45-60 damage.)
Level 3 - The arcing electric spark attack range and damage increases.
(About 65-75 damage.)
Level 4 - The arcing electric spark attack range and damage increases.
(About 85-95 damage.)
Level 5 - Your foes feel the pain when you unleash the level 5 spark.
(About 115-130 damage.)
4)Hellblast
Level 0 - A small tornado of force spins around your enemies for about 1
second. (About 1-2 damage.)
Level 1 - A tornado larger than your body spins around your enemies for
about 2 seconds. (About 7-8 damage.)
Level 2 - A tornado about larger than the size of your body spins around
your enemies until it hits a wall. (About 12-13 damage.)
Level 3 - A tornado around the size of a young tree repeatedly hits your
enemies. (About 16-19 damage.)
Level 4 - The size of the level 4 tornado is the same as the level 3
tornado. (About 22-25 damage.)
Level 5 - A swirling tempest wrecks havoc upon your chosen enemies.
(About 24-27 damage.)
5)Inferno
Level 0 - A pillar of fire jumps from the ground at the feet of all
enemies who are in close range of your character.
(About 10-15 damage.)
Level 1 - Pillars of flame attack all enemies in about a 2 foot radius
of attack. (About 30-40 damage.)
Level 2 - Pillars of flame attack all enemies in about a 3 foot radius
of attack. (About 35-50 damage.)
Level 3 - Pillars of flame attack all enemies in about a 4 foot radius
of attack. (About 60-75 damage.)
Level 4 - Just short of everything on the screen can be caught within
the inferno's powerful flame attack. (About 65-80 damage.)
Level 5 - Giant columns of magma terrorize and seek out your enemy
to almost the entirety of the screen. (About 90-105 damage.)
6)Res
Level 0 - All magical resistances temporarily increase to 5.
Level 1 - All magical resistances temporarily increase to 15.
Level 2 - All magical resistances temporarily increase to 25.
Level 3 - All magical resistances temporarily increase to 35.
Level 4 - All magical resistances temporarily increase to 45.
Level 5 - All magical resistances temporarily increase to 55.
7)Heal
Level 0 - Health is restored by 1 hp at no SP cost.
Level 1 - Health is restored for between 14-19 hp.
Level 2 - Health is restored for between 42-57 hp.
Level 3 - Health is restored for between 70-90 hp.
Level 4 - Health is restored for between 90-115 hp.
Level 5 - Health is restored for between 120-160 hp at little SP cost.
8)Slow
A stronger level of slow will neither increase the duration nor the
potency or power of the slow spell but rather the chance that slow will be
inflicted upon your enemy. Each level was tested with 3 trials of 10 for a
grand total out of 30 to determine the percentage of successful hit.
Level 0 - 03/30 = 10% (Chance of Success)
Level Increase of = 00% (Normal)
Level 1 - 10/30 = 33% (Chance of Success)
Level Increase of = 23%
Level 2 - 10/30 = 33% (Chance of Success)
Level Increase of = 00%
Level 3 - 20/30 = 66% (Chance of Success)
Level Increase of = 33%
Level 4 - 22/30 = 73% (Chance of Success)
Level Increase of = 13%
Level 5 - 24/30 = 80% (Chance of Success)
Level Increase of = 07%

= Wizard Synopsis =
-------------------
Ok so what should you do first as a wizard? Well the best spell in the game
is hands down Inferno because not only does it do the most damage, but it
automatically seeks the target by hitting them right at their feet. However
finding the inferno book normally takes a while of playing before it is
available so you have to pick between the blaze or freeze spells. Blaze is
slightly stronger at higher levels but freeze will immobilize enemies into ice
cubes which allows for another attack without the risk of getting hurt.
Therefore the freeze spell is hundreds of times more valuable than the blaze
spell. Keep in mind it only needs to hold you over until you find an Inferno
spell book so don't level it up to much, Level 2 should be high enough.
With the Inferno spell, the wizard is the most powerful character in the
game hands down. You can not only attack from a safe distance, but that
attack is extremely powerful. The heal spell is the next best spell in the
wizard's armory. At level 0 and no cost to SP, a wizard can refill her
health bar by 1 hp. That 1 hp per cast can be used quickly and it is a must
during boss battles. You will not need to buy to many health restore items
either. Even at level 5 when the heal spell restores over 100 hp it only
costs a few SP.
You can completely maximize 6 skills in Shining Soul. It takes 15 points to
master one skill and you get a total of 98 points through out the game granted
that you get to level 99. 98 divided by 15 is 6.53 therefore you can only
master 6 skills. Therefore raise freeze to level 2, heal to at least level 1,
inferno to level 5 and periodically raise RES to level 5. Raise DEX so you
do not get hit and your spells are not interrupted. If you find yourself
dying to often then raise you VIT a few times and see if the situation
improves.

There are 8 dungeons in Shining Soul. At the end of every dungeon is a
dungeon boss. There are several sections or acts or levels per dungeon
and each one can be compared to the shape of a square. Since it is a
square, I will use the directions North (up), South (down), West (left),
and East (right) to indicate where you should move.
I. Beast Mountain
-----------------
Welcome to the first dungeon area. Contrary to the name, Beast Mountain
looks more like a beach than a mountain. There are various palm trees
and other such flora that do not grow on mountains... but heck who cares,
you'll be more worried about getting use to the game than what how accurate
the dungeon's name is. There are 4 sections to beast mountain, including
the boss section. Beast Mountain is pretty darn easy.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 1
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Blue Blob
Green Blob
Goblin
Basically try and get familiar with the game and the way your character
attacks. You start off in the South-West corner of the section. Kill
the habitual enemies and head north. Explore around the section... there
is not much to see or explore as you will find out. The exit is in the
exact northernmost point in the map. It appears after you kill the monster
leader, the green blob. There is a chest to the left of the exit.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 2
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Blue Blob
Green Blob
Goblin
Mountain Spirits
White Goblin
Beginning in the North-West part of the area, head south and encounter,
among the blue blobs and goblins, white mountain spirits! ...Sorry to get
you excited... because its really not that exciting at all. A chest is
located just east of the starting location. The exit will appear after you
kill the white goblin pack leader and his goblins in the exact Southern-most
point in the map. The last chest is located about 20 feet North-North-East
of the exit.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 3
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Blue Blob
Green Blob
Goblin
Mountain Spirits
White Goblin
Old Green Troll
Welcome to the last section of the Beast Mountain before you fight the boss.
You begin in the South-West corner of the map and must snake your way through
course like a sine wave with an attitude. Fight off the pack of spirits and
head north. There's a chest guarded by a few goblins. After the opening the
chest, head east... and then head south. After killing the wandering enemies
set your course east and you will fight some blobs and goblins (Wow what a
surprise... more and more blobs and goblins). Explore north if you want to
kill more enemies (more experience!) or continue east along the "mountain".
You should see a chest before you leave this small little area. Continue
fighting east and then turn north where you will fight a white goblin or two,
a boatload of mandatory blobs with a gaggle of normal goblins, and then one
easy old green troll. After you kill the OGT (hmm... tool song?) the portal
to the boss will appear at the dead end. This red portal reminds me of the
portal you take in Diablo to get to the final level of the game. Just stand
on the portal and press A to get to the boss of Beast Mountain!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 4
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: BOSS - Beast King
This overgrown shaved ape has a lion's head and that medusa deal going on.
Four teal snakes make up a part of the Beast King's mane. He'll taunt you
with broken english before he attacks you.
Beast King's Pre-Fight Smack Talk
-You...
-You, hurt, my, brothers...
-It's your, turn, to be hurt...
-Knock you out, my pleasure...
-Ha ha ha...
Ok the Beast King has three attacks:
-Stand and kick the dirt around him to mildly hurt you.
-Roll around in the same exact pattern around the map while stopping at the
same exact places to sit and spin for a while.
-Stand and shoot four white energy balls.
The easy and long way to beat the Beast King is to move south and wait for
him to get into his roll formation and roll and pause at the bottom for
several seconds where you can lay some attacks into him. The shorter but
harder way is to attack him when he is standing and attack him when he is
in his rolling formation. When you attack him while he is kicking dirt
around, stand directly in front of him so you do not get hit. When he is
shooting energy balls at you, continuously strafe (move perpendicular to his
body) left and right to avoid the energy balls and throw in the occasional
attack.
Beast King's Death Speech
-You hit me?
-Oh no, you can't.
-I want to beat humans
-More humans...
After you kill him, raid the prize chest and press A on top of that smoking
blue portal to be transported back to town.
II. Labyrinth Death Shadow
--------------------------
Right... pretty strange name eh? Basically its an underground stone dungeon
that is full of mummies and bats and trolls and goblins. This will be your
first test of determination and will power. The dungeons get long and
repetitive from here on out. Enjoy!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 1
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: White Goblin
Purple Cave Bat
Mummy
Graveyard Archer
You start this new dungeon behind a steel cage. Take a look at this type of
cage if you are a wizard or an archer because they will be your best friend
in this dungeon. You can attack through these steel cages and enemies can not
attack you. If you are a warrior or a dragonmute... you are just gonna have
to deal with good ole fashion'd hacking... which is why you choose those two
characters anyway... right?
Enemies can not attack you through the cage so take advantage of this if you
are an archer or a wizard, otherwise dispose of the bats and goblins by means
of your own steel. Head North-West and you should see a hanging, yet harmless
skeleton who is hiding a chest. Walk right through this dungeon decoration
and that chest is all yours. Come back out of the tiny alley and stay to the
right to hide behind another vertical steel grate if you are an archer or a
wizard. Warriors and Dragonmutes stick to the left as you head North-West to
fight. Here is the first mummy that you will fight. Pretty easy... just a
few more hitpoints than some of the enemies you have been fighting. Kill
the baddies and head North-East to fight a number of bats and white goblins...
and a Graveyard Archer
The Graveyard Archer poses a threat in that he can shoot arrows at you...
but actually it is not that much of a threat because he fires slowly. He
becomes a problem when the Graveyard Archer is accompanied by a large number
of enemies. Kill the Graveyard Archer and head to the exit in the East side
of the room. The exits in this dungeon always looks like gray descending
steps.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 2
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Cave Bat
White Goblin
Graveyard Archer
Purple People-Eater Troll
Lucky for some of you reading this, you begin behind another protective
metal cage. Fight off the enemies that appear right off the bat and head
North-West a little bit for some action, then make a 180' and head
South-East. I hope I don't have to tell you that there is a chest slightly
north of the starting point. The corridor turns South-West and leads into
some purple cave bats. There is another hanging skeleton in his hallway and
also a vertical spike trap. Only one of those is dangerous... I'll let you
decide. Well if you want to avoid the spike trap and fight a Purple
People-Eater Troll, then take the North-West turn-off on in this corridor.
After you kill the troll, open up that chest in the North-West corner of
the room. Next head due South-East! This is the last room of this section
of the dungeon. Stand behind the beneficial steel cage if you can attack the
enemies from it, or barge in with guns-a-blazing if you cant.
There's another friendly Graveyard Archer and then an exit in the Southern
corner whether you want to kill everyone or not.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 3
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Cave Bat
White Goblin
Graveyard Archer
Purple People-Eater Troll
Ghost in Blue Rags
Old Green Troll (yea!)
Mummy
A white goblin or two will welcome you to the third section of the Labyrinth
Death Shadow dungeon. You might want to take this time to head back to town
using an angel wing and get some more supplies or upgrade your weapons. Make
sure you have at least one angel wing before you return to the dungeon! Well
anyway, lets head in the direction that those white goblins were coming from.
North-West. WHOA! What is that! Oh that is a Ghost in Blue Rags. They shoot
fireballs... watch out. Defeat this ghost and head North-East. You will
encounter a large amount of trolls and bats and goblins. Hopefully by now you
have a system for killing these trolls and such... cause it should be pretty
easy considering that you should be at a decent level by now. I love those
Old Green Trolls. Anyway continue North-East and you will find two Graveyard
Archers out to hurt you. Kill them and you gain access to two chests in the
back room. Grab the contents of the chests and return to the 4-way
intersection of hallways. This time instead of heading North-East, head
North-West. Continue to bash heads and skulls and craniums until you are at
yet another crossroads.
Well after killing the two mummies I'll let you decide which way to take.
Take the South-West way to end up back at the beginning of the section and
find more enemies to kill along the way... or head North-West to get to the
exit stairs of the section!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 4
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Blue Blob
Green Blob
Purple Blob
This is the easiest section in the entire dungeon. I think this was made to
give you a breather in between real sections of the dungeon. Basically you
start off practically surrounded... but only by five blue blobs. Alright you
killed the five blue blobs. How about another five more blue blobs? Ok so
you killed ten blue blobs now. Well the game is gonna throw a green blob
(*snore*) AND a brand new purple blob! Ahh! The purple blob is something to
respect and fear. He hits much harder than his other friends. Luckily you do
not see him very often. Kill these last two blobs and jump down the steps
into the next section.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 5
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Ghost in Blue Rags
Ghost in Blood Red Rags
Purple Cave Bat
Gold Cave Bat
White Goblin
Mummy
Graveyard Archer
Yea it may appear that you start off in a completely closed off room, but if
you hug the South-West side of the square room that you are stuck in, and walk
South-East, you will find that you can walk on that black darkness stuff. But
wait! Don't walk over there yet! There is a pack of about 3 Ghosts in Blue
Rags, a brand new Ghost in Blood Red Rags and a purple cave bat! The Ghost in
Blood Red Rags shoots very harmful fireballs. Fight cautiously and open that
chest in the East corner of this room. Exit this room using the North-East
hallway and you'll encounter some mummies and white goblins. Hey, golden cave
bats! Watch out, there are only out to hurt you though... Kill that annoying
archer at the end of this hallway while you're at it. Or spare his life and
train past him... nah on second thought... just kill him.
Follow this corridor, it will turn 2 more times and then at the very end
is the exit. Be prepared to duke it out with some mummies, gold cave bats,
two graveyard archers and a bunch of white goblins. The second graveyard
archer is guarding the final section chest. Hit up the exit and get ready for
section 6.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 6
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Mummy
Gold Cave Bat
Ghost in Blue Rags
Purple Mummy
Head North-East from you South-Western starting position. You shouldn't get
to far without getting attacked by a long stream of mummies and a bat or ghost
or two. The first chest is hiding behind some piping in the North-West
corner.
Greet the ghost in blue rags as you head North-East from that first chest.
After you kill the ghost you should see a brand new purple mummy accompanied
by some other mummies. This purple mummy is very tough. Lucky for wizards
and archers, he is stuck behind a steel cage right away. After you kill the
purple mummy the exit will appear just South-East of here. Stay and kill the
plentiful amount of enemies if you want more experience or bail into the next
section if you are feeling impatient. I'm sure you have already opened that
chest that is right next to the exit... if you haven't then go open it!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 7
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Old Green Troll
Graveyard Archer
Furious Red Troll
Purple Cave Bat
Gold Cave Bat
White Goblin
Ghost in Blue Rags
Upon entering section 7, a bunch of old green trolls will spring to your
side. Spring to your side as in they have axes, and have been having an
overall bad day. But I'm sure if you took them to breakfast and had coffee
with them, you'd find they are pretty cool guys anyway. But there's no time
for breakfast and these guys are pretty pissed... so just kill them.
Head down the South-West hallway and kill that annoying but lone graveyard
archer. Well further down this hallway is another pack of old green trolls
lead by a furious red troll. Get rid of this gang of punks and open up
that chest that they were guarding. If you head North-West, its basically
a U-Shaped, nah more like an Oval Shaped Hallway that is full of purple and
gold bats. Finish them off for easy experience.
Leave this whatever letter shaped hallway and move South-West to fight off
a lot of white goblins. At this little intersection you can head South-West
to get to the boss portal, or head South-East to fight some more mummies and
baddies. This was the quickest way to the boss so if you are getting sick
of all this fighting you can just bail-out and fight the boss. Otherwise
head South-East and make a big loop and end up back at the beginning of the
section. Make sure you grab that chest that is a little North-East of the
first turn. Then just head back to the intersection and take the South-West
turn to get to the boss portal.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 8
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: BOSS - Titan Fighter
Aw its just a little goblin chump.
Titan Fighter's Testimonial
-Hey you!
-How could you do this to the mass production project of Titan Fighters! You
won't get away with this!
-Come on out, the Titan Fighter!
-Grrr...
Aww shoot, you don't just have to kill that little guy? Alright well this
giant machine lifts up from underneath the floor and starts shooting lasers
at you like crazy. It's hard to even distinguish what this titan fighter
looks like... it's sorta lame though...
Basically the titan fighter has two domes from which it will shoot a green
pulse-energy beam at you. It alternates which dome so you will know which
to try and stay away from. The beams can be aimed at you to a certain
extent. You need to attack the part of the titan fighter that's is in
between the two domes. While the laser beams are keeping you on your toes,
this giant hand will fly out from the North-West and South-East sides of
the room to smack you around a bit. The hands will only move across one
half of the room... the half at which they start from. In other words...
they are pretty easy to avoid. Attacking the titan fighter is a tedious
task because you do not do much damage, and he has a lot of hit points.
After a good amount of attacking, the titan fighter will become
completely engulfed in flames and horrid explosions... There is still
one more stage of the titan fighter to kill! A spinning ball rolls out
of the spot you were attacking. I guess this ball was the mainframe or
brain of the titan fighter. Either way it spins around this tiny room in a
rather unpredictable manner. Get your attacks in while still maintaining
a very cautious attitude. Hopefully you didn't waste to many healing items
while fighting the first stage of the titan fighter. If you die, you are
just gonna have to get to town and buy more herbs and healing items. The
spinning brain ball does not have many hitpoints and you should be able to
tackle it fairly easily.
Titan Fighter's Death Speech
-Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!
III. Egual Dungeon
------------------
Once again that's a pretty strange name for a dungeon.
(Egual isn't even a word...)
Believe me, it is not Equal Dungeon... which at least would make some kind
of sense... this is "Egual Dungeon".
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 1
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Old Green Troll (back... and more powerful than ever! ...sorta)
Purple Blob
Ice Spirit
Purple Spirit
Alright keeping in mind our compass directions... head North-East and kill
some blue cave bats while you're at it. You will soon meet up with our good
pal the OGT and some bats and a purple blob. Gotta respect those Old Green
Trolls. Anyway continue North-East and you'll find your first chest. Hey
look its a Ice Spirit and a Purple Spirit. Yea... the purple one is harder
than the ice ones. Continue South-East and grab that chest that is in the
that little North-East corner of this area.
From that chest we just talked about, head South-West to find an area richly
blessed with many enemies of all kinds. Experience here we come! That was
all worth it because the exit is in the North-West area of this room.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 2
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Purple Blob
Ice Spirit
Old Green Troll
Irritated Blue Troll
Head South-West and fight some bats and trolls and stuff. Then turn and go
South into a big open area. Fight some wicked purple blobs and a few helping
ice spirits. Kill them all and travel South-East. I know you see that chest
in the Southernmost point in this area. From the chest head North-East and
you'll find yourself at a little intersection. You can head North-West for a
little bit of monsters end up back at the starting point or you can head
South-East to continue. Well the exit is in the South-Westernmost point so
lets head North-East at the next crossroads so we can pick up the last chest
in the North-East wall and kill some more bad guys while we're at it. From
the last chest along the North-East wall in the last room, head South-East
for about 2 seconds and then head South-West all the way to the section exit.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 3
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Old Green Troll
Ghost in Blue Rags
Ghost in Red Rags
Purple Blob
Ice Spirit
Right away you have to fight some bland cave bats, one old green troll and
at least one ghost in blue rags. Head East and open up the chest. Head south
to fight some a few more bland cave bats, ghosts in blue rags and a ghost in
red rags. Continue fighting South-East until you come to a dead-end. Make a
180 and head North-East to find many old green trolls who ain't happy. A
chest is in the Easternmost corner of this room and the exit is in the most
North-East place in this room. Don't leave yet! Go North-West for about 2
seconds and kill those bland cave bats. If you head South-West now you will
end up back at the beginning so just turn back around and leave this section.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 4
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Cave Golem
You start off in what looks like a little closet room or something. Make
your way North. This hallway is actually a hill type thing. Rocks are
mysteriously being thrown down at you and you have to dodge them! Run up the
ramp hugging the South-East wall. Jump in those little crevices when a bunch
of rocks come flying down at you. Watch out these rocks will do at least 10
damage... so if 5-6 hit you that's 50-60 right down the drain! The second
crevice contains a chest for you to crack open while waiting for the rocks
to roll by. Further up this hill on the North-West wall is another chest.
At the top of this hill on the left is a cave golem that once you kill, the
exit appears right at where you first encountered him.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 5
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Ice Spirit
Creepy Cave Crawler
Cave Golem
Charismatic Creepy Cave Crawler
Bland cave bats will drop by and say hello right away in Section 5. Head
South-East and encounter these wonderful Creepy Cave Crawlers. They are
fast, angry, strong, and retain 100 shares of Starbucks(TM). These guys know
how to fight and you better believe you are gonna see a TON of them. Make
your way South-East and pick up that chest in the far South-East corner of
this room. Keep heading South-East around that tiny little corner and find
another chest and some cave golems. From that chest head South-West and you
will find a nice pack of the CCC. From where you encountered the pack of
the CCC, head North to find more CCC and their blue leader, the CCCC.
You fought the CCCC and his CCC basically in the center of this section
of the dungeon. The exit is exactly in the South-Western most point.
If you have been following my walkthrough thus far then you have hit the
North, East and Southern corners. This still leaves the West corner so head
West! Alright here for you in this corner is a nice pack of Cave Golems.
Experience anyone? Take a little time and kill these guys for all the
experience they give you and then turn into that little South-Western Hallway
that is just South of here or from the cave golem spawn, head North back to
the entrance and fight some more baddies. At the end of the South-Western
hallway is the exit...
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 6
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Ice Spirit
Creepy Cave Crawler
Cave Golem
Skeletal Warrior
Purple Blob
Ok you start off in the North-West corner of this entire section. You
will fight two ice spirits and a small pack of Creepy Cave Crawler's right
away. Obviously head South-East and pick up that chest along the way.
Head as far South-East as you can and open the chest, which is located at
the first wall you hit if you head South-East from the beginning. The
chest is loosely guarded by a pack of cave golems. The exit is in the
North-Easternmost point in this section. Basically the room left to
explore is just an oversized hallway with a few large boulders. About
50 feet North-East will be a skeletal warrior and a crew of cave golems.
Kill them all and make you way to the exit...which is well protected by
spirits and creepy cave crawlers.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 7
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Ice Spirit
Ghost in Blue Rags
Creepy Cave Crawler
Purple Blob
Old Green Troll
Cave Golem
Bland Cave Bat
Furious Red Troll
This is one of the biggest section in the Egual Dungeon. This dungeon
section takes longer than the other sections to this dungeon so now would
be a great time to head back to town and sell any useless equipment and
restock on restoration supplies. Back yet? Alright well head South-West
and fight the ice spirits and a pack of ghost in blue rags. Walk all the
way to the wall and head South-East but do not go in that little corridor.
Turn 90' degrees once again and head North-East until you hit a wall
just South-East of where you started. Yea we are basically going through
this level with a fine-toothed comb. So at this wall move one screen
South-East and travel South-West!
Ignore all side pathways and just head South-West while killing some
cave golems and bats and an old green troll or two. Yea keep walking
until you hit the wall and open up the chest that is in the North-West
corner of this little room. Now head one screen South-East and once
again Head North-East. Well you will move about 20 feet until you are
ambushed by a whole lot of old green trolls and a furious red troll.
Bust out the marshmallows because you are gonna be here for a while
killing these suckers. When you are done killing get back to the
scanning grid plan and head North-West. I know you aren't sick of those
bland cave bats because they are here to fight along with some cave
golems and purple blobs as you head North-West. Further North-West is
a wonderful pack of Creepy Cave Crawlers. Once you get to the wall head
South-East as far as you can... its about one screen in size. Now head
South-West for the final leg of our scanning-grid system plan type thing.
Walk as far South-West as you can and then turn and head North-West once
you hit a wall then take the first South-West turn you can. Follow that to
a wall and finally head North-West to the section's exit!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 8
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Purple People-Eater Troll
Furious Red Troll
Section 8 starts you in a little corridor with one way to go...
Yea head South-West. You will have a few turns but just keep walking
South-West. At one of the turns is this section's first chest. You will
end up pulling a 180' and heading North-East. Just keep on trucking.
After heading North-East for a few seconds you will enter a large room.
The exit to this section is in the room's Northern corner and the last
chest of this section is in the Southern corner. Fight the trolls and bats
and enjoy!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 9
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Bland Cave Bat
Purple Blob
Armored Centaur
Veteran Armored Centaur
Fight the bland cave bats and purple blobs that attack you right off the
start and then head South-East. Hey look at that, there's a new monster
in town! The Armored Centaur moves very fast and hits at about medium
damage. This would be fine normally but they fight in groups. Take
your time and use some healing items if you have to. Once you hit a wall
while traveling South-East head South-West. Walk a little bit and you
will find a chest a little off to the left (North-West). Open the chest
and resume heading South-West. Yea take that turn at the end of this
corridor and head North-West. Watch out for all those angry centaurs
and blobs. This is where that hellish Veteran Armored Centaur comes
barreling at you like a madman. Be very cautious! Continue
walking down this giant hallway. This section is very easy to navigate
because there is only one direction to go at all times. Open up that
chest which is in that small room North of where you encountered the
Veteran Armored Centaur. Fight more and more and more monsters and
find the exit in the center of this section.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 10
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Cave Golem
Creepy Cave Crawler
Armored Centaur
Veteran Armored Centaur
You start off in a Southern Corner. There is only one way to go, it is
a tunnel... well you could turn around at any point so just keep going one
way and don't turn around. (But I don't think you are gonna get lost)
If you are bad around cave golems or creepy cave crawlers then head to town
and get more moral support or healing items. There is a chest guarded by
the CCC and a few armored centaur's around the first turn. You will get to
a crossroads a little ways after the chest. Take the North-West road.
Yep... a nice, probably worthless detour... now head South-East! (sometimes
there are still enemies up there to kill so its better just to check but
more than often you already killed them.) Wait, before you head South-East,
you should know that there are a ton of Armored Centaurs so be prepared!
Continue heading down this one-way hallway. Basically this entire level
is close-quarters fighting... so it is pretty difficult. To top this whole
stretch of difficult fighting is a VAC near the end. When the hallway opens
into a room, head North and open up that chest. If you have been killing
the monsters in this room then the portal to the boss should open up just
south of the chest. Kill the enemies and get ready for the boss battle.
Put any and all health items in your quick slot because the next boss can
do a lot of damage if you are careless.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 11
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: BOSS - Bulzam
A Colorful Statue? What harm can he do?
Bulzam's Opening Battle Speech
------------------------------
-My name is Bulzam... One of the Dark Dragon's
Five Generals
-However, I do not pledge my real loyalty to the Dark Dragon.
-I will become Master Bulzam and all creatures shall worship
me
-Well, Brave One,
-This is unfortunate but I can see that you do not understand
my noble ambition
-There is no choice but... death!!
Ok lets get one thing straight, Bulzam never moves... he teleports.
Bulzam teleports to the same four locations in the boss room. These four
locations are North, South, East and West. Oh well he actually has two
teleportation locations on the east side but they are pretty close
together... He first teleports to the North point to begin the fight.
Bulzam has 3 magic attacks...
a fire spray that he throws from the base of his statue... 15-20 damage
those 4 white energy balls that the beast king also had... 15-20 damage
finally a green energy beam that is fired from his hips... 50-50 damage
Yes that's right... MAGIC attacks... so it wouldn't be that bad of an
idea to RAISE your magic resistance before you fight him... got it?
He will choose at least one of those attacks to execute right after he
teleports but if he is going to shoot the green energy beam he'll normally
do it as the first attack after a teleportation. Each fireball spray is
offset a small distance and you can squeeze yourself in between them to get
a hit in if you use a spear or a bow or if you are a wizard. If you are
a dragonmute or a warrior who doesn't use a spear then just sit in between
the fireballs so you do not receive any damage. The white energy balls
will shoot from above a few feet above Bulzam's head. They will seek to
your position but if you move perpendicular to them then you should not
have to much of a problem avoiding them. The warrior and dragonmute should
get in their attacks when Bulzam is firing his energy balls. The archer and
wizard should be able to attack bulzam most of the battle. You should take
extreme caution when Bulzam shoots his green energy beam because it will do
a clean 50 points of damage. Players lose against Bulzam when they become
careless and get hit by his fireballs or if they get hit by his white energy
balls. There should be plenty of time for you to refill your health but
make sure you have enough health items and have them in your quick slot
before the battle even begins!
Bulzam's Closing Battle Speech
------------------------------
-I am the master...
-All deities shall prostrate themselves at my feet!!
IV. Forest of Another World
---------------------------
Ok finally a title that makes half sense. The part that doesn't make
sense is the "Another World" part. I mean it isn't in another world...
its right there on your map! I guess they call it "another world"
because the exits are swirling portals... but that's still a lame reason.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 1
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Black Volcano Goblins
Woodland Archer
Owl of Ostracization
Ice Spirit
Look around this section and get use to the Forest of Another World style
or dungeon. The exits are swirling blue portals and chests are not found
easily because they are often back deep in the woods. Here is how the
first section is laid out. Also in these forests are toadstools and
mushrooms. These fungi will restore your health is you use them upon
yourself but there's a chance it will poison you. So take your chances.

grab the chests if you so desire, and then hop into the portal exit. A note
about the enemies... they are pretty tough in the Forest of Another World.
The enemies and monsters have a lot of hitpoints and hit pretty darn hard
so be prepared!

SECTION 2
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Black Volcano Goblins
Woodland Archer
Furious Red Troll
Alright, this entire section is very linear. As in its as hard as getting
lost in a hallway or maybe as easy as operating a door knob. You begin
sorta in the middle of the map and have to head sorta North-Westerly. Once
you see the woodland archer then you'll turn South-West and then after a
while South and then after a while you'll be going East and then North.
This section is a spiral shape. The section will turn North-East and a
chest will be just off to the right. Of course it is guarded by furious
red trolls, but what isn't guarded by furious red trolls in this level?
Just north of that chest is wide area where you will get ambushed by
a lot of goblins and 2-3 woodland archers. You will get surrounded. Run
off to one of the sides so you are only partially surrounded but try and
keep moving so as to not get attacked. Use healing items as necessary.
After this fight you will head west and find the exit. South of this
exit is a chest. But lets not leave the level yet... head West from the
exit. Hey look at that. There's absolutely nothing here! Alright head
back east and hop in the exit portal.

SECTION 3
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Black Volcano Goblins
Woodland Archer
Ice Spirit
Neon Skeletal Warrior
Charismatic Creepy Cave Crawler
Well I have the layout for the level right below this so go whichever
way that you want to go. Make sure you pick up the chests and beware of
the neon skeletal warrior... he is pretty tough.

:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Charismatic Creepy Cave Crawler
Yes making maps for at least this dungeon will be a lot simpler for you to
understand than for me to yack and yack on and on of where to go. There is
only one enemy in this area. But there is a LOT of him and he's pretty
nasty... the charismatic creepy cave crawler. From the start just head
south and pick up that hidden chest. After the chest explore and kill
those nasty CCCC's.

SECTION 5
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Furious Red Troll
Cave Golem
Woodland Archer
Purple Cave Bat
Charismatic Creepy Cave Crawler
Veteran Armored Centaur
This is the largest section in this dungeon so far. You are greeted by
a few furious red trolls and cave golems. You cannot head north so head
east a little bit and then north as soon as you can. You have come north
just to kill this small band of furious red trolls so once you have killed
them you are safe for a while. Take this time to use an angel feather
and head back to town. Or if you have already done this then continue on
with me. Head south and then east deeper into the forest. Once you
encounter a purple cave bat (out here in the forest?) then head east even
though it sorta looks like you can't. A secret area is back here and it
contains a chest guarded by some Charismatic Creepy Cave Crawlers.
Backtrack to where you found the cave bat and then head north. You will
come to an intersection. Head east because the north way does not have
as many enemies and they both lead to the EXIT. Alright so you reached
that swirling blue portal exit now. If you head east you will find
a small band of Veteran Armored Centaurs and a chest way in the back of
the forest. You might as well kill the three centaurs and grab that
chest. Then come back and get ready for section 6.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 6
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Cave Golem
Woodland Archer
Right from the start dodge that lone cave golem and head south into
that secret walkway to pick up that chest. Then fight your way around
this horseshoe shaped section. You have to kill every single enemy to
reveal the portal. Oh and don't forget to get that hidden chest down
in the southern most point in this section.

Veteran Blood Armored Centaur
Woohoo another horseshoe shaped un-creatively repetitive shaped section!
Make you way around this brainwrackingly difficult section and enter the
exit! Oh, I just have one note... watch out for that INSANE blood centaur.
He's a real whopper. Ok one more note, don't forget to open up those
two chests past the exit...

SECTION 8
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Charismatic Creepy Cave Crawler
Veteran Armored Centaur
Nefarious Neon Creepy Cave Crawler
Woodland Archer
Alright you start off in the North-East corner of this section. Head West
and then North as soon as you can. This is a secret area with a chest at
the end. It curves off to the right so just fight your way through it until
you find it. Then return to where you came into this secret area and head
South-West. Fight through the masses of enemies and clear this little area.
The exit is in the southern most point of this map, which is just South-East
of here. Go and find the exit then move North-East about a half a screen.
In the South-East corner of this little area is another secret passage
that contains some baddies and a chest. Kill the monsters, open the chest
and return to the exit.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 9
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Owl of Ostracization
Woodland Archer
Owl of Devastation
You start off section 9 under attack from an owl of ostracization. This
entire section is once again a horseshoe type shape. So swing around the
two turns and find the exit at the end. There is a new enemy... the owl
of devastation... Oh and if you look east of the exit it looks like there
is a secret area but I have found no way to get into it. I have walked
around the entire perimeter and have still not found a way in. Oh well.
Hit up the exit and get ready for section 10.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 10
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Owl of Ostracization
Woodland Archer
Owl of Devastation
Veteran Armored Centaur
This entire section is a wide open area. Walk around and fight like
there's no tomorrow. From the exact eastern most point of this section
move a little bit south and search around to find a very long secret
area with a chest. Then come back out and fight some more. After you
kill the Owl of Devastation the boss portal will open up. Head back to
town and get prepared for the boss...
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 11
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: BOSS - Michaela
Michaela's Opening Battle Speech
--------------------------------
-ho ho ho...
-How do you do, "Mr.Hero" ?
-I am Michaela, one of the Five Generals.
-I've never imagined someone could get here
-I praise your bravery... by killing you!!
-Come on, and try to catch me!
Ok this is the boss of the Forest of Another World so you have to be
expecting something pretty crazy... Alright there are a few false Michaela's
that will attack you with ice. The real Michaela attacks with lightning
sparks. If you walk around the witches in a circle then you can avoid almost
all of the ice shards and can try and figure out which is the real Michaela.
-The real Michaela will not be firing ice shards but lightning sparks.
-Do not stop moving. It is harder for the witches to hit you and harder
for Michaela to hit you with her lightning spark that way.
-The fake Michaela's will die and respawn.
-Sometimes Michaela can hit you from very far distances.
-Be sure to have a large amount of healing restoration items in your
quickslot inventory
-Equip weapons/armor/accessories that will increase your resistance to ice
magic and lightning magic... The emerald charm increases ice and lightning
resistance by 10.
-Once you find the real Michaela, try to maneuver yourself so only the real
Michaela can attack you. Then dodge perpendicular to her in between your
attacks to avoid her lightning spark
-Don't hesitate to fall back and use an item... that few seconds could save
the entire battle.
-If you have a maxed out Soul accessory, be sure to use it against the entire
hoard of witches right in the beginning of the battle.
-Try, try, try and try again. Sometimes you just need to be persistent!
Michaela's Closing Battle Speech
--------------------------------
-... ... ... !!
-Gww!!
-I lost?
-Well done... I wished,
-Cough... cough...
-I wish I could see Master Dark Sol
-... ... ...
-one last time...
V. Glaybull Temple
------------------
The fifth dungeon is Glaybull Temple. It is one of the better looking
dungeons. A neat aspect is the yellow teleporters which transport you around
to various parts of the sections.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 1
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Mummy
Veteran Armored Centaur
Skeletal Warrior
In section 1 you are immediately attacked by about 4 Purple Mummies and 4
Veteran Armored Centaurs. After you defeat them, take a second to enjoy the
dungeon atmosphere. Leave the first room by the east tunnel and step onto
the yellow teleporter and press the A button to teleport. Quickly turn
South-West and engage the Purple Mummies and VAC's. Travel on South-West
through a hallway and attack the group of Skeletal Warriors. Once you enter
the northern room there will be more Skeletal Warriors and Purple Mummies.
If you have not seen them by now, there is a pair of chests in the North-East
corner and one more chest in the opposite, South-West, corner. Kill all the
enemies and the stairs will appear.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 2
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Veteran Armored Centaur
Skeletal Warrior
Ghost in Blood Red Rags
Head East and be prepared to be attacked by a large number of VAC with a
Skeletal Warrior or two. This is a little hard so have some healing methods
ready. Once you enter the next room you will encounter Skeletal Warriors and
a few 'Ghost in Blood Red Rags'. Do not use the teleporter in this room quite
yet. First exit the room by going East and kill the last Skeletal Warrior
and then use the teleporter in this hallway. Can you guess where it goes?
Yes it moves you about 5 feet so you can pick up the chest. Return to the
first room now and use the teleporter. The fighting intensifies as you are
transported upstairs where there is a small amount of room to manuever and a
large amount of enemies to destroy. Head West and kill the 4 Skeletal
Warriors then grab the chest in the South corner of the room. The stairs to
exit this section lay in the West corner of this room.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 3
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Veteran Armored Centaur
Purple Mummy
Robotic Reaper
This entire section resembles a zig zag line. You begin at the bottom of
the zig zag and at the end of each line part there is a teleporter which
takes you up to the next section or line of the zig zag. The entire way you
fight enemies. The third hallway or line on the way up has a chest at its
midpoint. At the top of the section there is a group of a new type of
monster... the Robotic Reaper. They are easy to kill however. Use the
teleporter on the North end to gain access to the chest. Then use the other
teleporter on the East side to get to the middle and use the stairs.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 4
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Neon Skeletal Warrior
Purple Mummy
Skeletal Warrior
Section 4 looks a little different than the previous sections. The
majority of fighting in this section is against Purple Mummies and Skeletal
Warriors. Head South-West and eventually you will get flanked by 4 Neon
Skeletal Warriors who cannot reach you but they will fire sparks of magic
at you. At the end of this small hallway lay two teleporters. Take the
West teleport first. You teleport slightly North. Teleport again and you
go slightly East. Teleport again and you go far West. Here you will be
ambushed by 3 Neon Skeletal Warriors. Kill them then use the teleporter
again and you will move far South. Use this teleporter and you'll end up
where you first selected the West teleporter. Now use the East teleporter
and you'll move slightly East where you will fight 6 Skeletal Warriors.
Use the next teleporter and you'll move slightly North-East where there is a
chest. Use the next teleporter and you will end up at the beginning of this
section. Now walk all the way back South-West down the hallway. See the
stairs just South across that little gap? You need to go through the series
of teleporters on the West teleporter again to reach the stairs and get to
Section 5.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 5
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Neon Skeletal Warrior
Robotic Reapers
Skeletal Warrior
Section 5 consists of 3 vertical pods of area connected by teleporters.
At the second pod there are two chests. The first pod contains only the
Neon and regular Skeletal Warrior however the second pod has those two in
addition to a few Robotic Reapers. Kill all the enemies on the third and
final pod and the stairs will appear on the West corner of the third pod.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 6
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Stone Goblins
Section 6 is a very unique section. It is just one hallway running
South-West to North East. You start at the South-West `end and you walk
North-East in between the rows of stone statues. However on the the statues
on the right side come alive and you need to destroy them all. After they
are reduced to gravel, the steps to section 7 will appear at the end of the
hallway.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 7
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Cave Golem
Blue Mummy
Green Daemon
First jump onto that first teleporter to your left and you will land in
a corner infested with Blue Mummies. Fight your way East and use the
teleporter to jump north. Kill the Green Daemons and head West to purge the
small area which may contain more enemies. Then head East and use the
teleporter in the far East corner. You will fight a mixture of Cave Golems
and Blue Mummies as you head West. Do not turn East but walk West and grab
the chest that is in the South corner of the square room. Continue fighting
and push down the hallway to the teleporter in the West corner but do not
use it. This was just to make sure you've killed a decent amount of these
enemies now and not later. Now make a 180' turn and head back East to the
turn that I told you not to take. By using the teleporter, you will jump a
little East onto a small plateau. Use the teleporter here as well which is
next to the statue. You will be sent far West into a pack of Green Daemons.
Kill them and then use the teleporter and then head West and use the
teleporter at the end of the hallway that we did not use, or just ignore it
and use the stairs to goto Section 8.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 8
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Cave Golem
Robotic Reapers
Green Daemon
Fight your way West and dispatch the 5 Cave Golems which seek to stop you.
Use the teleporter at the end of this small walkway and you will jump into
a fight against a few Robotic Reapers. Open the chest and use the opposite
teleporter. The next platform has a few more Robotic Reapers. Kill them
all and then use the opposite teleporter again to jump a little East. Here
you will encounter Cave Golems, Green Daemons and Robotic Reapers. Pound
them into the dirt and then use the teleporter on the North-East side of
this room. On this platform you fight the usual 3 bad guys. Kill them,
grab the chest up top and then use the teleporter. Wait, stop and admire the
statues first! The teleporter will bring you right to the stairs.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 9
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Ghost in Blood Red Rags
This section is very simple. You start on a little piece of land all
by yourself. In your solitude, try to equip some fire resistance or cast a
resistance spell. Also make sure your healing items are ready to go and then
use the teleporter. At this center room you will fight a decent number of
Ghosts in Blood Red Rags. They will all fire a fury of fireballs so you
have to keep on your toes. Try to single one or two out to make it easier.
If you get cornered just use one of the teleporters to be safely teleported
a few feet away. This part is difficult but after you kill them all, just
jump into the West teleporter and you will go right to the stairs.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 10
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Skeletal Warrior
Neon Skeletal Warrior
Purple Mummy
Blue Mummy
Stone Goblin
There are three levels to this section. There are teleporters which
connect all the levels. The first level you will fight a mixture of about
15 Skeletal Warriors and Neon Skeletal Warriors. The second level you will
fight Purple and Blue Mummies and Stone Goblins. The third and final level
you will fight Green Daemons which are lethal in groups. In between each
level you should relax and heal yourself. On the third level there are two
chests on the North-East corners of the room. After you kill all the Green
Daemons you will find the familiar red boss portal.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 11
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: BOSS - I-Ohm
I-Ohm's Battle Speech
---------------------
-The smell...
-I can smell it...
-I can smell fresh human blood.
-...Shining Warrior
-I am I-Ohm, one of the five Generals
-serving the Dark Dragon.
-I like that smell
-It will make the finest wine!
Never stand in the path which I-Ohm faces. He fires spirits and harmful
purple circles in that direction. The spirits fire in three directions
actually but if you stay in the area to his right or left then you should be
safe. He sends out two Creepy Cave Crawlers after you which will freeze you
and make you walk slowly if you get hit. I-Ohm periodically slams a force
field around himself which will strike you if you are close enough. Fighters
should charge up their weapons and 'hit and run' against I-Ohm. Use ranged
attacks if at all possible. One tactic would be to lure the Creepy Cave
Crawlers South-West and destroy them and then return to I-Ohm for a short
time of unhindered attacking before the Creepy Cave Crawlers appear again.
I-Ohm's Final Speech
--------------------
-I don't want to give up...
-but look...
-My blood has falled unto the earth
-and once the earth becomes engulfed by darkness...
-this blood will summon I-Ohm's body
-and bring it back to life! Ha ha ha...
VI. Deol Waterway
------------------
Deol waterway is the sixth dungeon in this game. I did some research on
the word "Deol" and I could not find any specific definition because it seems
to be a proper noun for last names. There is an Indian actress who is named
Esha Deol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esha_Deol).
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
I entered into Section 1 a few times and every other time I would spawn or
start in either the South corner or the North-West Corner. I have taken the
same approach to every section and dungeon the sameway and this is the first
time that I have discovered that there are different starting locations which
possibly renders many of my directions in sections a little less helpful.
I hope that the game begins to have different starting points only at this
point in the game. However I am now no longer ignorant of this and my
directions will now be more general and I will put more effort into explaining
the layout of the sections rather than directions!
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 1
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Blob
Purple Cave Bat
Owl of Ostracization
Owl of Devastation
The dungeon Deol Waterway looks like you are walking through a network of
sewers surrounded by waterways and stone canals. You begin the first section
in the south corner or in the North-West corner. Do not be afraid because you
are attacked by only purple blobs and purple cave bats from the start. Kill
them and make your way to the chests. There are sometimes two chests in the
North-West area and there is sometimes one chest in the far East area of this
section. After you kill most of the Purple Blobs and Purple Cave Bats then
the Owls begin to appear. After you kill all of the Owls of Ostracization
then a single Owl of Devastation will appear. The exit will appear in the
North area of the North-West side of this section. In this dungeon the exits
are simple wooden stairs.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 2
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Spirit
Purple Cave Bat
Owl of Ostracization
Veteran Blood Armored Centaur
Starting from the East corner head West. This section is basically a
straight line with a few walkways shooting off. You first fight Purple
Spirits and Purple Bats but then Owls of Ostracization begin to spawn. A
chest is down a walkway on the East side. At the first intersection just take
a right. There is a large amount of enemies in this section. You fight a mix
of the those three enemies the entire time. Towards the West area you will
fight a Veteran Blood Armored Centaur. The exit will appear in the very
Southern part of this Section.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 3
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Cave Bat
Purple Spirit
Royal Skeletal Warrior
Blue Cerebus
You are ambushed by Purple Bats and the newest Skeletal Warriors, the Royal
Skeletal Warriors. Named not just after their royal colors of gold and
purple but named after their endurance and royal difficulty. I have made a
simple map below to explain the level. You begin at the "S" in the North-
East corner. Fighting the Purple Bats and Royal Skeletal Warriors and make
your way south to the first chest. Chests are marked with the "C". After
the first chest just head far East for the second chest. After you are all
done then head for the "X" in the far West area for the exit!

SECTION 4
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Spirit
Royal Skeletal Warrior
Robotic Reaper
Owl of Ostracization
The section 4 level is a spiral beginning from the outside. There are two
chests to find along the way. Five Royal Skeletal Warriors will first greet
you. After that there will be a few Purple Spirits thrown in the mix with
additional skeletons. About half way through you will engage a number of
Robotic Reapers. The stairway to the next section is unlocked by an Owl of
Ostracization.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 5
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Purple Cave Bat
Blue Cave Golem
Section 5 is shaped like a square. You start out in the North-West corner.
There are two chests on the West side of the section. This is a very simple
section with only two enemies. Kill them all and the exit stairs will appear
in the South-East corner.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 6
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Royal Skeletal Warrior
Blue Cave Golem
Ghost of Lightning
Purple Gargoyle
Your character starts at the top of a one way walk to the end. Along the
way there are two easily visible chests. Also in this level is the new and
tasteless Purple Gargoyle enemy near the end. The stairs to the next level
are guarded by a group of Ghosts of Lightning and you should try to not face
them in the group because they can fire quickly and destroy you.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 7
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Blue Cave Golem
Owl of Ostracization
Owl of Devastation
Blue Cerebus
This area is just another one way walk to the end stairway. Right in the
beginning there is a chest. After turning a few corners you will fight one
Owl of Devastation which will open the stairs at the end where there is a
second chest to be opened.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 8
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Robotic Reaper
Super Robotic Reaper
Area 8 is a small square shaped room. There is one chest in the upper
right corner of the room. You will first fight 5 Robotic Reapers and then
4 more will spawn escorted by a Super Robotic Reaper. Don't get your hopes
up because he's not challenge either. After you kill the Super Robotic
Reaper the stairs will appear in the upper left corner and another 5 Robotic
Reapers will spawn.
:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 9
:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Royal Skeletal Warrior
Robotic Reaper
Ghost of Lightning
Red Dragon
You start off at the top of this map and you must head south. About one
screen south you go West grab the chest and then head East. One screen East
now is a chest in the center of three pathways but just before you reach it
a large red dragon will attack you. Now I don't mean large as in about twice
the size of you, I mean large as in this dragon is five to six times larger
than you. Kill him and then the stairs will appear to the southern pathway
from the second chest.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 10
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: Blue Cave Golem
Robotic Reaper
Blue Cerebus
Ghost of Lightning
Red Dragon
Your Shining Soul character starts off in the South-Eastern corner of this
map. Kill the first initial enemies and then take the path as far South East
as you can go basically walking the perimeter of the map. Here you will
encounter a number of Blue Cerebus who are guarding a Red Dragon. After you
slay the Red Dragon the boss portal will appear. Now you can either jump
right in or you can grab the chest which is just above you and grab the other
chest on the Northern most section of the area.
:-:-:-:-:-:
SECTION 11
:-:-:-:-:-:
ENEMIES: BOSS - Zeon
Zeon's Battle Speech
---------------------
-So, you have finally reached here.
-I didn't think that the Shining Force was
-this good... I have underestimated you!
-But I cannot be defeated here
-I cannot fall behind him...
-Dark Sol!
Zeon looks like a really tall zombie that swims around. You will fight him
on a square land area that has 9 equally place holes. Zeon will pop out of
these holes very rapidly to attack you. He will jump in and out randomly so
fast that it is best to just pick only two to three holes to attack him from
or else you will just be running around and getting attacked without progress.
He attacks for high melee damage and he also emits a poisonous purple ranged
attack. He will attack from the holes for a while and then leave to swim
around the square's perimeter in the water surrounding it. This is a good
time to get an extra attack or to heal yourself. Move all the way to one
edge so you can only attack you from three of the holes and your back is
always safe. Zeon has between 1200-1400 hitpoints.
Zeon's Death Speech
-------------------
-Impossible!
-For me to be beaten by someone like you...
-I will never accept it!
-Dark Sol...
-I'll be waiting for you
-at the bottom of the earth!

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Shining Soul has a wide array of monsters and fiends that deserve to be sliced
and diced or shocked and burnt or split and shot by your characters. Luckily
there is only a little bit of repetition in the monster sprites, so the game is
mildly refreshing when you get to a new dungeon. Here are the enemies of the
game, listed in alphabetical order. Shining Soul's bosses are listed in the
walkthrough as they appear... not in this section. The difficulty rating is
how hard the enemy is when you first encounter them with consideration that
you are leveling up at a normal pace. I do not know the official names of
any of the enemies so I made them up often keeping humor in mind more than
accuracy.
To find the monster that you are looking for, first look at the enemies list
of the section that you are in, then copy the name into the search field of
your browser (ctrl + f)... that is the shortcut to open the search field.
NAME: Armored Centaur
FOUND: Egual Dungeon
APPEARANCE: Centaur's are half horse and half human. In the case of these
Armored Centaurs... the horse part is bluish and the human part is totally
armored and well armed as well. Well armed as in two big swords that
do damage that is not to be taken lightly.
DIFFICULTY: Medium. These guys are quick and don't die very easily.
Although they don't hit hard, there is always a bunch of them so it all
equals out... they also are rather resistant to magic!
NAME: Black Volcano Goblin
FOUND: Forest of Another World
APPEARANCE: Picture an old goblin out of his prime. Then give him a fire
red eyes and a big axe... that is sorta what the Black Volcano Goblin
looks like.
DIFFICULTY: Medium. These guys take a while to kill and attack in groups
so they have a pretty good chance of doing damage to you.
NAME: Bland Cave Bat
FOUND: Egual Dungeon
APPEARANCE: Looks sorta like the purple and gold cave bats but the color is
sorta bland and dull.
DIFFICULTY: Easy. Please don't tell me you are having problems killing these
guys!
NAME: Blue Mummy
FOUND: Glaybull Temple
APPEARANCE: Cold Corpse + Light Blue Bandages + Short Temper = Blue Mummy
DIFFICULTY: Medium. These guys have a lot of hit points but they are weak
to inferno magic and their attacks are easy to dodge.
NAME: Blue Blob
FOUND: Beast Mountain, Labyrinth Death Shadow
APPEARANCE: Looks like your average amoeba that hung out with the Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles, absorbed the green ooze, and rapidly grew millions of
times in size and is now up to no good.
DIFFICULTY: Easy. A swing from any weapon, or an arrow properly placed, or
even a couple of misplaced freeze spells will send these punks back to the
sewer.
NAME: Blue Cave Golem
FOUND: Deol Waterway
APPEARANCE: Massive in size and blue in color, these golems are slow but
powerful.
DIFFICULTY: Golems in Shining Soul hit for high damage. These blue cave
golems are more powerful than the normal cave golem so be careful when
fighting near them.
