    complete only at the Seigaku-level.  Character profiles for the other
    schools will come in the next version.  This is only version 0.20 since

(2) GENERAL INFORMATION:

  (2A)TENNIS NO OUJISAMA:
  ----------------------
  Tennis no Oujisama (Prince of Tennis) is a manga/anime created by Konomi
  Takeshi, about a young boy who is a tennis master, along with his school
  tennis club.  I'm not going to go into the details about the story,  I
  STRONGLY recommend that you watch the anime or read the manga if you're
  interested in this.

  On April 25th 2002, Konami Computer Entertainment Japan released the first
  GameBoy Advance Tennis no Oujisama game, titled: "Tennis no Oujisama: Genius
  Boys Academy" (TeniPuri:GBA).  A fast-paced tennis game, the game included
  a fairly standard tennis-gameplay engine with the Seigaku Regulars as
  characters to select.  I personally found this game to be more fun than
  the PlayStation versions of TeniPuri (those were more of strategy games) and
  even more fun than top-of-the-line tennis games such as Sega's amazing Virtua
  Tennis 2 (for the simple reason that you don't see people like Rafter, Haas
  or the Williams sisters pulling Drive Bs and Boomerang Snakes).

  The downside of TeniPuri:GBA was that there was a very limited number of
  characters to choose from, and a relatively small amount of special moves:
  the characters' more advanced moves had not been revealed yet in the series.

  On February 20th 2003, KCEJ gave their answer to those wishes: Tennis no
  Oujisama 2003: Passion Red and Cool Blue.  An improvement to the first
  TeniPuri:GBA game in every aspect, the newer game included more special moves
  and included the prominent characters from rival schools Fudomine, Yamabuki,
  St-Rudolph and Hyotei.  All these schools were divided into two: half of the
  Seigaku Regulars, Yamabuki and Hyotei were placed in Passion Red, the other
  half of the Regulars along with Fudomine and St-Rudolph were put in Cool 
  Blue.  This totalled 33 characters in all!

  Unfortunately (or fortunately?...), either version, Passion Red or Cool Blue,
  only initially allowed the selection of the Seigaku Regulars, and only the
  specific half of them on top of that.  The remaining characters needed to be
  unlocked when certain conditions are fulfilled or certain matches are played.
  Moreover, even though the character profiles in the game listed each player's
  special moves, what conditions were needed to pull them off?
  This is where this FAQ comes in...

  (2B) GAME INFORMATION (CONTROLS):
  --------------------------------
  Menu controls (outside of a tennis match):
    D-pad: Move cursor to make selections.
    A-button: Confirm selections.
    B-button: Cancel selections.
    R-button: Not used. (I think...)
    L-button: View character profile in character selection screen.
    Start: Skip intro...
    Select: Not used. (I'm pretty sure...)

  Character controls (during a tennis match):
    D-pad: move your character on the court, aim the ball (direction-wise) 
           as you hit it.
    A-button: Standard straight hit.
    B-button: Lob hit.
    R-button: Not used by itself.
    L-button: Not used by itself.
    Start: Pause game, view scores.
    Select: Taunt (decreases opponent's C-Gauge)

    L+A: Topspin hit.
    L+B: Short volley.
    R+A: Slice hit.
    R+B: A lob of sorts...not sure of the difference (Please confirm!)

    (When C-Gauge is full, and character is flashing)
    L+R+A: Special move 1 
    L+R+B: Special move 2 (if applicable)

    Note: knocking the opponent off and making them lose their racket actually
    has a purpose.  Make the opponent lose their racket enough, about 3 or 4
    times, and they'll lose by default (R.K.O.).  This can easily be seen by
    using frequent Hadokyuus with Kawamura or Ishida, or doing repetitive
    Drive A's with Echizen. (Thanks to jasz for noticing the R.K.O.)

(3) MAIN MENU:
=============
The Main Menu at the title screen has 3 options: Game Start, Options Mode
and Gallery.

  (3A) GAME START:
  ---------------
  This part should be fairly straightforward.  The breakdown is as follows:
    a) Solo Play
         1) Public/Official Matches (Singles)
               Course Select (different schools play in different terrains)
                 (PASSION RED)
                    Hard = Seigaku (Kawamura/Momoshiro/Kikumaru/Inui)
                    Grass = Yamabuki/Hyotei (Ootori/Shishido/Sengoku/Akutsu)
                    Carpet = Hyotei (Mukahi/Oshi_tari/Kabaji/Jirou)
                 (COOL BLUE)
                    Hard = Seigaku (Kaidoh/Oishi/Echizen/Fuji)
                    Clay (Cray) = Fudomine (Ishida/Kamio/Ibu/Tachibana)
                    Grass = St-Rudolph (Kisarazu/Yanagisawa/Fuji Yuuta/Akazawa)
         2) Practice Matches (Singles)
              Set up a singles practice match between 1 player vs 1 computer.
         3) Practice Matches (Doubles)
              Set up a doubles practice match between 1 player and 1 computer
              vs 2 computer characters.
    b) Versus
         2) Practice Matches (Singles)
              Set up a singles practice match between 2 human players.
         3) Practice Matches (Doubles)
              Set up a doubles practice match for 2 human players and
              2 computer characters.
    c) Co-operative
         1) Public/Official Matches (Doubles)
              2 human players play against Kabaji/Ishida-pair, Sengoku-
              Ibu-pair, Akutsu-Mizuki-pair, and Tachibana-Atobe-pair.
              Completing this gives the 6th picture in the gallery.

  (3B) OPTIONS MODE:
  -----------------
  This is of course the place to change gameplay settings and such.
  (In order on the screen:)

    Game Level: Easy / Normal / Hard
         Sets the computer's level of difficulty.
    Gauge Speed: Normal / Double
         Determines how fast the Special Gauge fills up.
    Surrender: On / Off
         Not sure HOW to surrender... (Help!)
    Type Select: On / Off
         Allow the selection of rackets of different weight/size when serving.
         Not sure what this changes, though...
    Racket Order: O-L-H
         Changes the order of the Oversize/Light/Heavy rackets when changing
         them when serving.

  (3A) GALLERY:
  ------------
  This brings up another screen with 20 squares where is stored all of the
  character's game graphics, along with records that have been accumulated.
  After selecting a character, there are 2 choices:

    Graphics View:
         Shows the 6 different character graphics by scrolling left/right.
         These are (in order): Special Move, Service Ace, Smash Ace, Victory,
         Ending, and Doubles Ending.  (Get the 6th picture by playing the
         Doubles Tournament by linking up 2 GBAs and 2 TeniPuri2003 games.)
    Records:
         Shows which schools have been played against with that specific
         character, along with Win/Loss percentages and number of times
         cleared.

(4) CHARACTER PROFILES:
======================
This is the main bulk of this FAQ.  With a total of 33 characters (9 from
Seigaku, 4 from Fudomine, 5 from St-Rudolph, 2 from Yamabuki, 7 from Hyotei,
and 4 miscellaneous) and 3 or more special moves each, this is (or will be) 
quite an extensive list.

  SEIGAKU (Seishun Gakuen):
  ------------------------
  The "main" school of the series.  Consists of their 9 Regulars.

    Echizen Ryoma:
    -------------
      Bio: Main character of the series, son of the legendary Samurai tennis 
           player, Echizen Nanjiroh.
      Year: 1st.
      Blood Type: O.
      Birthday: December 24th.
      Height: 151cm.
      Hand: Left (even though he *can* play tennis ambidextrously like his
            father did).
      Specials:
        Twist Serve: (L+R+A/B as a serve)
          Echizen's specialty move to hit opponents in the face.  A serve that
          bounces drastically either to the left or right after the bounce.
          Use the A-button for a right-handed Twist Serve, B-button for 
          a left-handed one.
        Drive B: (L+R+B as a return when ball/player is close to net)
          Echizen's counter to Fuji Yuuta's (St-Rudolph) Twist Spin Shot.
          Echizen slides forwards then hits the ball to make it bounce like a
          "B".
        Drive A: (L+R+A as a return when ball/player is close to net)
          The first move he used against Akutsu Jin (Yamabuki), and hit him in
          the face.  Note that if the opponent moves out of the way of the 
          path of the ball, the Drive A will go out.
        Twist Smash: (L+R+A as a smash when ball is lobbed)
          The final point against Ibu Shinji (Fudomine).  Essentially a smash
          combined with the Twist Serve.
        Buggy Whip Shot: (L+R+A/B as a return when ball is further from net)
          Kaidoh's Snake, Echizen-style.  Echizen used this move against
          Kaidoh in the first Seigaku Ranking Tournament.
        Super Rising Shot: (??? Please help! ???)
          The move Echizen learned from Fuji Yuuta (St-Rudolph).
        
    Kaidoh Kaoru:
    ------------
      Bio: Strong attitude-driven player nicknamed "Viper" (Mamushi).  A strong
           rival to Momoshiro.
      Year: 2nd.
      Blood Type: B.
      Birthday: May 11th.
      Height: 173cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        Snake: (L+R+A as a return)
          Kaidoh's specialty move.  A shot that curves in strange directions.
        Boomerang Snake: (L+R+B as a return)
          Fluked move against Kamio Akira (Fudomine) that was later mastered
          against Shishido Ryo (Hyotei).  His famous "around-the-pole" shot.
        Viper Dive: (??? Please help! ???)
        Diamondback: (L+R+A as a return when ball is behind Kaidoh)
          I *think* this is the Diamondback, if not, it's the Viper Dive.
          Kaidoh backdashes quickly and returns the ball as a Snake.

    Momoshiro Takeshi:
    -----------------
      Bio: The cheerful powerhouse of Seigaku that relies on his leg-power.
           Referred to often as Momo, or Momo-chan-sempai.
      Year: 2nd.
      Blood Type: O.
      Birthday: July 23rd.
      Height: 170cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        Dunk Smash: (L+R+A as a smash when ball is lobbed)
          Momo's specialty.  Essentially a super-powerful jumping smash.
        Super Dunk Smash: (??? Please help! ???)
          I *think* this is the version used against Yanagisawa/Kisarasu-pair
          (St-Rudolph), the "running-forward-Dunk-Smash" as opposed to the
          regular Dunk Smash.  (Please confirm this!)
        Jack-Knife (L+R+A as a return, backhand)
          The proof of Momo's leg power.  Developped and mastered against
          Sengoku Kyosumi (Yamabuki).  A powerful 2-handed backhand.

    Kawamura Takashi:
    -----------------
      Bio: Multi-personality player, Taka-san has his normal "soft and nice"
           personality, and his "Burning" state.  Moeruze Burning!!!
      Year: 3rd.
      Blood Type: A.
      Birthday: November 18th.
      Height: 180cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        Burning Serve: (L+R+A as a serve)
          Kawamura's famous Burning Serve.  Very fast, very strong.
        Burning Hadokyuu: (L+R+A as a return)
          Kawamura's 2-handed version of Ishida Tetsu's (Fudomine) Hadokyuu, 
          used against Kabaji Munehiro (Hyotei).  Weaker than the 1-handed 
          Hadokyuu, but more reliable.  If the opponent attempts to return the
          Burning Hadokyuu, they will be thrown off their feet and sent flying
          backwards.  However, the ball will be returned to Kawamura as 
          a short drop volley.
        Great Hadokyuu: (L+R+B as a return)
          A copy of Ishida Tetsu's (Fudomine) single-handed Hadokyuu.  Also 
          used for the first time against Kabaji Munehiro (Hyotei). Extremely
          powerful, can often knock the racket straight out of an opponent's
          hands.  Note the holding the direction of the hit (ie, holding "UP"
          on the D-pad when Kawamura is playing on the lower half of the
          screen) will cause the ball to go out.

    Kikumaru Eiji:
    -----------------
      Bio: Popular for his acrobatic style of play, Kikumaru is the nonsense-
           talking doubles partner of Oishi.
      Year: 3rd.
      Blood Type: A.
      Birthday: November 28th.
      Height: 171cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        Acrobatic V: (L+R+A as a return when at the net)
          Kikimaru jumps/dives backwards in his usual style to hit the ball
          behind his back.
        Kikumaru Beam: (L+R+A as a smash when ball is lobbed)
          Eiji jumps and does his backwards smash like he did when he played
          Akazawa/Kaneda-pair (St-Rudolph).
        Moon Volley: (L+R+A as a return when behind the center line)
          Partnering up with Oishi all the time must've allowed Kikumaru to
          learn moves off of him.  Kikumaru's Moon Volley seems to be slower
          Oishi's, though.  Should be the one used against Oshitari/Mukahi-pair
          (Hyotei).

    Oishi Syuuchirou:
    -----------------
      Bio: The gentle and nice vice-captain of Seigaku's Tennis Club.  The
           gamemaker of the Golden Pair, he is always the one Kikumaru relies
           on in matches.
      Year: 3rd.
      Blood Type: O.
      Birthday: April 30th.
      Height: 175cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        Moon Volley: (L+R+A as a return from the back of the court)
          Oishi's trademark move, he hits the ball with a "center lob top spin
          volley" to make it land on the back line and shoot out.
        Drop Volley: (L+R+B as a return from the back of the court)
          His fake Moon Volley that he fooled Akazawa/Kaneda-pair (St-Rudolph)
          with .
        Shot Cross: (L+R+A as a return when up at the net)
          Oishi hits passing cross-shot to the opposite side of the court.

    Fuji Syusuke:
    -----------------
      Bio: Seigaku's prodigy, the forever-smiling "older-brother" Fuji never
           plays a game with his full potential.  Known for his famous three
           Triple Counters.
      Year: 3rd.
      Blood Type: B.
      Birthday: February 29th.
      Height: 167cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        Tsubame Gaeshi: (L+R+A as a return, forehand)
          The first of his Triple Counters, his "Swallow Return", a forehand
          that doesn't bounce (it rolls immediately after landing on the
          ground).  First used against Ishida/Sakurai-pair (Fudomine).
        Higuma Otoshi: (L+R+A when opponent smashes)
          Triple Counter #2: a backhand smash counter that sends the ball
          to the baseline.  Used against Echizen in a practice match.
        Hakugei: (L+R+A as a return, backhand)
          The last Triple Counter, a straight backhand that "hops" into a lob,
          drops vertically at the baseline, and backspins back into Fuji's
          hand.  Used on Akugatawa Jirou (Hyotei).
        Vanishing Cut:
          A super cut-serve that "disappears" after bouncing off the ground.
          Again, used on Akugatawa Jirou (Hyotei).

    Tezuka Kunimitsu:
    -----------------
      Bio: The stern-looking captain of Seigaku's team.  A very serious person,
           and extremely skilled in tennis.  Probably the only player to rival
           the Samurai Echizen Nanjiroh.
      Year: 3rd.
      Blood Type: O.
      Birthday: October 7th.
      Height: 179cm.
      Hand: Left.
      Specials:
        Serve: (L+R+A as a serve)
          A super-fast and super-strong serve.  I'm guessing it's the one he
          used on Echizen in that one match he played against him.
        Drop Shot: (L+R+B as a return, backhand)
          Tezuka's famous Drop Shot.  An ultra-slice that doesn't bounce,
          and rolls into the net after touching the ground.
        Tezuka Zone: (L+R+A at any time, almost)
          The technique he used on Inui during the second Ranking Tournament.
          Every ball hit by the opponent afterwards will automatically be
          redirected towards Tezuka, no matter where the opponent tries to hit
          the ball.
        Corner Shot: (L+R+A as a return, forehand)
          Seems to simply be a strong and fast forehand shot that aims for the
          corner that is farthest from the opponent.
      NOTE: It seems that sometimes, Tezuka is never flashing; ie, he cannot
            use ANY special move.  I don't know why that is, for now.

    Inui Sadaharu:
    -----------------
      Bio: Seigaku's genius, the creator of the famous "Inui-Juice", his style
           is "Data Tennis", all based on his data and his calculations of 
           probabilities.
      Year: 3rd.
      Blood Type: AB.
      Birthday: June 3rd.
      Height: 184cm.
      Hand: Right.
      Specials:
        S.S.S.: (L+R+A as a serve)
          His Sonic Serve that he used to rival Ootori Choutarou's (Hyotei)
          Scud Serve.
        D.A.E.: (L+R+A as a return)
          A target appears at the ball, and Mr.Data will automatically reach
          the ball and return it based on his calculations.  Can even be used
          if the ball is behind Inui.
        D.R.S.: (L+R+A as a smash when ball is lobbed)
          The super smash that Inui used near the end of his match with 
          Shishido/Ootori-pair (Hyotei).

(5) UNLOCKING CHARACTERS:
========================
It seems that to unlock a specific character, it is required to beat the school
that they're from with a "related" character.  Note that Passion Red and Cool 
Blue start off with different Seigaku regulars: Passion Red gets Echizen, 
Kaidoh, Oishi and Fuji; while Cool Blue starts off with Momoshiro, Kawamura, 
Kikumaru, Tezuka and Inui.  (The majority of thanks from this section goes to
caffeine316, Janus and Yosho.)

Here are confirmed ones so far, in the form of:
[play as this character] + [against this school] = [get this character]

  Seigaku (both versions):
    Tezuka + Seigaku = Echizen (Cool Blue)
    Inui + Seigaku = Kaidoh (Cool Blue)
    Echizen + Seigaku = Momoshiro (Passion Red)
    Fuji + Segaku = Kawamura (Passion Red)
    Oishi + Seigaku = Kikumaru (Passion Red)
    Kikumaru + Seigaku = Oishi (Cool Blue)
    Kawamura + Seigaku = Fuji (Passion Red)
    Atobe Keigo + Seigaku = Tezuka (Passion Red)
    Kaidoh + Seigaku = Inui (Passion Red)

  Fudomine (Cool Blue):
    Kaidoh + Fudomine = Kamio Akira
    Echizen + Fudomine = Ibu Shinji
    Kawamura + Fudomine = Ishida Tetsu
    Any Fudomine player + Fudomine = Tachibana Kippei
  
  St-Rudolph (Cool Blue):
    Oishi + St-Rudolph = Akazawa Yoshirou
    Kaidoh + St-Rudolph = Kisarazu Atsushi
    Momoshiro + St-Rudolph = Yanagisawa Shinya
    Echizen + St-Rudolph = Fuji Yuuta

  Yamabuki (Passion Red):
    Echizen + Yamabuki = Akutsu Jin
    Momoshiro + Yamabuki = Sengoku Kiyosumi

  Hyotei (Passion Red):
    Inui + Hyotei = Ootori Choutarou
    Kawamura + Hyotei = Kabaji Munehiro
    Kaidoh + Hyotei = Shishido Ryo   (Note: caffeine316 did this with Ootori)
    Kikumaru + Hyotei = Oshitari Yuushi
    Any Hyotei player + Hyotei = Atobe Keigo
       (Note: I don't think Ootori or Shisido count, in this case)

  Passion Red + 2-Player Co-Op Tournament = Dan Taichi
  Cool Blue + 2-Player Co-Op Tournament = Ryuuzaki Sakuno
    (Connect Passion Red and Cool Blue, play a 2-Player co-op tournament 
     against Kabaji/Ishida-pair, Sengoku/Ibu-pair, Mizuki/Akutsu-pair, and 
     Tachibana/Atobe-pair)

Setups that don't seem to work:  (Please Help!!!)

  Hyotei (Passion Red):
    Fuji Syusuke + Hyotei = Akugatawa Jirou
    Kikumaru/Momoshiro + Hyotei = Mukahi Gakuto

Still don't know how to unlock:

 Miscellaneous:
    ??? + ??? = Tachibana Ann (Cool Blue)
    ??? + ??? = Sakaki Tarou (Passion Red)

*NOTE* It seems that sometimes maybe a luck factor has an effect or something.
I was told by caffeiene316 that beating Yamabuki with Echizen did not unlock
Akutsu, while my brother playing Passion Red unlocked Akutsu on the first shot
by beating him with Echizen.  Likewise, I personally had to play through
defeating Seigaku twice with Inui in Cool Blue to unlock Kaidoh.  I don't know
why he didn't get unlocked the first time through...
