I.Introduction
---------------
Welcome to my Narikiri Dungeon 2 Costume/Skill FAQ. It is my first FAQ and
english is not my native language, so please bear with me. In this FAQ I'll try
to cover all 200 costumes, as well as their skills and battle abilities. If you
have any comments or suggestions about this FAQ, contact me on the gamefaqs.com
narikiri dungeon 2 message board, as I only rarely check my mails.

II.Information and Notes

Important note first. This FAQ is based on Kajitani Eizan's translation
patch because I can't read japanese, so it's possible that some names may
not match your expectations (although I'm pretty confident that Kajitanis
translation is accurate).
The skill and move descriptions were made using the manual battle settings,
so if you use the semi (or auto) settings, they most likely will not fit.
(You can change the settings by going into the menu (press select) and choose
the second option from the bottom and then the fourth from top. Pick the left
one and you're in manual mode).
Also the opinion on the costumes is my personal impression, which means I'm
not necessarly correct about them. If you prefer a costume which I described
as not very usefull, feel free to ignore my opinion, as it is a matter of
personal taste.
Elemental versions of costumes are like a double edged sword. On the one hand
you gain better defense against the element, on the other it makes your
attacks elemental based and an enemy who uses fire most likely will be not
affected through it. That means, that using them for defense will not help
you much because your attack power is also reduced (the defense against the
element is about 80% of your original attack/defense, which means you will
only take (or inflikt) about 1/5 of the damage compared to a non- or an
other-elemental costume).
However I still recomend using them instead of the neutral version for 3
reasons. First, the damage bonus; if you fight an enemy weak to your element,
you will do 200% damage on him. Second, you will get aditional spells and skills
(thats not absolute true, Archers f.e. don't get any spells). And the third
reason is the aditional stats bonus. Well, you can't really call it aditional
for the fire/water/wind/earth elements, because most likely wisdom will go up
but another status will go down.
Lets take the Fighter costume for example. The neutral version gets 60 HP, 6 TP
and alltogether 28 status points. The fire/water/wind/earth versions will get
the same (wisdom goes up, but agility goes down). However, the thunder/light/
darkness/origin versions will get 60 HP, 6 TP and a total of 32 status points
(wisdom increased even more and so did defense). In most cases you can divide
the elemental costumes into 3 levels:
Lv.1: No Element - basic skills
Lv.2: Fire/Wind/Water/Earth - less HP, but more TP and wisdom
learns spells and has one aditional skill
Lv.3: Thunder/Light/Darkness/Origin - even more TP and wisdom
stronger(?) spells and 2 aditional skills
This does not always apply (Archers won't learn spells, Mages will concentrate
on one element, Ninjas always have only 6 skills, and so on) but it's basically
how it works.
For the costume creation, I only wrote down the most obvious possibility,
because basically you can change any costume into any other (the exceptions
are elemental versions and Cameo costumes). For example:
Narikirishi + Steel Sword = Swordsman
Swordsman + Red Stone = Fire Swordsman
Fervent Fighter + Steel Sword = Fire Swordsman (not Swordsman)
This does not apply to Cameo costumes:
Dymlos + Steel Sword = Swordsman (not Fire Swordsman)
Also note that for Cameo costumes you will need a specific costume.

Cameo costumes, refer to Arcors Costume Translations FAQ.
The damage descriptions were done on enemies which were neither strong nor
weak against the element of the skill, by comparing them to the damage done by
a normal attack. I haven't found a way to compare magic damage, because there's
no basic attack which uses the wisdom value, so my damage description on spells
is a bit vague.
I divided the skills into different types, so you can get an idea what they do:

Attack Spell: Casts elemental magic to damage the enemies, based on wisdom
(casting time difers, depending on the power of the spell/
battle is stoped during most of the spells).
Support Spell: Casts a spell to cure you or to aid you in battle (casting time
depends on the spell/battle is stoped during some of them).
Attack Skill: Performs a single or a combination of attacks based on your
strength and has no casting time (has sometimes elemental
properties; note, that on elemental costumes a neutral skill will
also receive the element of that costume).
Support Skill: Heals you or aids you in battle without casting time.
Passive Skill: In effect all the time, or automaticly trigered when neccessary.
Non-battle Skill: A skill that can only be used outside battles.
Ougi: Basicly an attack skill, but the screen turns black and the
character is surounded by a white circle
(during most ougis the battle is stoped).
Hi-Ougi: Only Cless, Stahn and Rid have them. To be able to execute
them, you must meet these requirements:
1. have enough TP (same for all other skills ^_^)
2. your HP must be in the critical zone (red)
3. the most annoying an confusing requirement; you must loose
a fix amount of HP during ONE battle before using them
(it's about 75% of your max HP)
After using them your HP will drop to 1.

This is the costume you start out with, and most likely the worst costume in
the game. It doesn't gain any skills (why the hell is there even a TP gain ?),
it has no combo ability and the stats gain isn't impressive either. My advice,
as soon as you can contoll your characters, change costumes and never use this
one again (unless you want a real chalenge).

This is the costume you start out with, and most likely the worst costume in
the game. It doesn't gain any skills (why the hell is there even a TP gain ?),
it has no combo ability and the stats gain isn't impressive either. In my
opinion Kyaros version is even a bit worse, because her attack has a delay
during the start up. Stay away from this one.

Most likely one of the first costumes you get (or at least an elemental
version of it) and one of the best ones. It gets a good amount of HP and also
good attack and defense, the only downside is its agilty as you won't realy
need the wisdom. It has a lot of attack variations and gets good moves to
cause damage and to do some combos. Ther's almost no difference between
Frios and Kyaros version.

a higher level spell instead. It also learns the thunder-elemental Raijinken,
