Welcome to Autocon's Medabots: Rokusho/Metabee Walkthrough
Version 1.1, last updated 27JUL05

Based on USA Medabots: Rokusho/Metabee games

Next planned update: when I get more info...

This guide is finished, but a few things are still missing. Anything with a ***
means the info is either unverified, a guess, or missing in this version.

When emailing please include "Medabots" or "Medabots: Rokusho" or "Medabots:
Metabee" or something directly referring to Medabots in the subject line, and
also include the version number of this guide in your email. If "Medabots" or
something directly referring to Medabots isn't in the subject your email may be
automatically filtered into the trash. So please put something related to
Medabots (preferably the word "Medabots") in the subject. And please don't
email me about Medabots AX, since I don't have either AX game. Please read the
guide and the FAQ section before emailing.

1 About This Walkthrough
========================

Before you read the actual walkthrough there are a few things you should know
about this guide. It was written using both versions, and carefully compared to
both versions. Since the two versions are nearly identical it can be used for
both games. If something is different in either game (such as Medals found or
Medabots encountered) I make a note of it like this:

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
If it is Rokusho version only.
---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- -+End+- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---

==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== Metabee ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==
If it is Metabee version only.
==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== =+End+= ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==

So if you have the Rokusho version, just look for the sword (---+-), and if
you have the Metabee version, just look for the head cannon (==+==). I know the
text art doesn't look all that great, but it serves its purpose.

  Now to explain the sections:
- Updates - lists what happened in each update
- Contents - tells where to find what
- About This Walkthrough - what you are currently reading
- Basics - explains a few basic things, like how to make a Medabot, and the
           controls
- Walkthrough - should be obvious :)
- Linking - how to link, and what linking does
- Frequently Asked Question - send them in and I'll answer them, if I can
- Thanks - thanking everyone who helped make this guide what it is
- Legal Stuff - covering all the bases and protecting my work

Now you are ready to read this guide. I hope you enjoy the game, and get a
lot of use out of this guide!

instruction booklet.

 2.1 Controls

We'll start with controls. Medabots is played using these buttons:

Start - Starts the game at the Title Screen
Select - Reorder Medabots/Medals/items (instruction booklet says not used)

Note - the DS is set up slightly differently, but the controls are still the
same.

 2.2 Title Screen
 ----------------
Now that you know the controls, I'll go over the Title Screen. Obviously, you
should press Start, since that is what it says to do. You are given 3 options
(or just two if you haven't played before) - Continue, New Game, and Options.
Highlight the choice you want by using the D PAD and then press A. If you
choose Options you are given 3 choices. Pressing UP or DOWN will switch between
the choices, and pressing LEFT or RIGHT will choose that choice's options.
  The options are as follows:
Robattle Time - Long (40 sec), Normal (30 sec), or Short (20 sec)
Choose how long battles last, measured in seconds.
Robattle Message - On (displayed) or Off (not displayed)
Choose whether or not to show messages during battle.
messages include the following two and others:
"[type of action] [action used]" "Action failed [reason]"
 Robattle BGM - ?1, ?2, or ?3
The instruction book says you can mix your own tune, but you
can't. Just choose a tune you like. Oh, this is the music
                played during Robattles.
When you are through choosing your Options just press the A Button again.

 2.3 Medabots
 ------------
Once you start playing you will soon realize the fun (and whole point) of
Medabots is customizing your Medabots. A Medabot is made up of 6 parts:
Tinpet - the basic frame, in other words the skeleton
Medal - the control circuit, or brain, of the Medabot
Head - the head Medapart, which usually has a limited amount of uses
Right Arm - the right arm Medapart, which is usually faster and less powerful
Left Arm - the left arm Medapart, which is usually slower and more powerful
Legs - the legs Medapart, which controls how fast a Medabot moves
Each Medapart is unique. Although many Medaparts have the same move (such as
Berserk action Hammer) the power, health, and speeds of each part are
different. No two parts are alike. There are some that have the exact same
stats, but the abilities are different.
There is something else you should be aware of - there are two types of
Tinpets, male and female. Male Tinpets are blue, female Tinpets are pink. Each
Medapart is also either male (denoted by a blue "male" symbol, which is a
circle with an arrow pointing up) or female (denoted by a pink "female" symbol,
which is a circle with a + hanging down).
To customize a Medabot you must be in the Medabot menu. Once you are actually
playing, and have a Medabot and Medawatch, press B to bring up the menu. Choose
Medawatch, then choose Medabot. You will notice 9 pedestals, and a Medabot (or
more, depending on how many you have) on one (or more) pedestal(s). Select the
Medabot you wish to edit and press A. Now for the fun part!
On the left is an image of your Medabot. Press R or L to switch the angle to
get a better look at each side. Press UP or DOWN to select the part to change,
and LEFT or RIGHT to cycle through Medaparts/Medals. Press A to see the stats
of the selected Medapart/Medal. You can also press LEFT or RIGHT on the stats
screen to cycle through Medaparts/Medals. A quick way to build is to just press
START (in the Medabot build menu, not the Medapart stats) and a complete
Medabot will be built. Continue pressing START and you will cycle through
complete Medabots. The complete Medabot that will be built is influenced by
three things:
 - The part you have selected.
For example, if you currently have the Right Arm selected, the complete
Medabot will be built using the nearest complete set of Medaparts to the
    current Medapart on that arm.
 - Do you have a complete set of Medaparts?
A set is all four parts (Head, both Arms, and the Legs). If you don't have
a complete set, the game will skip over the parts until it finds a complete
set. If it doesn't find a complete set, an empty Tinpet will be the result.
Also, if you have a complete set, but one part is being used by a different
Medabot, that set will be treated as incomplete (unless you have more than
    one of that part).
 - Is a complete Medabot already built?
If so, the game will change to the next complete set.
One last word about Medabots before I go - you can reorder your Medabots by
pressing SELECT. This means press SELECT while the cursor is on Medabot "A",
then move the cursor to Medabot "B" and press SELECT again, and those two
Medabots will change places. You can also use this to move a Medabot to an
empty pedestal if you so desire. You can reorder Medals and Items with SELECT
as well, at the appropriate menu screen, of course.

 2.4 Medapart Stats
 ------------------
Since I've explained parts, why don't I explain what each stat on a part
does? Here goes:
             Head
Armor: health of the part, if this reaches 0, the part breaks.
Rate of Success: the higher the number, the better the chance of the action
being successful (depending of certain things like enemy
Evade and Medal compatibility) - abbreviated ROS.
Power: the strength of the ability, the higher the better. Also
note that a pink circle with a blue arrow next to the number
means the Medapart has Chain Reaction, which means it can
continue to hit other Medaparts if it breaks a Medapart.
Amount of Uses: how many times you can use the ability in a battle.
*note* - after each battle the armor and amount of uses are reset back to
their default amounts, so the next battle will start with full armor
          and full amount of uses.

             Arms
            Armor: same as the head.
Rate of Success: same as the head.
            Power: same as the head.
Charge: how long the ability takes to be used, in other words how
long your Medabot spends walking toward the center of the
battle screen, lower numbers are best - abbreviated CRG.
Radiation: how long the ability takes to cool down, in other words how
long your Medabot spends walking back to the side of the
battle screen, lower numbers are best - abbreviated RAD.

             Legs
            Armor: same as the head.
Propulsion: increases the speed of CRG/RAD and the efficiency of
Furious (I think that means attacks where your Medabot
                   jumps?) and Trap Clear.
Evasion: the higher the number, the better the chance of dodging an
attack, if the attack can be dodged (not all can).
Defense: cuts down on damage dealt by enemies to the legs, and a
                   higher number is best.
Proximity: influences the success of Strike, Berserk, Defend, and Heal
                   actions; higher numbers are best.
Remoteness: influences the success of Shoot, Aim Shot, Support and
Interrupt actions, and higher numbers are best.

Also, each part has a specific type of action and an affinity, displayed in
blue boxes to the left of the stats. The type of action is listed first, with a
symbol next to the type. The symbol is either two arrows pointing towards each
other (left to right) or two arrows pointing away from each other (up and
down). Sideways arrows show the part is influenced by Proximity, and up and
down arrows show the part is influenced by Remoteness. The affinity is listed
in the bottom blue box, and shows what Medal the part works with best.

And that brings us to the Medals. Each Medal has 4 pages of stats.
The first page, labeled Ability, shows the affinity of the Medal (the blue
box), what that Medal targets first (the red box), the name of the medal (the
orange box in the top right), and the compatibility bonus of the medal (a small
blue box with an orange number and a green circle).
The second page, labeled Medaforce, contains the Medaforces the Medal has
learned. Medaforces are learned at level 10, 30, and 60. The Medaforces are
listed by level learned (level 10 Medaforce is listed first, then the level
30...), and next to each name is a symbol. The symbol shows who is targeted by
that Medaforce. The symbols include 3 arrows pointing right on a red background
(all enemies), 1 arrow pointing right on a red background (one enemy), 3 arrows
pointing left on a blue background (all allies), and 1 arrow pointing left on a
blue background (self). Selecting a Medaforce displays a brief description of
that Medaforce in the box at the bottom, and the Medaforce's skill affinity to
the right. The skill affinity shows what skill the Medaforce uses, so you know
what skill to level up in order to improve that Medaforce. For instance, a
Medaforce that uses the Berserk skill does more damage if the Berserk level is
higher.
The third page, labeled Rotation, is the Medal's battle auto-pilot setup
screen. In battle selecting the Auto option makes the Medabot follow the
actions you have setup on this screen. Press A to switch to the Action box.
Press UP or DOWN to choose an action, and LEFT or RIGHT to go to the previous
or next action. The actions you can choose from are:
   H - use the Head's ability.
   R - use the Right Arm's ability.
   L - use the Left Arm's ability.
  MF - charge Medaforce
MF1 - use Medaforce 1 (the Medaforce learned at lvl 10)
MF2 - use Medaforce 2 (the Medaforce learned at lvl 30)
MF3 - use Medaforce 3 (the Medaforce learned at lvl 60)
   ? - perform a random action
If the action you have setup can't be done (either because the part has no
ability or it was broken) the Medabot will perform a random action instead.
Pressing A again will then show an arrow above the Action box. Press LEFT or
RIGHT and the arrows in the Repetition box will move left or right. This is
useful if you want the Medabot to use an ability only once or twice, then just
repeat the last couple of actions you have setup. When the Medabot has
performed all the actions you have setup, it will start over from the left
arrow and continually repeat the process until the battle ends. An example may
be in order to help explain this:
 1 2 3
 H L L L L L L L H L R L R L R L H R H R L R L R
   > > > > > > | > | > > > |
   |___________< |_< |_____<
In example 1, the Medabot will use the Head Medapart once, then only use the
Left Arm Medapart until the battle is over. In example 2, the Medabot starts
off with the Head Medapart, then alternates between Left Arm and Right Arm.
When the Medabot reaches the end, it returns to the first arrow, which is Right
Arm, and continues the Left/Right chain until the battle ends. In example 3 the
Medabot uses the Head Medapart, then the Right Arm, then the Head, then the
Right Arm, and then alternates between Left and Right for the rest of the
battle.
The fourth and last page, labeled Skill, show the proficiency of the Medal
with each of the 8 skills. Simply put, it shows how good the Medal is with a
skill. The 8 skills are listed with Proximity skills on the left and Remoteness
skills on the right. Each time you use a Medapart a skill will increase by one
point. If you use a Strike action Medapart the Strike skill will increase one
point, etc. When a skill has 8 points it will level up. Under each word is a
black rectangle with lines in it. As you use skills and increase their points
the lines will turn into small boxes. When the skill levels up the boxes turn
back into lines and the process starts again. The level of the skill is shown
next to the black rectangle, on the right side of the skill box. The max level
is 100 for any skill - once it reaches 100 it can't level up anymore.

 2.5 Statuses
 ------------
As you play Medabots you will undoubtedly be affected by the many statuses.
There are a few main status types, with several different variations:

AutoRecover - the opposite of Flow, recovers damage during CRG/RAD
                Variations: AutoRecover
Animation: a pink heart floats in front of the affected Medabot
Bind - slows down CRG/RAD, in other words the Medabot walks 2x slower
                Variations: Hold, Wave, Drain Chrg
Animation: an orange hourglass hovers behind the affected
                           Medabot
 Can't Defend - can't defend, can use Half Block/Full Block/Defence, but they
won't cause the Medabot to protect allies
                Variations: No Defense
Animation: a blue shield with a red X over it hovers behind the
                           affected Medabot
Can't Evade - can't evade, or dodge, any attacks
                Variations: No Escape
Animation: an icon of a running person with a red X over it
                           hovers behind the affected Medabot
Chaos - the Medabot will perform a random action, and target a random
Medabot (friend or foe, for all actions)
                Variations: Confusion
Animation: three question marks rotate behind the affected
                           Medabot
Counter - reflects a strong attack, and doesn't receive damage, but still
                takes damage from weak attacks
                Variations: CntrAttk

 2.6 Robattle
 ------------
I've talked a lot about battles now, so I'll explain how to battle. In
Medabots battling is called Robattling. When you are challenged to a Robattle
you have two options - either accept the challenge, press A and choose what
Medabots to use, or decline by pressing START and using a Rubberobo Medal (if
you have some) to avoid the battle.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to win the Robattle. If you
win you will get one of the opponent's Medaparts. If you lose, the opponent
will get one of yours, or, if it was a boss battle, the game will end.
When you accept the challenge you get to choose what Medabot(s) to use. You
can use up to 3 Medabots per Robattle. The first Medabot you choose will be the
Leader, and the other two will be Partners. This is important! If the leader
"dies" or ceases to function (if the armor of the Head Medapart reaches 0) the
Robattle is over. It works both ways, though, so the Robattle also ends if the
opponent's Leader ceases to function. It is generally a good idea to choose
Medabots with high Evade/Defense/Armor for the Leader position.
Once you've chosen your Medabots the Robattle begins. Your Medabots start on
the left, and your opponent's on the right. When a Medabot reaches the center
it will perform the action you told it to do. This is where the Charge (CRG)
and Radiation (RAD) numbers really count. Charge is how long it takes to reach
the center, and Radiation is how long it takes to get back to the starting
place. Remember, lower numbers mean faster Medabots!

Once the Robattle begins you will notice 6 icons near the bottom of the
screen. If you press LEFT or RIGHT you will rotate through these icons.

The first icon is the Medapart icon, and looks like a small person. Press A
and you will be given 4 options - UP to use the Head Medapart, LEFT to use
the Right Arm, RIGHT to use the Left Arm, and DOWN to charge Medaforce.
The second icon is Medaforce, and looks like the letters MF. This icon also
has 4 options - UP to use Medaforce 1, LEFT to use Medaforce 2, RIGHT to use
Medaforce 3, and DOWN to charge Medaforce. I'll talk more about Medaforce in
  a minute.
The third icon is the Status icon, and is a magnifying glass. Choosing this
option brings you to a screen that shows your Medabot and lists the Medal and
parts the Medabot is equipped with. Press UP or DOWN to browse through your
Medabots currently in the Robattle, or press L or R to switch between your
  Medabots and your opponents.
The fourth icon is the Aim icon, shaped like cross-hairs. Choosing this tells
what Medapart types the current Medabot aims at.
The fifth icon is the Rotation icon, and looks like two arrows. This option
takes you to the Rotation menu (the same screen I discussed earlier with
the Medals). See the 2.4 Medapart Stats for more info.
The sixth and last icon is the Auto icon, and looks like the word "Auto".
Choosing this makes the Medabot automatically follow the rotation you
programmed for that Medabot's Medal. Once you choose Auto you can switch back
to manual (allowing you to choose the next action) by rapidly pressing the B
button until you get control again. Pressing B won't work if your Medabot is
confused, however. Also, the rotation is "turn" specific, which means if you
set it up to use the Head, then Right Arm, and manually use the Left Arm
first, then switch to Auto, the next action will be Right Arm, not Head.

Battles are timed. Depending on the option you chose before you started
playing the battle will last for either 40, 30, or 20 seconds, or until you
defeat the leader. Time only counts when the Medabots are moving toward the
center or away from the center. Time does NOT count when you are deciding what
to do or when the Medabots are performing the actions you (or your opponent)
told them to do. If the timer runs out, the battle ends, and the Medafighter
with the most Medabots wins. If you both have the same amount of Medabots, then
the one with the most Medaparts wins. If, however, you have 3 Medabots and they
each only have a Head, and your opponent has 1 Medabot and that Medabot has all
4 Medaparts with full armor, I'm not sure, but I think the opponent would win.

 2.7 Abilities
 ------------
First off, I'll explain Medaforces, since I've promised to a few times now...
A Medaforce is a special ability unique to each Medal. Each Medal has 3
Medaforces, but you must level the Medal up to a certain level in order to
learn those Medaforces. I've already explained that, so on to new ground. You
use a Medaforce in battle by using the Medaforce icon. Before you can use a
Medaforce, you must meet two conditions. Number one, you must have learned that
Medaforce by leveling up, and number two, you must have a full Medaforce gauge.
The Medaforce gauge is displayed under the Medabot's name on the Robattle
screen. A full gauge is 80 points. Charging Medaforce adds 40 points, and
getting hit by an enemy adds 20. Certain things can influence the amount of
Medaforce gained, but you'll learn that later on. Once you have a full gauge
(80 points) use the MF icon and choose a Medaforce. If it says "MF Low!" then
you don't have a full gauge. If it says "Unmastered" then you don't know that
Medaforce yet. Also, Medaforces are UNBLOCKABLE, except for status Medaforces,
which won't affect some Medabots. Status Medaforces are treated just like any
other status.

Now for Medapart abilities. Each Medapart has a unique ability, well, maybe
not so unique since many parts have the same ability... Anyway, the abilities
fall into 8 main categories, which are the 8 categories found on the Medals:
 - Strike
   a quick Grapple attack
 - Berserk
a powerful Grapple attack, but you can't evade after using this ability, and
   usually has Chain Reaction
 - Defend
defensive ability, used to block damage or protect allies
 - Heal
used to restore HP (Armor) of Medaparts, bring back broken Medaparts, or
   revive dead Medabots
 - Shoot
   a quick ranged (Shot) attack
 - Aim Shot
a powerful ranged (Shot) attack, but you can't evade after using this
   ability
 - Support
   aids allies
 - Interrupt
cancels attacks, Medaparts, actions, and/or abilities
or can do Strike, Berserk, Defend, Heal, Shoot, Aim Shot, or Support
abilities/actions through Transform, an ability that changes the Interrupt
part into another Medapart. Any action performed then is Interrupt (for
instance, the part could change into Pipo Hammer, which would then do
Interrupt action Hammer instead of Berserk action Hammer, but it would still
   have Chain Reaction)

Now I'll try to explain the types of attacks/actions that fall within these
categories, and there are many:

            | | the original part
CntrAttk | Defend | The (small) Medabot tosses out a ball, it turns into

            | | glove floating in front of them, and will reflect
            | | (bounce back and not take damage from) a powerful
            | | attack, but weak attacks still hurt

            | | a sonic soundwave around the affected Medabot,

            | | confused

            | | time the first Medabot becomes afflicted by the Time

 2.8 Vehicles
 ------------
The only other thing I feel needs explaining is Vehicles. As you progress
throughout the game you will get 4 vehicles. Three of the vehicles require
specific Medabots to use, and one requires you to pass a certain point in the
game before you can use it. You should notice the Vehicle option when you open
the menu (the menu with Medawatch, Item, Vehicle, and Save). To use a vehicle,
just go to the Vehicle menu, select the Vehicle you want to use, and press A.
If the icon is grayed out (not displayed in color) then you can't use that
vehicle. There are a few reasons why that could be:
 - The area you are at doesn't allow vehicles.
 - You are already on a different vehicle, just get off it first by selecting
    it again.
 - You don't have the complete Medabot built, just go build it
If at any time you lose the parts for you vehicles, you can go to the Medabot
Research Lab and buy the parts. They cost quite a bit of money, so try not to
lose them. Oh, the Lab is the building you start the game in, the one with Dr.
Aki and his granddaughter Nae. The scientists who sell the parts are the three
at the long control panel in the room right before Dr. Aki's. They only sell
the parts after you get the initial vehicle, though.

The four vehicles are as follows:
Mini S. Wheel - Landmotor Medabot, a car, use almost anywhere to drive around
Notes: no random Robattles while on Landmotor
Silver Locket - Necklace locket/rocket, allows you to travel back in time
Notes: must beat the game to use this item
Wings of Wind - Femjet Medabot, a jet, use to fly to most places on the map
Notes: a quick take off/drop off vehicle, can't use to just
cruise around the world at high altitudes... oh well
Periscope - Aquamar Medabot, a submarine, lets you swim if there is water
Notes: you can swim anywhere there is water, even inside
                        buildings that contain water

 2.9 Saving
 ----------
Oh, that reminds me, the Save option can be a tiny bit confusing to first
time players, and very frustrating to long time players. When you choose Save,
the game, in all its wisdom, asks if you wish to overwrite. So if you want to
save you will need to select Yes twice. Also, the default option is No, so you
actually have to select Yes. I wish they hadn't done that, it makes saving in a
hurry difficult...
As for when to save, I recommend anytime you get a new Medapart, a Medal
levels up, or you win a boss battle. Also, anytime I add SAVE NOW to my
walkthrough you should read ahead and see why, I usually have a good reason.

=============
3 Walkthrough
=============
Before I begin, I need to make sure you understand a few abbreviations I'll
be using in my walkthrough. They are as follows:
CRG - The Charge value of arm Medaparts, how long it takes to do an action
HP - Health Points, the amount of Armor a Medapart has
LVL - Level, the level of the Medal
MF - Medaforce, the super move of the Medals, learned at lvls 10, 30, & 60
RAD - The Radiation value, how long it takes to recover from an action
ROS - The Rate of Success of Medaparts, the accuracy

 3.1 Riverview City
 ------------------

  3.1a A Rare Medabot
  """""""""""""""""""
You start off in the Medabot Research Lab. After a short dialog you gain
control of your character. Head up through the door and then head left. You
will enter a small room with a balding scientist named Dr. Aki. Talk to him,
then name your character. For the sake of this guide the main character will be
called Ikki. Dr. Aki then tells you to visit his granddaughter, Nae. Leave Dr.
Aki's room and walk up. A scientist blocks the door, but if you talk to him he
will move and let you through because Nae will make him.
Follow Nae through the door. Nae will explain a few things about Medabots,
and then you can run around and do as you please. Talk to everyone (or don't,
it doesn't really matter), then leave. The exit is down from where you
originally started. If you like you can visit the Medabot Museum next door, but
you don't have to.
After checking the time Ikki decides to rush home. His house is in the
bottom-right corner of town, and isn't too hard to find. Just look for the blue
house with a red roof and brown trimwork. Head inside and Ikki will rush
upstairs. When you regain control walk up to the TV and press A. The local
Medabot station, Medabots Weekly, will demonstrate how to build a Medabot using
the version specific Medabot. This means Rokusho players learn how to build
Rokusho, and Metabee players learn how to build Metabee. After the show Ikki's
mom will turn off the TV, scold Ikki, then tell him to run to the store and buy
some Spice-A-Roni. She gives him $50 and sends him on his way ($50?? This must
be some expensive food!). You can watch a video of Medabots Weekly by turning
on the TV again, but you won't see anything this time... Anyway, go downstairs
and leave the house.
Move up and find a gray building with a pink and blue pattern around the top,
and a big spinning sign. It is directly up from Ikki's house. Enter the store
and watch a young man get chewed out by an angry older guy. After the older guy
(the boss) leaves, talk to the young man. He'll sell you a Medabot instead of
Spice-A-Roni. For just $49.80 you get 4 Medaparts and a male Tinpet. The parts
you get are version specific, either Rokusho or Metabee parts. When you leave
the store Henry will say a few words that add to the plot...
Run home and try to explain to Ikki's mom what happened. She'll send him to
his room. Once there Ikki will build the Medabot. After a brief moment he'll
realize something is missing... The screen fades out and shows a man running
towards Ikki's house. That man is Ikki's Dad. Then a weird guy will start
talking. He introduces himself as the Phantom Renegade. You'll see this
character a lot throughout the game... This time he gives Ikki's Dad a Medal
(either Kuwagata/Rokusho or Kabuto/Metabee). He then commands Ikki's Dad to
give it to Ikki, and leaves as mysteriously as he appeared.
The scene then switches to Ikki's bedroom. Ikki's Dad (hereafter just called
"Dad") enters the room and notices the Medabot. After pointing out the obvious,
that Medabots only work with Medals (hence the "Meda" part of Medabot), Dad
puts the Medal in the Medabot, then gives you a Medawatch. Now you get to name
the Medal. It would probably be a good idea to SAVE the game now.

  3.1b Robattles Galore
  """""""""""""""""""""
When you leave your house a girl will stop you and take a photo. She is
Erika, the local school reporter. After a little small talk she challenges you
to a Robattle. If you need help Robattling see the Basics section at the
beginning of this walkthrough. This is one of the few Robattles where you won't
win a Medapart if you win the Robattle (or lose a Medapart if you lose the
Robattle). At this time, the only Medabot you can use is Rokusho/Metabee. Erika
is using her favorite Medabot, Brass. For a more detailed strategy (well, it is
the same strategy, actually, but it has stats for Brass) see my Medabots:
Rokusho/Metabee Secrets, Sidequests, and Supplemental Info Guide's section 3
Boss Strategies. Anytime there is a boss battle check the Boss Strategies
section in that guide for detailed stats and helpful strategies.

  <<<Boss Battle: Erika>>>
[ Medabot: Brass ]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Scout, Rifle, Chain Gun]

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Start the Robattle by using Support action Scout (the Head), then follow up
with Berserk action Hammer (the Left Arm). Brass should lose in no time. If you
lose your Left Arm, the Pipo Hammer, use the Right Arm's Strike action Sword
instead. This battle is very easy.
---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- -+End+- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---

==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== Metabee ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==
Start the Robattle by using Shoot action Missile (the Head), and continue
until you run out of uses. When that happens, use the Aim Shot action Chain Gun
(Left Arm) instead. If you lose that arm, or you miss, use the Shoot action
Rifle (Right Arm) instead.
==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== =+End+= ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==

Congratulations, you've just finished your first Robattle. After the Robattle
Erika remembers about a contest at the school. Follow her to find a big
building. This is the school. DON'T ENTER YET!!! Save first, because you'll
have the first of many unfair Robattles just after you enter.
After saving enter the building. You'll appear in a schoolyard, and Ikki will
walk up to Erika. After a few questions about the contest you're able to walk
around. Head up and you'll notice three people grouped together. Behind them is
a sign that says 12-07. The spiky haired guy on the left is Spyke, a computer
whiz. The guy on the left wearing the red hat is Sloan, who is obsessed with
laundry. The girl in the middle is Samantha, the leader of the Screws and a
somewhat bossy girl. Now that you know who the Screws are you will be given the
option of Robattling them. Choose Yes and the fun begins. The first opponent is
Sloan.

  <<<Boss Battle: Sloan>>>
[ Medabot: Totalizer]
[ Medal: Tortoise ]
[Abilities: Laser ]

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Start the Robattle by using Scout, then follow up with Hammer. Sloan's
Totalizer shouldn't hurt you too much, he'll just get in one hit (if you don't
break the part he was gonna use). If you lose, it is Game Over, so try to win,
okay?
---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- -+End+- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---

==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== Metabee ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==
Start the Robattle by using Chain Gun. After you destroy the feet, or when
you get them weak (under 20 HP) switch to Missile until you run out. Then go
back to Chain Gun, or use Rifle if you don't have your Submachinegun arm
anymore. If you lose, it is Game Over, so try to win, okay?
==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== =+End+= ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==

After defeating Sloan you will win one of his parts. Then it is time to face
the next opponent, Spyke, and all without being able to save. That is what
makes this so tough.

  <<<Boss Battle: Spyke>>>
[ Medabot: Cyandog]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Rifle ]

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Start the Robattle by using Scout, then follow up with Hammer. If you lose
your Left Arm, use Sword instead. Cyandog is faster than Totalizer, but far
less powerful. Just keep Hammering him and he should fall. This battle is
actually easier than the first.
---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- -+End+- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---

==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== Metabee ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==
Start with either Chain Gun or Missile. Continue using either, or alternating
between the two. Cyandog is faster than Totalizer, but less powerful, and
should die pretty quick. This battle is actually easier than the first.
==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== =+End+= ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==

After beating Spyke you get another new part, and find out you have yet
another Robattle ahead of you, still without being able to save. The leader of
the Screws (yes, that is actually the name of their group) is next, Samantha.

  <<<Boss Battle: Samantha>>>
[ Medabot: Peppercat]
[ Medal: Queen ]
[Abilities: Thunder ]

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Start the Robattle by using Scout, then follow up with Hammer. If you lose
your Left Arm, use Sword instead. Watch out for Peppercat's Thunder (although
there is nothing you can do), it will cause your Medabot to Stop momentarily.
Sometimes momentarily means a long time, sometimes it doesn't. Keep trying,
you'll win eventually.
---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- -+End+- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---

==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== Metabee ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==
Start the Robattle by using Missile, and continue until you run out of uses.
At that point the Robattle should be over, if not just use Rifle. Watch out for
Peppercat's Thunder (although there is nothing you can do), it will cause your
Medabot to Stop momentarily. Sometimes momentarily means a long time, sometimes
it doesn't. Keep trying, you'll win eventually.
==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== =+End+= ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==

After you finally defeat Samantha, and get yet another new part, SAVE YOUR
GAME! You don't want to go through that again (I hope - you're a sicko if you
do). After winning you'll notice you can equip Rokusho/Metabee with 2 of the 3
parts you won, but not the one you won from Samantha. This is because
Samantha's part is a FEMALE part, only compatible with female Tinpets. You
obviously don't have a female Tinpet yet, so just hold onto the part for future
use.

  3.1c Riverview Public School
  """"""""""""""""""""""""""""
Anyway, after the fight Erika will comment on the Robattles, and then the
Screws will play nasty and start a 3 on 1 Robattle. Fortunately for you, this
isn't an actual Robattle, and your Medabot will end things very quickly. Admire
the cool cutscene for a moment, then press A to continue. When it is all over
Erika talks on and on about your Medabot (and says some not so nice things
about you), then she runs off. Walk around the school and encounter a few
random Robattles. Try to earn all the parts of the 3 random Medabots here.
Oh, I guess I should list the random Medabots, shouldn't I? Hmmm, from now on
the list will be at the beginning of each sub-section, okay? I list the Medabot
(or group of Medabots if more than one are in the Robattle), the Medabot's
Medal(s) (just so you know what Medaforces will be used against you), and each
individual Medapart. The layout will be like this:

Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
(for no partners, single Medabot battles)

Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
Partner Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
(for one partner, two Medabot battles)

Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
Partner 1 Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
Partner 2 Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
(for two partners, three Medabot battles)

Medabot's Name (Medal) - Head, Right Arm, Left Arm, Legs
 x2
(if the Robattle has 2 of that Medabot)

Why list the Medal? After a certain point in the game your opponents will
start using Medaforces. If you know the Medal the Medabot is using, you will
know what Medaforces that Medabot can use. That's why I list the Medal. I list
each part so you know if you have them all or not. Anyway, here is the list for
this sub-section:

~~Robattles:~~
Churlybear (Bear) - Spreader, Smasher, Splasher, Anti-Grav

Kintaro (Cat) - Sumo Press, Light Axe, Great Axe, Kinta Leg

Krosserdog (?) - Head Cannon, Aim Rifle, Battle Rifle, Howzer

~~Battlefields:~~
Forest (inside the school) - use Two Legged Medaparts
Plain (in schoolyard) - use Two Legged Medaparts

After listing the Robattles and Battlefields I'll usually have a brief
paragraph about the Medabots or battlefields, just so you know what you're
getting into. This time there isn't much to say, other than Krosserdog is very
rare, and hard to find. It has been my experience that he appears roughly 10%
of the time...
If nothing else at least collect the Great Axe and Kinta Leg, both are good
to have. The Great Axe is a fast Berserk type weapon that has Chain Reaction,
and the Kinta Legs are great for forests and plains, the battlefields you'll
find in the school. Don't ask why the school is a forest, I don't know...
Probably because your Medabot started with Two-Legged legs, which are best on
Forests and Plains... Anyway, find the parts and try to level your Medal up to
at least level 10. When you do it will change shape (the image on the Medal
will change) and you will gain your first Medaforce.
As you run through the school be sure and visit the classrooms. If you need
Robattle tips check the flowerpot on the bookshelf near the chalkboard in each
classroom. There are four on each floor, in case you are wondering. There are
three people in the school who will challenge you to a Robattle:
Boy - Kintaro, found in the top-left classroom on the first floor
Boy - Kintaro, found in the bottom-right class on the second floor
Teacher - Tankar, found in the teacher's lounge (the man in the brown suit)

Tankar (?) - Victory Armor, Vulcan, Gatling Gun, Armor Car
 x2

A brief word about the Tankar battle - there are two Tankar Medabots, and
they are super slow in this battlefield. You shouldn't have any problems at
all. I personally suggest getting the Head Medapart, but you can get whatever
part you want (read ahead and you'll see how valuable the head part is!).
When you are content with your Medapart collection, and after you have talked
to Erika, leave the school.

  3.1d Time for Tickles
  """""""""""""""""""""
~~Robattles:~~
Churlybear (Bear) - Spreader, Smasher, Splasher, Anti-Grav

Kintaro (Cat) - Sumo Press, Light Axe, Great Axe, Kinta Leg

Krosserdog (?) - Head Cannon, Aim Rifle, Battle Rifle, Howzer

~~Battlefields:~~
Forest (inside the school) - use Two Legged Medaparts
Plain (in schoolyard) - use Two Legged Medaparts

The Robattles and battlefields are the same as the previous section.
It seems there is a Medabot tickling girls, and it is your job to find out
who that Medabot is. As you leave the school you will hear barking and then see
a girl. Salty, Ikki's dog, runs up followed by a girl named Karin. After a
little small talk Karin will leave. Now you can run all over town doing as you
please, although that means doing very little at this point.
Your first stop should be back at the Lab. It is located above and to the
right of the school. Head to Nae's room and talk to her. She will congratulate
you on getting a Medabot and give you a gift. The gift is your second Medal!
Head into the room on the right and choose one of the six Medals for your very
own. Don't worry, you'll come back five more times and eventually get all six.
From left to right and top to bottom the medals are:

  Bat Kappa Mouse
  Chameleon Rabbit Monkey

Check the Medals sub-section under the Medabots section for details on each
Medal. The choice is up to you. I personally chose the Chameleon Medal because
I wanted a Medal with Berserk, Shoot, and Support stats. You can go back to the
school and build up your second Medal's level if you like (but only if you
switch the Medal your Tinpet has equipped) - I personally don't, yet. Also, if
you have a lot of duplicate Medaparts you could sell some and buy some
Medaparts from the store. The store is the building you went to looking for
Spice-A-Roni, where you got Rokusho/Metabee instead... Check my Medabots:
Rokusho/Metabee Secrets, Sidequests, and Supplemental Info Guide's Shop section
for what this store (Hopmart) sells. Note that at this time only the first two
Medabots listed are available.
I would recommend buying some of the Jorat Medaparts, since they all use
Scout, an ability that will come in VERY handy. You could skip buying anything
if you like, since you can find these parts later on through random enemies.
Once you have all the parts you want, head to the warehouse. This is the
top-left building. Erika will walk up and ask you to help - it seems a
Medafighter from the neighboring town is wreaking havoc in the school. After
she leaves you should go back to the school.
NOTE - The same three Medabots and same two battlefields can be found at the
school again.
As soon as you enter the schoolyard, you will see this new Medafighter. The
Screws are also there, boasting as usual. After a few heated words a 3-on-1
Robattle takes place and the Medafighter wins. Shocked, the Screws revert to
plan B, run away and hide. After everyone else enters the building you will
regain control of Ikki. If your Kuwagata/Kabuto Medal isn't level 10 yet, level
it up to level 10. If you need to level up please do so in the courtyard or the
first floor of the building, but NOT the second floor. Once you are content
with your Medal's level, walk upstairs.
Before doing ANYTHING upstairs, SAVE YOUR GAME. A serious Robattle lies
ahead. You will battle the Medafighter that took on all 3 Screws at once and
won. Your first Medaforce (learned at level 10) will help in this battle. The
Medafighter's name is Koji, and his Medabot is different depending on the
version you are playing. He has either Sumilodon or Warbandit. Metabee players
will fight Sumilodon, and Rokusho players face Warbandit.
Once you decide you are strong enough to take on Koji, talk to Erika, then
head down. After a few brief words the Robattle will start.

  <<<Boss Battle: Koji>>>
[ Medabot: Warbandit / Sumilodon ]
[ Medal: ? / Cat ]
[Abilities: Boost Chrg, Rifle, Chain Gun / Shot Trap, Sword, Hammer]

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Start the Robattle by using Scout, then follow up with Hammer. If you lose
your Left Arm, use Sword instead. Warbandit likes to start off with his Boost
Chrg ability, which makes him faster, but usually doesn't help him win at all.
You shouldn't really have any problems with this Robattle. Oh, anytime your
Medaforce gauge fills up use your Medaforce. In case you don't know, the red
bar beneath your Medabot's name, to the left of the icons, with the numbers
0/80 above it is the Medaforce gauge. When it is completely red and says 80/80
then it is full, so use your Medaforce (the MF icon, top option, #1). Warbandit
is the easiest of Koji's Medabots.
---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- -+End+- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---

==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== Metabee ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==
Start the Robattle by using Chain Gun, then use Missile until you run out. At
that point the Robattle should be over, if not just use Chain Gun or Rifle.
Sumilodon likes to start off with his Shot Trap ability, which will deal damage
to you anytime you use Shoot or Aim Shot actions, but you can still win, so
don't panic. You shouldn't really have any problems with this Robattle. Oh,
anytime your Medaforce gauge fills up use your Medaforce. In case you don't
know, the red bar beneath your Medabot's name, to the left of the icons, with
the numbers 0/80 above it is the Medaforce gauge. When it is completely red and
says 80/80 then it is full, so use your Medaforce (the MF icon, top option,
#1). Sumilodon is the hardest of Koji's Medabots, but still easy.
==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== =+End+= ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+== ==+==

I hope you saved before the Robattle, just in case you lose... After winning
you will see a short cinematic involving Koji, Ikki, Erika and Karin (yes, the
"cute" girl that was with Salty, your dog). After a few lines of conversation
you finally regain control. Now you should definitely SAVE again. Erika wanted
you to go to her house, so get moving.
Exit the school and run right. Erika's house is on the right, between the
shop and Ikki's house. It isn't too hard to find. If you get lost just check
the mailboxes on the houses (by standing in front of the mailbox and pressing
A). Enter Erika's house and talk to her. She comes up with a brilliant idea, a
disguise for Ikki. Yes, he is supposed to wear... a skirt!? I totally agree
with what Ikki says for this... For some guys, this is a chance to live your
wildest fantasies. For the rest of us guys, this is embarrassing and shameful.
You girls quit laughing, this is serious! Anyway, I thought this was just a
skirt, but it appears to be a shirt and hair bows too... Reminds me of an old
NES classic, Star Tropics... *Sigh* You just got your first disguise, and you
will get many more as you play (and all but three of those are also girls
clothes... how disgraceful). Walk outside.
A Medabot walks up and says some things to make Erika VERY mad. Hahahahahah!
That's what you get for making Ikki wear this skirt! Hahaha... back to the
guide. After the long chase scene head left and up, and enter the warehouse.
SAVE again, you have a boss battle ahead. Walk up and you will find the Medabot
again, and a... Rubberobo??? I've seen stupid costumes before, but this is by
far the stupidest... Anyway, the Rubberobos are the "enemies" of this game, the
evildoers plotting to take over the world, one tickled girl at a time. Or
something like that. To complicate matters Karin shows up. After she
compliments you on your costume (aghhh!, that girl needs serious help!) Ikki
walks forward, and the Rubberobo mistakes him for a cute girl (he needs help
too!). The Medabot tries to tickle him, but a Robattle ensues instead.

  <<<Boss Battle: Rubberobo A>>>
[ Medabot: Foxuno ]
[ Medal: Cat ]
[Abilities: Break, Sword ]

Do I really need to list a strategy? It should be obvious by now... This guy
is similar to Kintaro, but not as powerful, so he's no problem at all, just use
the standard tactics and you'll be fine.

Winning the Robattle will give you a Medapart and a Rubberobo Medal. That
medal isn't a Medabot Medal, it is a different sort of medal. When a battle
starts (as long as it isn't a Boss Battle) you can press START and choose to
use a Rubberobo Medal to avoid the Robattle. But it will use up the Rubberobo
Medal, so you can only do that if you have some. Use them wisely...
After the Robattle Karin leaves and Ikki hides, then the Select Corps.
arrives. The leader is a bit chubby and LOVES taking credit for others' work,
so he takes the Rubberobo into custody and takes all the credit. Afterwards
another man walks in, looks around, and leaves, then Ikki comes out and decides
to give the skirt back (finally!!!). Before leaving, though, walk up and left.
Notice the boxes arranged in a kind of ) ( pattern in the middle on the floor.
Check the top-left box for a Medal:

better early Medals. If your equipped Medal was high enough in level this one
might start with a Medaforce already mastered...

Congratulations, you have ended the tickling terror once and for all. Exit

 3.2 Mt. Odoro
 -------------

  3.2a Mt. Odoro Pond
  """""""""""""""""""
Head back to Erika's house. You won't be able to enter any other buildings
right now, since Ikki is ashamed of the skirt costume (and rightly so!). Once
back at Erika's, Ikki will try and give back the skirt, but Erika will insult
him and insist he keep it. Then Erika will tell Ikki to come to school; then
she leaves. Follow her out and go back to school.
Stroll up to the 2nd floor and find Erika. Along the way you can learn about
a ghost in Mt. Odoro, if you chat with the students. Sounds kinda creepy... Oh,
you'll have the same three Medabots to Robattle in the school, as always. After
finding and talking to Erika, leave the school. In the schoolyard you'll find
the Screws and a group of students. Ikki will automatically walk over and stand
with the students to hear the speeches. After more boasting, and a few greedy
words, the Screws will leave, then the students will leave. Erika shows up and
cons Ikki into going to Mt. Odoro as well, so you might as well listen and go.
Erika gives you a Town Map, which you can use through the Items menu. The map
shows all the different places you will visit (actually, just most, some places
haven't appeared yet...).
Leave the school and make your way back to your house. Ikki will explain
about wanting to go to Mt. Odoro on a picnic with Erika, and his Mom takes it
the wrong way. Ikki becomes embarrassed and heads upstairs. Ikki wants to bring
something with him, so we need to find something... Walk over and check (talk
to) the bookshelf. You'll get a Penlight, an item that lights up dark areas.
Try to go back downstairs and Dad will come up. He will present you with a
lunch (at least Mom fixed a lunch for Ikki to take with him, even if she did
think it was a date) and a present, a new male Tinpet. Now you can use 2
Medabots in battle! Then Dad leaves. Before doing anything else deck out your
new Tinpet with Medaparts and a Medal. Leave your house and prepare for new
territory.
If you want, you can switch Rokusho/Metabee out for your other Medal and
level it up some at the school, but I'd just as soon do that after you enter
Mt. Odoro. Also, keep Rokusho/Metabee put together for this next challenge.
Walk up and you'll notice the woman who used to guard the top exit (in the top
center section of town) is now gone. SAVE NOW!!! As soon as you enter Mt. Odoro
(the next area) you will face a Boss Battle. Before you go there, though, I'd
suggest equipping the Victory Armor head (won from the Tankar battle) if you
have it.
As soon as you enter Mt. Odoro you'll notice Erika. She wants to "warm up" so
prepare for a Robattle. She'll have a second Medabot to help her out this time.

  <<<Boss Battle: Erika>>>
[ Medabot: Brass ]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Scout, Rifle, Chain Gun]
[ Medabot: Pretty Prime ]
[ Medal: Ninja ]
[Abilities: CntrAttk, Freeze, Defence]

The same strategy as the first battle won't work, since you have a second
Medabot. Be sure and use BOTH of your Medabots (you did make a second one,
right?). Have Rokusho/Metabee follow the same strategy as before, and the
second Medabot use whatever attack actions you gave it. For Rokusho versions
I'd suggest Aim Shot or Berserk actions, and for Metabee versions I'd suggest
the same, plus Scout. You can only have Scout at this point in Metabee if you
bought some Jorat parts from the store.
Start off with Scout (if you have it), then use Hammer/Missile/Chain Gun or
whatever you have until the battle ends. If you miss, use Scout again. If
you equipped the Victory Armor head, Pretty Prime's Freeze won't affect that
Medabot. When you win you'll get a Medapart. I highly recommend trying to get a
Pretty Prime Medapart, although you won't be able to use any part you get just
yet... Trust me, you want a Pretty Prime part.

Once the warmup is over Koji and Karin show up. After a brief dialogue Erika
will join you and follow you around. You'll still be Robattling by yourself,
though. Too bad. Anyway, hike up and right. Oh, before I go any farther, I'd
better list the Medabots and fields, shouldn't I?

~~Robattles:~~
 Floro (Jellyfish) - Sun-Beam, Go-Up, Rise-Up, Stem-Up
 x2

Kintaro (Cat) - Sumo Press, Light Axe, Great Axe, Kinta Leg
Dr.Bokchoy (Mouse) - Search Radar, Point Radar, Cut Radar, Chairly

Octoclam (Squid) - Hatchin, Catch, Twist, Swick
Sharkkan (Bear) - Power Driver, Plus Driver, Minus Driver, Smacker

Poison Copy (Phoenix) - Scorpion Dog, Scorpion Cat, Scorpion Rat, Zigzag

~~Battlefields:~~
Rock - use Multi-Legged Medaparts (don't worry, you'll get some here)

Before going anywhere I'd suggest equipping one of your Medabots with the
Victory Armor head if you have it. Doing so will protect that Medabot from Flow
damage, an attack Poison Copy has. Also, if nothing else, pick up a Sun-Beam
(Floro head), preferably two, so you can keep one, and trade one later on.
One boy here mentions something being in a tree as you travel up. Yes, there
is actually something in a tree. Stand at the bottom-left of the bottom tree of
the group of trees near the top of the screen. The tree I'm talking about is
next to a row of small bushes. If you stand in the right spot and examine
(talk) to the tree Ikki will ask if you want to kick it. Say yes and a
Rubberobo will fall out. He will challenge you to a Robattle as payback for
waking him up. His Medabot is as follows:

Magdosnake (Snake) - Cobrara, Changer, Snakebite, Slither

Now for strategy - just hit him with anything. This guy is no problem,
especially since you have two Medabots and he only has one. Magdosnake will use
a Venom attack which will lower ROS/Evade, so you should equip the Victory
Armor head if you have it. Once you win the Rubberobo runs off.
If you talk to the boy again he will ask the same question, and you can kick
the tree again. All that happens this time is a caterpillar falls on Erika...
Anyway, now just head up and right. As you pass a lone boy in the trees he will
challenge you to a Robattle.

This boy is using a Starpeda Medabot. Here are the parts:

with Rokusho's Scout and have the second Medabot use any type of attack, then
hit him with any Berserk or other attack with Chain Reaction.

Once the Robattle is over head right and stop at the sign. Examine it, and
Erika agrees to pay for you to go, so why not go? You end up on an island with
4 chests. Open them all for:
  [1]Empty [2]Sasuke Ninja/Medal
        [3]Psycho Missile
              [4]$1.00
After you see the Ninja, examine the chest again to get the Medal, which will
be either the Queen (Rokusho) or Jellyfish (Metabee) Medal.

Queen Medal, a Medal compatible with Stop parts. It starts with a high Strike

a really good Medal early on because it can use both Grapple and Shot type
weapons. If your equipped Medals were high enough in level this one will start
with a Medaforce already mastered. The first Medaforce inflicts the Stop status
on all enemies, which is really useful if you are in a jam.

great ranged Medal early on. If your equipped Medals were high enough in level

awesome! It turns all of the Medabot's parts to Bomb (for that battle only,
after you use the Medaforce) giving the Medaparts 100% ROS and Chain Reaction
bonuses! Just charge up your Medaforce, use it, and you will NEVER miss again
that Robattle! Can you see the usefulness of that?

Name the Medal and talk to the Taxi Medabot again to be taken back. The
Medabot will change the sign, then run off. Move right and down. Along the way
you'll notice two boys. Pass them both and continue going down.
Right away you'll notice Karin and Koji. DO NOT TALK TO THEM!!!! I can't
stress that enough. Now you must make a decision. SAVE NOW, then decide. What
you do now will affect an event at the very end of the game. The event involves
a Medal, either the Cat Medal or ? Medal. You must decide if you want the Cat
or ? Medal. Have you decided? If you have, read on.

 {{{CAT MEDAL QUEST}}}
So you want the Cat Medal, right? No problem. Just talk to Koji, but DO NOT
TALK TO Karin. This is very important! If you talk to Koji AND Karin, you will
get NOTHING in the end.
 {{{END CAT MEDAL QUEST}}}

 {{{? MEDAL QUEST}}}
So you want the ? Medal, right? No problem. Just talk to Karin twice, then
talk to Koji once. If you don't do this in the right order you'll get NOTHING
in the end.
 {{{END ? MEDAL QUEST}}}

Okay, you've chosen the Medal to get near the end of the game, and talked to
the correct character(s), so now it is time to move on. Head back up and left,
and as you pass the middle of the screen (where the path is the narrowest)
Erika will lament the fact there is nothing there and ask Ikki to take her
somewhere else. If this doesn't happen, then you didn't talk to Koji. You MUST
talk to Koji to progress the game! Just remember to talk to Karin FIRST (twice)
if you want to get the ? Medal near the end of the game. Continue walking north
until you find the boy who said "What is that taking a nap in the trees?"
Collect all the Medaparts from this area that you want, then hike left and
down, STILL ON THIS SCREEN. Take the bottom bridge to the left to enter the
other half of Mt. Odoro.

Dragonfly (Bear) - Hardweighter, Heavyweighter, Veryweighter, Flyfly
Noctobat (Bat) - Psycho Missile, Electo Missile, Sonic Missile, Grave

Poison Copy (Phoenix) - Scorpion Dog, Scorpion Cat, Scorpion Rat, Zigzag

~~Battlefields:~~
Rock - use Multi-Legged Medaparts (Avoid Air-type legs)

First off, the customary note about the area. Noctobat uses Anti-Air, so
avoid Air-type legs. Also, if you have any Noctobat parts, they will work great
against Noctobat and Dragonfly, so equip them (except for Grave, the legs,
don't equip those).
As you walk through this area you will notice several bald guys. This is
their training ground, so you will find lots of these guys here, and the random
battles will be them as well. Try to collect at least the Noctobat parts, they
are really great for this area, since they are Anti-Air. Also, if you chose the
Bat Medal when Nae gave you a choice of one of six Medals, now would be the
time to use it, since it adds a bonus to Anti-Air Medaparts.
The first bald guy will give you a warning. The second bald guy will Robattle
you. With Noctobat parts equipped this isn't even a challenge. The third hermit
will Robattle you as well, and is just as easy. The fourth guy gives the same
warning as the first guy. The fifth hermit will Robattle you, then talks about
a Ninja village. Hmm... Pass the last hermit and walk into the small section of
rock in the bottom-left corner. A Ninja will appear and tell you to keep this
place a secret and gives you a Medal. It isn't good to take bribes, but a Medal
is a good thing... Rokusho players get the Squid Medal and Metabee players get
the Bear Medal.

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Squid Medal, a Medal compatible with Bind parts. It starts with a high
Strike, Medium Berserk and Support, low Defend, and nothing on everything else.
This is a decent grapple Medal early on. If your equipped Medals were high
enough in level this one will start with a Medaforce already mastered. This
Medal's Medaforces deal with the Bind status (slows down CRG/RAD) - inflicting
or preventing (first and second Medaforces respectively).

once you get some Defend parts. If your equipped Medals were high enough in
level this one will start with a Medaforce already mastered.

After naming your newest Medal return to Mt. Odoro Pond, then take the top
bridge back to Mt. Odoro (left).
You will be above the hermit training grounds. Head left and look for a girl.
She will Robattle you using the Churlybear team. The battle isn't really hard,
just annoying because Oceana can heal any damaged Medaparts that aren't
destroyed, undoing your hard work. The good news is you'll be able to do the
same thing as soon as you get some Oceana parts and a female Tinpet...
After Robattling the girl stroll up and left. If you read the sign the
Medabot Taxi will tell you to kill some time and come back later, so take his
advice and go down. The Select Corpss are here? If you try to pass the bottom
guy and enter the cave he'll tell you it is too dangerous and make you turn
back. If you try to pass him again you'll break his contact lens. After that he
is back to being boring... Collect all the Medaparts you want from this area.
Now enter the building (the only building around). I'd suggest SAVING YOUR GAME
before doing anything else. Talk to the guy on the right, behind the table, to
enter a 2-on-3 Robattle. Yes, a 2 (you) on 3 (him) Robattle. I don't think this
counts as a boss battle, but it may. I've never lost, so I don't know. He is
using the only team Select Corps. ever uses, the Select 3 team. They are:

 Attack-Tyrano (Cat) - Breathfire, Crab-Hit, Strike-Hit, Attach Leg
Air-Ptera (Cat) - Hidden Brake, Pocket Sword, Microsword, Skyleg
 Landbrachio (Bat) - Anti-Skyer, Rave-Luster, Ray-Masher, Land-Leg

There isn't really much advice I can give for this Robattle, other than try
your best. If you get lucky you may end this battle by targeting Attack-Tyrano
and hitting him in the head... Otherwise just hit hard and fast with any attack
high in Power and low in CRG/RAD, preferably with Chain Reaction. Anti-Air will
take care of Air-Ptera in short order.

After the Robattle leave the building and march up. As you pass the sign, the
Medabot Taxi will appear and drop off a Rubberobo. Another Robattle will
follow, but this time the Rubberobo is using two Medabots.

Follow the same strategy as the previous Magdosnake battle, and ignore Gorem.
At this point Gorem won't do anything. Oh, make sure the target crosshairs are
NOT on Gorem if you are using Missile, because Gorem isn't affected by Missile.

~~Battlefields:~~
Seashore - use Sea leg Medaparts (but you really SHOULDN'T)

Although the terrain is Seashore and the best legs for Seashore are Sea legs,
two of the enemies here have Anti-Sea attacks that could kill you in just 1-2
hits... Remember what Anti-Air did to flying? That's what Anti-Sea does to
water types using Sea legs. On the same note, if you get Anti-Sea parts, you
should equip them right away, since they will help a lot in this area. Also,
Pingen is similar to Oceana, except Pingen brings back broken Medaparts instead
of healing damaged ones. That makes any Robattle with Pingen very tough, unless
you happen to be using Anti-Sea attacks. The only problem is if you aren't
using Sea Legs you won't move very fast (the battle has actually ended before
my Medabot even had a chance to attack, with the time running out, set to Low,
though). But if you are using Sea Legs you run the risk of being taken out
yourself... You could speed yourself up a little by equipping a Go-Up or
Rise-Up arm Medapart, and if you did that you *might* be fast enough to survive
even with Sea leg Medaparts equipped. Just make sure you don't equip your
Leader Medabot with Sea legs.
Ikki awakens in a bed, wearing new clothing. He soon notices he is in another
girl outfit, this time a kimono, and freaks out. An old woman (the "hag"
everyone was talking about) walks over and talks to him. Her name is Kannie.
She introduces Ikki to her "little one" who only saved Ikki because he thought
he "might be delicious." Scary. Anyway, after some conversation you will regain
control of Ikki. Head back into the building and talk to Kannie again. She will
tell you about bad people using Medabots to hurt her babies. Walk back outside
and start hunting for the baddies she mentioned.
First off, SAVING might be in order. Stroll down and talk to the Medabot,
then jog right and up a little and talk to that Medabot also. Then exit up.
Walk up and around the rocks and trees, then back down until you reach the
Air-type Medabot. Talk to him. Agree to each lunch with him and he will reward
you with a Heavyweighter right arm Medapart.
Now hike up and talk to the next Medabot you see. Talk to it again for a tip
for this area, then head up. There is a Medabot at the very top, talk to it for
a Robattle. The Medabot's Medabot of choice is Flatstick, a somewhat difficult
Medabot to defeat. Flatstick has high evade and an evil attack, Bug, that
lowers your ROS. That means low accuracy, or Rate of Success, meaning more
misses. Ouch. Anyway, use Scout a lot and anything with 100% accuracy (such as
Metabee's Missile). Having the Victory Armor head equipped will help as well.
After the Robattle saunter right across the bridge and down. The Medabot Taxi
won't take you anywhere, so just ignore it. The flying Medabot further down
lost Kannie's letter, so ignore it too. Whatever you do, don't exit down on the
right side until you SAVE FIRST! There is another boss battle ahead. Also,
before you leave the screen to head for the boss battle I'd suggest changing
your Medabot a little. Equip Sea legs on your partner, and an Anti-Sea arm, and
an Accel Chrg arm (Go-Up/Rise-Up). For the head equip the Victory Armor (I
suggest that a lot, don't I?). You don't need to have collected all the
Medaparts from this area, since you can stay here after the boss battle and
even have a third Medabot to help you (yahoo!). Once you are ready, proceed
down.
After a short conversation the Rubberobo will Robattle you.

  <<<Boss Battle: Rubberobo C>>>
[ Medabot: Flatstick]
[ Medal: Snake ]
[Abilities: Bug ]
[ Medabot: Haniwa ]
[ Medal: Ghost ]
[Abilities: CancelOptic (equip)]

The strategy is the same for both versions, just use Anti-Sea and this will
be over quick.

After the Robattle more Rubberobos will challenge you, but Phantom Renegade
will show up and save the day. As soon as you regain control immediately change
your Medabot, removing the Sea legs and changing back to whatever you had
before the Robattle. Then pick up the letter to your right. After reading the
letter, talk to the Medabot, and you will be taken back to Kannie's place. Talk
to the air Medabot in front of the door and hand over the letter. Now go in and
talk to Kannie. She'll reward you for your actions with a choice of two chests.
The large one has a female Tinpet, $1.00, and a complete set of Brass
Medaparts. The small one has a male Tinpet and $1.00. For now I'd suggest
either one, but I usually choose the large box (female Tinpet) and stick around
this area collecting more Medaparts. The fact that the large box has Brass
Medaparts (Brass is Erika's first Medabot) is the reason why I said don't get
Brass parts from the Erika boss battle. After choosing which box talk to Kannie
again, then leave.
Now you can either collect more Medaparts (if you don't have them all) or
talk to the air Medabot. Even if you don't have them all I still suggest
talking to the air Medabot. Agree to hitch a ride, and you will be dropped off
back in Mt. Odoro (left). Head up and run back to the sign, ignoring EVERYTHING
else, even Karin. The Taxi will take you to two places now, so say no the first
time, then yes the second (to downstream). You will be dropped off at the taxi
stand downstream, so hike left and down to walk back to Kannie's place. Oh,
don't forget to equip your new Tinpet with Medaparts.
Back at Kannie's enter the house, then talk to Kannie. Now talk to the
Medabot. Great news, you can open the other chest! Collect the other Tinpet and
$1.00 (and Brass parts if you didn't open the big chest before). Be sure and
equip your new Tinpet! Now finish collecting Medaparts from this area, and with
4 Medabots to choose from the task is much easier. When you have finished
collecting the parts you may have missed, take the Taxi back to Mt. Odoro
(left). One last note, anytime you come here before heading to Mt. Odoro Marsh,
Kannie will give you $1.00, but after completing Mt. Odoro Marsh she'll quit
giving you anything. You CAN'T get rich off of Kannie, though, because it costs
$1.00 per taxi ride...

 Rock - use Multi-Legged Medaparts

Notes for this area - Poison Copy still has Melt, which deals damage during
CRG/RAD, but this time he has a partner. Spidar is mean, very mean, using Grap
Traps, which deal damage to any of your Medabots using a Strike or Berserk
action. Be careful... I suggest using Shoot or Aim Shot actions for Robattles
with Spidar. And yes, there are two variations of the Rubberobo random
encounter with the Magdosnake Medabot, one with Magdosnake and Gorem, and one
with Magdosnake, Gorem, and Haniwa. I've only found the Magdosnake/Gorem
variation downstairs, in what I've labeled Cave 1B.

You are back in Mt. Odoro Marsh. (If you are trying to get Erika's Cat Medal
you may want to skip this next part just to be on the safe side... I don't know
whether it affects the Medal Quests or not...) Find Karin and talk to her to
enter a Robattle. She isn't too difficult, just annoying. Here's the deal:

  <<<Boss Battle: Karin>>>
[ Medabot: Neutranurse ]
[ Medal: Mermaid ]
[Abilities: Full Block, AutoRecover]
[ Medabot: Sailormate ]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Scout, Rifle, Chain Gun]

This is actually an easy battle. Just hit the Leader, Neutranurse, and ignore
the partner, Sailormate. Shoot/Aim Shot actions work well here, especially to
help you know who is being targeted. Neutranurse becomes very annoying very
quick, healing both Medabots, but you should still be able to win without any
trouble. Oh, try to win Neutranurse Medaparts from this Robattle, not
Sailormate parts if possible. Also, when you win you will be given a right arm
Medapart Right Armor.

(If you did decide to Robattle Karin, and are trying to get Erika's Cat
Medal, you definitely won't want to do this next part.) Talk to Karin again and
she will comment on your kimono. It is sad how many people think Ikki, who is
obviously a guy, looks good in girls' clothes... Anyway, SAVE YOUR GAME again
and examine the taxi stand sign. The Taxi Medabot appears again and asks you
for your destination. Say yes to the first option this time and you'll be taken
to Mt. Odoro Marsh, which happens to be in a cave.
  CP - Cave 1F-A
Now you have a small problem. You can't leave! Looks like you'll have to find
another exit. Stick around the entrance and collect Medaparts until you are
content. Also, every Robattle with a Rubberobo that you win will give you
another Rubberobo Medal, which is used to avoid Robattles... Stock up on
Rubberobo Medals, they will come in handy later on. The only Rubberobo
Robattles in this area are random Robattles, except for the boss battle later
on. The boss battle is VERY tough, so try to level up all your Medals to at
least lvl 10 (at this point my Kuwagata/Kabuto Medal was over lvl 30...). When
you are ready proceed up and open the chest for a Battle Rifle, a Krosserdog
Medapart. Then walk to the right and down a little to find Sloan. Make sure at
least one of your Medabots has Anti-Sea parts (I prefer the female Tinpet with
the head Medapart Watergun). Also, if you have any Haniwa parts (with
CancelOptic) equip at least one of those parts to your Leader Medabot. Talk to
Sloan to enter a Robattle.

  <<<Boss Battle: Sloan>>>
[ Medabot: Totalizer]
[ Medal: Tortoise ]
[Abilities: Laser ]
[ Medabot: Fireflash]
[ Medal: Kappa ]
[Abilities: Anti-Sea ]

This battle is a joke if you have an Anti-Sea attack and a CancelOptic
Medapart equipped. Just use Anti-Sea with one Medabot to take care of
Fireflash, and use Scout, then Chain Gun/Missile/Hammer/Sword or whatever to
take out Totalizer. This is an easy Robattle for this part of the game...

After the Robattle Sloan threatens to block the path with a rock, then runs
off. Follow him and you will hear a *thud* which means Sloan did block the
path. That isn't the best news I've heard, but it isn't anything to be
concerned about, either. Just stroll up and right, until you reach the rock.
Equip one of your Medabots with the left arm Battle Rifle, which you got from
either Krosserdog (in the school) or the chest (in this area). Now check the
rock (talk to it) and Ikki will use a Medabot to destroy it.
Once the rock is gone feel free to switch the Battle Rifle for a different
part, you won't need it anymore. Walk down and you'll find another blocked
rock. Ikki wants to break this rock with the head Medapart Psycho Missile
(which you got in a chest in Mt. Odoro Pond or from random Robattles in this
area). Just equip any Medabot with Psycho Missile, then check the rock. After
that, hike down and right to reach the next rock. Ikki wants to use a gravity
attack from the right arm Heavyweighter for this one, so equip a Heavyweighter
(once again you can get this from a random Robattle here, or you could have
gotten it by sharing lunch with the Air Medabot downstream, near Kannie's
place). It is so convenient how the game makes sure you'll have all the parts
you need... Anyway, get rid of the rock, then go down the stairs.
  CP - Cave 2F
Head up and you'll see Sloan again. He will Robattle you a second time, and
is just as easy as the first time. Use the same strategy and Medaparts as
before and you'll win just as easily. After you win he runs off again. Walk up,
then right, and check the pile of junk that is different (it looks like a green
pile of parts). Now run left, then down, and then right to find the chest. Open
it to get $10.00, then stroll back left a little, then continue going down.
You'll see Spyke when you near the bottom, so jog left towards him, but SAVE
before battling him.

  <<<Boss Battle: Spyke>>>
[ Medabot: Cyandog]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Rifle ]
[ Medabot: Mantaprey]
[ Medal: Cat ]
[Abilities: Sword ]

Just lead off with Scout, then use standard tactics to win. Any attack with
Chain Reaction will do massive damage to Mantaprey, especially Rokusho's Pipo
Hammer, Kintaro's Great Axe, or Metabee's Missile.

After the Robattle Spyke runs off. Ikki knows Samantha is just ahead, so you
should probably SAVE before you reach her. Walk up, following the path across
the stepping stones in the water. After you step back onto dry land you'll
confront Samantha. Talk to her and she'll walk off without a Robattle. Too bad,
I wanted to get another Medapart... Take the stairs to the next floor.
  CP - 1F-B
Pick up the second Broken Parts (which look the same as the first pile, and
is blocking your path). Now wander up, left, and down. DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER
UNTIL YOU SAVE YOUR GAME!!! Rokusho players NEED to equip at least one Medabot
with Anti-Sea parts, preferably two Medabots... both players should equip at
least one Medabot (who you'll use as your Leader) with a CancelBomb Medapart (a
Gorem Medapart). After saving walk toward the cave entrance. A Medabot will
appear and demand Medaparts. This is the Ghost, Yanagi! To complicate matters
Koji shows up and demands a Robattle.

  <<<Boss Battle: Koji>>>

[Abilities: Boost Chrg, Rifle, Chain Gun / Shot Trap, Sword, Hammer]
[ Medabot: Rockflower]
[ Medal: Rabbit ]
[Abilities: Boost Chrg]

The partner is the same for both versions, Rockflower, and only knows one
move, Boost Chrg. Other than that, this is nearly identical to the first Koji
Robattle. Just hit fast and hard and his Medabots will fall in no time. Metabee
players should be careful of Sumilodon's Shot Trap.

After the Robattle an ugly Rubberobo comes out and takes credit for all of
the Ghost Medabot's hard work. Then comes another boss battle, and no chance to
save! This guy is kinda tough, so be prepared to lose and have to try again.
Rokusho players, I hope you took my advice and brought some Anti-Sea weapons,
and I hope both Rokusho and Metabee players also equipped CancelBomb parts.

  <<<Boss Battle: Squidguts>>>

---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- ---+- Rokusho -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+--- -+---
Squidguts is hard, but not VERY hard. You may lose this battle several times
before you win. If you have Anti-Sea parts use them. If you equipped CancelBomb
parts then Aviking's Missile attack won't damage you. There is no way to block
Sacrifice, which is unfortunate, because Sacrifice will destroy Aviking's arm,
and also destroy a few of your Medaparts... Sacrifice is very powerful, and
does Chain Reaction! Thankfully each Aviking can only Sacrifice twice, since
each only has two arms...

Squidguts is easy. If you equipped CancelBomb parts he won't even deal any
damage whatsoever. Just attack as usual. If/when Dashbutton uses Full Block
switch to Shoot/Aim Shot attacks and be sure the crosshairs target Dashbutton,
not Giggly Jelly. Dashbutton can only use Full Block once. This battle was easy
to begin with, but Dashbutton makes it even easier by using Defence, forcing
you to attack him and not Giggly Jelly... Even if you did target Giggly Jelly
you would end up attacking Dashbutton if he has used Full Block/Defence.

You will want to win either hand of Aviking (Rokusho players) or either

Switching/Burly for Metabee) along with a Medal (Phoenix for Rokusho and Spider
for Metabee). Name your Medal.

backup. This Medal should have at least one Medaforce, but if your equipped
Medals were all high in level it may start with two. The first Medaforce is
great, inflicting Flow status on all opponents, and the second one is great too,
protecting your Medabots from Flow status when used.

Watch as the Phantom Renegade appears. After some chit-chat the Phantom
leaves, and takes Yanagi with him. Now enter the cave. Ikki will automatically
use his Penlight, so just run around and pick up the two remaining Broken
Parts. Try to leave and someone will come in, forcing Ikki to hide. Its the
Select Corps. Captain, here to steal your hard work again! After the Select
Corps. leave exit the cave, then head to the left to exit the Marsh. Ikki wisely
decides to change his clothes before leaving.
Stroll up and talk to Erika. She will scold you, then follow you around. With
Erika in tow head back to Riverview City. Along the way you will bump into Koji
and Karin. Koji makes a few jokes about Ikki's clothes, then comments on recent
events. After Koji and Karin leave Erika reminds Ikki about watching Medabots
Weekly and runs off too. It seems the new version of the Medawatch goes on sale
today, but Ikki already had the new model??? Ikki wants to visit the Research
Center, so leave Mt. Odoro.

 3.3 Medabot Island
 ------------------
  3.3a Preparations
  """""""""""""""""
Back in Riverview City your first stop should be the Lab. Talk to Dr. Aki.
From now on ALL Medabots can use Medaforces, even those you Robattled before
that didn't use Medaforces. Ikki will hand over the broken Medaparts. You'll
have to wait until later to pick them up...
After talking to Dr. Aki check the Medabot in the holding tank in the back of
his room. Dr. Aki tells you to leave. Next visit his granddaughter, Nae. She'll
let you pick another Medal from the room next door. The choices are the same as
the first time. Leave the Lab after picking a Medal.
Back in the great outdoors you'll be confronted by Erika. She'll show off her
new toy, the latest version of the Medawatch. Ikki will make a serious comment,
then Erika will be VERY upset. After she stalks off the game changes to a
sinister scene.
Rubberobo HQ... What a scary place. A short scene takes place, revealing the
new plans to recruit children using an amusement park. After a lot of talking
the game finally returns to Ikki. He decides he should head home, so off we go!
I hope you know where his house is by now...
As you approach your door a Medabot comes up and delivers a letter. It
contains a free pass to Medabot Island, the large amusement park. Looks like
the Rubberobo Gang didn't waste any time. Talk to Dad and Mom, then jog to
Erika's house. Talk to Erika and her Mom, then go back to Ikki's house. Talk
to Ikki's Dad and Mom once more. Leave Ikki's house and stroll left to find the
Docks. Oh, if you wanted to you could go back to the other areas (School, Mt.
Odoro Pond, Mt. Odoro Marsh) and get any parts you missed... You just can't get
back to Downstream (where you met Kannie, the old woman who gave you the
Kimono) just yet. When you are done getting any parts you missed go to the
Docks.

~~Robattles:~~
Fireflash (Kappa) - Watergun, Shower, Klench, Luminous
Pingen (Penguin) - Reza-Rector, Free Arm, New Arm, Fin

Flatstick (Snake) - Slipper, Accident, Troubler, Speartail
Kappalord (Tortoise) - Plate Beam, Underwater Flo, Undersea Flo, Anti-Stand
Orkamar (Squid) - New Wave, Clinch Wave, Nibble Wave, Fishtail

Orkamar (Squid) - New Wave, Clinch Wave, Nibble Wave, Fishtail
Giggly Jelly (Jellyfish) - Missile Base, Intermissile, Guidemissile, Limptank

~~Battlefields:~~
Seashore - use Sea Leg Medaparts

Fight around the Docks and get the new Medaparts, then talk to the woman at
the hut. She will tell you the ship is booked solid and you can't get a ticket.
Try to board the ship anyway. Erika and her Mom will show up and ask you to go
with them. You have no choice here, you will automatically join them and board
the ship.
Once on the boat you will see what looks like a head of a large shark. Walk
down and Erika will come and talk to you. After a little conversation the ship
docks at Medabot Island. As you disembark a weird old guy runs up, says a few
things, then leaves. Remember his face, you'll see him a lot later on.
Fight around the Docks here to find the same Robattles as you did in
Riverview City Docks. Try to level up all your Medals to lvl 30. Every Medal
will learn a new Medaforce at lvl 10, 30, and 60. I suggest lvl 30 because all
the enemies here use Medaforces, and you'll have some tough Robattles, and your
Medals learn some good Medaforces at lvl 30. At this point I didn't have much
work to do to level all mine up to 30... Be sure and pick up an extra Missile
Base Medapart.
When you are content with your Medal lvls and Medapart collection, head up.
You will enter the actual Medabots Island theme park.

  3.3b Medabot Island Tournament 1

Erika will ask if you want to go to the parade with her. She won't take no

around and enjoy the scenery. You should be aware that the scenery includes
several Robattles, which vary from screen to screen. This list may be a bit
confusing...

~~Battlefields:~~
Desert - use Air Leg Medaparts (center screen)*
Inside - use Wheel type parts (Surprise Site, during tournament)
Plain - use Two Legged parts (right screen)
Rock - use Multi-Legged parts (top screen)
Street - use Wheel type Medaparts (left screens)

 * - although Air Leg Medaparts are the best type for Desert, you should avoid
giving ALL your Medabots Air legs. Landbrachio, one of the Select Corps.
Medabots, uses Anti-Air attacks, and can easily knock out any Medabot with
     Air legs.

Why are snowmen in the desert? And why are they called Snowbro, when they are
female Medabots? Did anyone realize Snowbro was taken from Slowbro, from
Pokemon? Be aware that Pingen doesn't like to use her first Medaforce in
the desert, she prefers her second Medaforce, an attack Medaforce. Plan
accordingly. Anyway, the center screen doesn't have any really good Medabots,
other than Haniwa, Gorem, and Spidar. You may disagree with me if you want,
that is just my opinion. The left screen has good Medabots, especially Tankar
(be sure and get the Victory Armor head from Tankar). The right screen has
Sailormate, a Medabot that isn't for sale anymore and can be seen in the
Museum. Sailormate is the lower model of Brass. One last note, any Robattle
with any Rubberobo or Select Corps. will give you a Rubberobo Medal, so stock
up on those medals.
The first area is the center screen. There are four buildings here. The
bottom left building is a restaurant, but you can't do anything there... The
top left building is the Select Corps. building, and you can't do anything
there right now either. The top right building is a concession stand that sells
drinks, suntan lotion, and oil, but you can't buy anything just yet. The bottom
right building is a store. The store sells Medaparts, and will also let you
change the name of your Medals (for a fee, of course). Once again, check my
Medabots: Rokusho/Metabee Secrets, Sidequests, and Supplemental Info Guide's
Shop section to find out what is sold at this store (Strawberry Heart (M.I.)).
At this time only the first two Medabots are available for purchase.
After collecting all the parts you want from the center screen you should
visit the right side and collect more parts. Once you have all you want from
there, head over to the left side and continue your collecting spree. The right
side has one screen and two entrances, but the left side has two screens
(actually one screen divided in two) and two entrances (top and bottom). Each
side also has two buildings. The top building on the right side is the Haunted
House, which you can only enter if you have a friend, and the bottom building
on the right side is the arcade. Right now you can't play any of the games, so
don't even try. The top building on the left side is the Surprise Site, where
you can enter the Medabots Tournament, and the bottom building is the
Medacoaster, but you can't ride the coaster until Erika joins you later on. The
top screen houses the Witch's Castle, which you will visit later.
Once you are content with your Medapart collection, enter the Surprise Site
(the top building on the left screen, exit the center screen by walking left
near the Select Corps. building). Once in the Surprise Site building jog right
and talk to everyone in the right-hand room. The girl will trade you a Head
Shutter for a Spreader (a Gorem head for a Churlybear arm). The other two will
trade with you later, after you win the tournament.
Now stroll back to the center room and talk to the girl behind the counter.
Agree to join, then run over to the left room, which looks like a locker room.
Erika is your first opponent. The Robattle field is Inside, so use Wheel legs.
The Wheel Legs will give you a great advantage in speed. Erika's Medabots
haven't changed at all, so you already know what she will be using. SAVE NOW,
then leave through the top-right door.

  <<<Boss Battle: Erika>>>
[ Medabot: Brass ]
[ Medal: ? ]

[ Medabot: Pretty Prime ]
[ Medal: Ninja ]
[Abilities: CntrAttk, Freeze, Defence]
[ Medabot: Pretty Prime ]
[ Medal: Ninja ]
[Abilities: CntrAttk, Freeze, Defence]

Erika hasn't changed, she just added another Pretty Prime. She is still easy,
especially if you picked up a few Victory Armor heads and equipped them. Other
than that, the strategy is the same as before, and basically this Robattle is
the same as the random Robattle against Tentaclam and the two Rollermans.

After winning it would be a good idea to SAVE again. Notice Karin nearby? She
is your next opponent. When you are ready head back through the top-right door.

  <<<Boss Battle: Karin>>>
[ Medabot: Neutranurse ]
[ Medal: Mermaid ]
[Abilities: Full Block, AutoRecover]
[ Medabot: Sailormate ]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Scout, Rifle, Chain Gun]
[ Medabot: Draken ]
[ Medal: Unicorn ]
[Abilities: Force Bind]

This time Karin has added a new Medabot, Draken. Draken has low armor on all
Medaparts, and is flying, so one Anti-Air should be all you need to take out
the new Medabot. Other than that, this is the same as the first Karin Robattle.

After your round with Karin you return to the locker room. Your next opponent
is also waiting here, and is none other than Sloan. Remember he uses a slow
(but powerful) laser Medabot and now has 2 Sea-type Medabots. Equip at least
one Anti-Sea part (Watergun head is best) and have hard hitting parts also
(Great Axe is good here). When you are ready (did you save?) enter the
tournament room again.

  <<<Boss Battle: Sloan>>>
[ Medabot: Totalizer]

[ Medabot: Fireflash]
[ Medal: Kappa ]

[ Medal: Kappa ]
[Abilities: Anti-Sea ]

Use Anti-Sea on the two Fireflashes and any hard-hitting attack on Totalizer.
It is possible to end this Robattle without ever getting hit!

After winning the Robattle with Sloan you return to the locker room. The next
opponent is here, and is none other than Spyke! He isn't really difficult.

  <<<Boss Battle: Spyke>>>
[ Medabot: Cyandog]
[ Medal: ? ]
[Abilities: Rifle ]
[ Medabot: Mantaprey]
[ Medal: Cat ]
[Abilities: Sword ]
[ Medabot: Mantaprey]
[ Medal: Cat ]
[Abilities: Sword ]

As you can see, Spyke has the same Medabots, with an extra Mantaprey. He is
still easy, though.

Next up is the leader of the Screws, Samantha. You saw that coming, didn't
you? Before going into the battle you should prepare. Equip the Victory Armor
head and remove any shooting (Shoot or Aim Shot) parts. Use only grapple
(Strike or Berserk) for this battle.

  <<<Boss Battle: Samantha>>>
[ Medabot: Peppercat]
[ Medal: Queen ]
[Abilities: Thunder ]
[ Medabot: Redlace ]
[ Medal: Spider ]
[Abilities: Shot Trap]
[ Medabot: Redlace ]
[ Medal: Spider ]
[Abilities: Shot Trap]

The Victory Armor head will protect you from Thunder. Redlace uses Shot Trap,
so don't use Shoot or Aim Shot attacks. Metabee should charge Medaforce, then
use Ultra Shot (the first Medaforce). The other two Medabots should use
Strike/Berserk moves, or Heal if you have any healing parts.

When you win this Robattle you have won B Block competition. All that is left
for right now is to head back to the reception area. If you want to get another
Medapart walk into the right room and talk to the man there. He will trade you
a Clay Flash (Haniwa head) for a Missile Base (Giggly Jelly head). If you don't
have a Missile Base, or only have one, return to the docks and pick up another
one. This trade is purely optional.
After trading, or if you decide not to trade, mosey back to the reception
area. Enter either of the two doors on either side of the desk. Erika will call
you to a seat near her, and a "special guest" will enter. The special guest is
Dr. Armond, the crazy old guy you saw when Ikki got off the boat. After he
leaves be sure and SAVE YOUR GAME if you haven't saved yet. You will have the
chance to continue the special "Medal Quests" very soon, and I don't want you
to mess up.
