INTRODUCTION
                               .--------------.

I've been a King of Fighters fan for a long time, now, and when I saw KOF EX2
(Abbr. of King of Fighters EX2), I knew I had to see what it was like. Sure,
a KOF game for a handheld seemed kind of strange, but upon playing it, I knew
it was a good game. Since Iori was first introduced to KOF (in The King of
Fighters '96), I've used him in every game. I decided "I have a chance to write
a guide for one of my favourite characters," and so I did; And you are reading
it now.
After reading this, I hope you are able to use Iori's power to your advantage,
and use the Yagami style of martial arts in your total advantage.

Fighting Style: Yagami style of ancient martial arts + pure instinct
Birthday: March 25
Height: 182 cm (5'11")
Weight: 76 kg (167.2 lbs)
Blood Type: Type O
Origin: Japan
Hobby: Playing in bands
Favourite Food: Meat
Dislikes: Violence
Specialty in Sports: Everything

           IORI'S HISTORY
-------------------------

The rival of Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami lives for himself, and only fights when
he needs to. He has a closer connection to the "Orochi" than anyone else, and
sometimes can't control it, turning into Orochi Iori; a fierce fighter who
thrives for nothing less than the blood of his victims.

This time, Iori has joined forces with Jun Kagami and Miu Kurosaki, two Jyu-Shu
Sinpou. Unknown to Iori, these two have different plans than he. They want to
use Iori to get to the Orochi seal.

            WHY USE IORI?
-------------------------

One reason: He's excellent. His style of fighting is both savage and skillful,
and has a great reach in his attacks, and if used correctly, he is a
devastating force to beckon with. If used incorrectly, he is merely a slow
fighter, incapable of great power.

"But I don't know how to use him! What if I use him incorrectly," you may ask.
This is what this guide is for; to teach you how to use him correctly.

===============================================================================

                         .-----------------------------.
KING OF FIGHTERS EX2 SYSTEM
                         .-----------------------------.

                   BASICS
-------------------------

This is not for every character; these are Yagami-specific basics. Some of
these are even more useful than the special attacks, if used correctly.

SP when near - Sakahagi
This attack is a very useful uppercut. It will bring an opponent down
     instantly, if times correctly.
F + WP, WP - Yumebiki
Makes it much easier to reach the opponent, and will help during advances
     by a stronger opponent.
D + SK - Low Dropkick
This will trip the opponent. It is excellent after an aerial attack.
F + SP when touching opponent - Grapple
Use this to get rid of an annoying opponent (or friend) who is walking too
much. It will throw them away, as well as doing a decent amount of damage.
F + SK when touching opponent - Reverse Grapple
Use this, instead of the standard grapple, if you want to get on the
opposite side of your opponent (Example; if you're cornered).

        MAX BATTLE SYSTEM
-------------------------

Under your life bar, you will see a small, thin bar. As you attack, you will
see the bar starts to fill. When it reaches a third of its capacity, a green
bar will cover that section. Keep filling it to another third, and a second
green bar will appear next to the first. Do this one more time, and the entire
bar will turn yellow, with "MAX" written over it in red.

Once this is completely filled, you are able to use your MAX attack. The MAX
attack is a super-powered version of your main special attack (in Iori's case,
the Maiden Masher). After using the attack, your MAX bar goes back to 0.
Each major special attack (Iori's Maiden Masher or Gloom Gouger) will cause one
bar to drain.

Example: Iori uses enough Baked Demons to fill his MAX bar with two green bars.
He then uses one Gloom Gouger. This uses up one of the two green bars.
Iori then uses other various attacks, and fills his MAX bar to MAX.
He then uses Maiden Masher MAX, which is only available at MAX status.
This uses one of the green bars, leaving him without MAX status, but
still with two green bars remaining for further Maiden Masher attacks.

         ADVANCED SYSTEMS
-------------------------

STRIKER SYSTEM
Press L+B when your opponent is near the centre, or your default side of the
arena, and your striker ally (character shown at the bottom of the screen) will
appear and attack them. You can still call your ally out, when the opponent is
not in the centre, but it is more likely to miss. This is useful in a combo, or
as a desparation attack.

MASTER SYSTEM
At the end of each tournament (in story mode), you will be given a rank. Keep
using that same character, and, eventually, they will be given a Master
ranking. After this has been acheived, press L+R during normal gameplay, to
activate Master Mode. During Master Mode, you are able to use your MAX attack
an unlimited amount of times, and are able to perform a super cancel during
special attacks. However, during Master Mode, you are unable to block cancel
any aerial attacks or emergency escapes.

===============================================================================

                              .-----------------.
SPECIAL ATTACKS
                              .-----------------.

              DARK THRUST
-------------------------
QCF + WP/SP

The strong version (using strong punch) will cause this attack to go fast,
making it harder for the opponent to react. The weak version (weak punch) is
good for airborne opponents, and those unsure about how fast the attack is
(they will most likely jump, and land on the attack).

              BAKED DEMON
-------------------------
F,D,DF + WP/SP

Good for the end of a combo string. Use the strong version for more hits, and
the weak version for a quicker attack. Also, to chain this into a longer combo,
press L+B whilst your opponent is falling. If it's timed correctly, your
striker will appear for added damage and a bigger chain in the combo.

              BLUE FLOWER
-------------------------
HCB + WP/SP (x3)

The weak version will have shorter distance than the stronger, but is more
useful in combo attacks. This can be used up to three times in succession.

         HARP MOON SHADOW
-------------------------
HCB + WK/SK

If you want to keep an opponent down, this is the perfect move. Use it after
a chain of combo attacks, or a couple long-range attacks. It will cause two
attacks, with decent damage on the second.

             EVENING GAIL
-------------------------
HCB,F + WP/SP

Switches places with the opponent. Great when you're either stuck in a corner,
or are yet to master attacking from the opposite side.

            MAIDEN MASHER
-------------------------
QCF,HCB + WP/SP

Does an 8-chain combo, followed by a nice, fiery headbutt, to finish things
off. Great for a finisher, or to create a long combo. Uses one MAX bar.

             GLOOM GOUGER
-------------------------
QCF,QCF + WP/SP

A 3-hit combo. Will send the opponent flying after two Dark Thrusts, and then
finishes with a beam of Orochi energy, shooting from the ground beneath him.
Great finisher, great when your wanting to end a combo with style, or end with
the striker's attack. Uses one MAX bar.

        MAIDEN MASHER MAX
-------------------------
QCF,HCB + WP/SP + MAX

Same as Maiden Masher, only more powerful. Can only be used at MAX status;
drains one bar.

USEFUL HINTS
                               .--------------.

    CREATING CHAIN COMBOS
-------------------------

The best way to do this is to use multiple-attack moves, such as Gloom Gouger,
or Baked Demon. Add a Yumebiki in, and a striker's attack at the end, and you
have a nice little attack.

A Sakahagi, followed by a Dark Thrust, and quickly followed by a Gloom Gouger,
can be very useful, especially when your opponent has an advantage on you,
health-wise.

The key to combo-creating is simplified by one word: Experiment.

         FIGHTING THE CPU
-------------------------

At the very beginning, stand at the opposite end from your opponent. Watch
their attacks. Think about their style; is it power, speed, air, or defense?
Iori has moves for each strategy, and different ones can be used as an
advantage against any style of fighting.

    EXPLOITING A WEAKNESS
-------------------------

Iori's attacks cover a wide variety of tactics, and can be used in many
different scenarios. If your opponent jumps a lot, use the Sakahagi. If they
crouch, use the low Dropkick. Think about what attacks are useful in certain
scenarios. The more you memorise, the easier it will be to counter.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
                          .----------------------------.

Q: How do I beat <insert character's name>?
A: Exploit their weakness, learn their strategy, and use Iori's attacks to
   their disadvantage.

Q: What is the best striker to use?
A: There are two options; your favourite, or the one you're most effective
   with.

Q: What about his punches and kicks? Why aren't they included?
A: They're fairly basic. I decided against included them, since they're pretty
much the same for each character, only displayed in a different fashion.
