**************************
1: Intro [INT]
**************************
Gundam Seed: Destiny is the sequel to the hit Gundam Seed: Battle Assault.
Basically that's it. As Destiny is still running in Japan, most of the
suits
here in the game are spoilers, just like Battle Assault was for the US. If
you've seen Destiny, then the beginning of the game is not a spoiler-you
start
off with the stolen ZAFT suits (Stellar's, Sting's, and Auel's) and the
ZAFT
army suits (Lunamaria's, Rey's, and Shinn's). Also, you start off with 6
of
the Seed originals- Aegis, Strike, Buster, Blitz, Duel and CGUE.

Key Changes To Gameplay
1. Save function! Yes, no more passwords. There is now automatic save
after
each opponent in Main Story Mode, and at the end of any point-gaining game.
2. Oh, yeah, points. Now, to unlock most things such as new suits, you
need to
gain points. More on that later.
3. Time Limit Mode is now replaced by Challenge Mode.
4. Obviously, new mobile suits.
5. New unlockables. Now you can change colors, find new places, and even
unlock the original GS: Battle Assault.
6. No background story for suits. There is still the talk at the end of
the
battle, though.

Cosmetic Changes

Kira and Athrun's Avatars for Aegis and Strike and Freedom, Clotho's,
Orga's,
and Shani's Avatars have changed. Seed Attacks accompany voice clips and a
picture of the pilot that performs it. End poses have changed- one for
winning
one round and the other for the 2nd round in the battle, and the 2nd one
comes
with a voice clip too.

**************************
2: Controls & Gameplay Basics [CON]
**************************

If you've played GS: Battle Assault, then you know the controls already!
The
control system hasn't changed, and it's just as easy to make attacks in
normal
mode. The learning curve is easy.

Controls (Normal Mode):

Up: Jump
Down: Duck
Left& Right: If you're facing the opposite way, then it's block/shields,
with
A, B, L it makes an attack.
A: Long Range Attack (Usually Laser Gun)
B: Short Range Attack/Melee Attack (Punch and Kick)
Left/Right +B: Sword Attack (Most Gundams)
Down + B: Low Kick/Sword Attack
L: Special Move
Left/Right + L: Special Move Alternative (Some Gundams)
Down +L: Activate Seed Mode (Berserk: Your Gundam glows and PS Armor goes
down) Press a second time to activate Seed Attack (You can only use it
once
unless you unlock Infinite Seed/Special Moves)
R: Thrusters

Before Battle:

The MS Select screen shows the MS's you've unlocked. Locked ones cannot be
selected. To change colors, push L or R if you see "1P COLOR" with the
pilot.
The New Gundams are on the left, the Classics on the right.
After selection, you choose what mode your Gundam is in. Normal Mode is
the
easiest, with two button presses to execute attacks. Manual Mode is the
gameplay used in most arcade or most fighting games, where multiple pushes
execute an attack. I will be using Normal Mode as many people who play it
use
this mode as it is easy.
Then you choose your location. The "?" mark is the random one. Go to this
square and push A to pick a random one.
A customization screen comes up. The only adjustable bars are HP and PS.
Increasing either one takes away thrusters, so be careful. The max HP or
PS
you can have is 150%.
Update: Increasing PS after 100% takes away any customization you have on
HP, then thrusters.
Tip: If you have a hard time beating a suit in Story Mode, reset the game
and then change your settings after selecting continue.

IN Battle:

HP bars go green, then red, then black. PS Armor is the yellow, then red,
then
empty. When PS Armor is gone, the suit takes more damage. PS Armor is
drained
either by being in Seed Mode, taking hits from certain attacks, or using
some
attacks such as Buster's Large Beam Attack (push L) or Freedom's Large
Beam
Attack (push L). Most of CGUE's attacks drain opponent's PS very quickly!
IF you see something like feathers come out, then you broke their shields
and can freely attack them while they're vulnerable. Only short range
attacks can do this.
Seed Attacks can be interrupted/blocked by jumping or attacking or
blocking. Most Seed Attacks will not commence if there is no one in their
target.

She wears them randomly.

There are some others things you can buy, but I can't translate them.

**************************
4: Suits (Still in Progress) [SUT]
**************************

There are different types of suits, but as the Japanese game now lists the
pilot at the top, I can't really tell you the name of the suit.
You start off with the Aegis, Duel, Buster, Blitz, Strike, CGUE, Lunamaria,
Rey, Stellar, Shinn, Sting, and Auel.
NONE of the original suits in Battle Assault have changed attacks.
500 Points- Clotho, Orga, Shani
1000 Points-Blast Gundam, Sword Gundam
Time Trial <10 minutes: Freedom
Surviving 100 times (previous times count): Justice
Beating Astray in Main Story Mode: Astray (appears randomly)
Update: I got it in Normal Mode. I think its easier to get him if you do
harder levels.
Beating Providence in Very Hard: Providence

Astray Appears in the Middle of Story Mode

Providence Appears in the End of Story Mode (basically like a boss)

Transformers Suits

Stellar
Sting
Athrun's Aegis
Clotho's Raider
Sting
Auel
Savior

Long Range Suits (Mostly Long Range Attacks)

Dearka's Buster
Kira's Freedom
Orga
Providence
Auel
Blitz
Shinn's Blast Impulse

I Love My Sword! (Sword Moves)

CGUE
Strike
Rey
Stellar
Athrun's Aegis
Shani
Auel
Athrun's Justice
Astray
Providence
Sting
Yzak's ZAKU
Sword Impulse

Kick and Punch, Man! (Short Range)

Lunamaria
Astray
Justice

Twins?

Strike and Impulse look similar and have similar moves, although have
different Seed Attacks.
Freedom and Blast Impulse are also similar, but Shinn's short range has a
farther reach and his shoulder gun (press L) is yellow instead of red.
Shinn's Seed Attack is only 26 hits while Freedom is 32 hits.
Rey and Lunamaria are both ZAKUs, but have different attacks and colors.
Rey and Yzak have similar ZAKUS, but Yzak's is purple.

Color Changes (In progress)
Push L or R to change colors when you've unlocked them.

Lunamaria & Stellar: Golden Yellow
Aegis: Purple
Buster: White & Purple
Shinn: Blue
Astray: Bright Green

5: Move Sets [MOV] (Still in Progress)
**************************

These are the ones I know for sure. I assume you're facing right. If not,
reverse directions for button combos.
I also assume you're in Normal Mode/Play.
Some moves come from Challenge mode, like Sword Attack Up from Blast
Impulse.

Lunamaria (ZAKU)

A: Throw Grenade
(Right or Down) + B: Punches/Kicks
Left + B: Mid-Kick that sends opponent flying to opposite side
L: Axe Move (Sweeping axe move)
Right + L: Sweeping Up Axe Move
Seed Attack: Throws 5 hit grenades, then follows up with beam attack from
a
gun. Max: 8-13 hits if done correctly.

Notes:
Lunamaria's suit is very weird. Not only does the sword moves come from
the L
button, she has no laser gun except in Seed Attack. Grenades and her melee
moves are the driving force.
Great for people who like close range attacks. This is great against
Providence if you're good enough.
Her close partner is Rey, who also pilots a ZAKU.

Athrun (Aegis)

Right + A: Laser Gun
Right + B: Slash
B: Kicks and Punches
Left+ B: 3 hit Semi-Fast Sword Attack
Up + B: Slash down
L: Fast Sword Attack
Right + L: Mobile Armor Attack (changes into a point and drives into
opponent)
Up + L: Beam Attack (Mid Air)
Seed: Pushes Opponent to the right, then shoots 2 beams then drives into
opponent. 10-12 hit max.

Notes:
Athrun's Mobile Armor Attack is great for going across the screen to meet
your
opponent while damaging them. His beam Attack is not that great on the
ground
unless you can time it correctly so that it actually gets the opponent on
the
ground. (Just hold it and he'll go down gradually.) The 3 sword attacks
are
great; here's my combo:
Hold Left and push L and then B. Or do the opposite way. 13 hit max.
His Mobile Armor Attack is your best friend. Nice against Providence; just
pummel Providence with Mobile Armor Attacks and avoid Providence's blade
attacks.

Dearka (Buster)

Right + A: Laser Gun (green)
Left+A: Laser Gun (Yellow)
B: Sweeping gun move
Right + B: Large Sweeping Gun Move- sends opponent flying
L: Large Laser Beam (yellow)
Up+L: Mid-Air Attack-sends pulses of laser beams at opponent
Seed Attack: Like Mid-Air except for 11 hits max.

Notes:

Dearka likes guns. That's about it. B moves are not that great except as a
starting combo for an A or L attack. Mid-Air is great if you want to catch
the
opponent off guard, and is great against Stellar in her dog form. Haven't
tried it against Providence yet.
Update: It's hard against Providence. Use L and both A attacks to finish
him off. Be careful of Providence's sword.

Lowe (Astray)

A: Bullets
B: Punches/Kicks
Up + B: Sword Swipe Down
Right + B: Short Sword Attacks
Left + B: Arm Thrust (Breaks Shields)
L: Sword Swipe Up
Right + L: Rush Swipe
Left + L: Long Sword Swipe Up
Seed: Quick series of all of the attacks except for A & L attacks. 12 hit
max.
Notes:

Very close range fighter. It's nice against any long range Gundam/Attack
because most long range attacks don't work under close range. Nice way to
attack is to alternate between sword and punches/kicks as long as your
opponent is in range. If you have a hard time attacking because of shields,
use thrust to catch the Gundam off guard then attack quickly before they
shield again. A is useless as Astray has no real long range attack except
for Rush Swipe which is useful if you're on the other side of the field.
Gundams go quickly down under a barrage of those attacks. With Providence,
be careful when you swipe up b/c Rau might swipe down and catch you off
guard. Stay in close range with Providence and keep attacking to send him
down.

*These Moves Are Incomplete*

Stellar:

Regular Form

Right + A: Laser Gun
Right + B: Sword
Left + B: Sword, except slower and in the middle
L: Transforms from Gundam to Dog (yes, it looks like a dog)
Seed Attack: Sword then Dog

Doggy! (It's the short, animal like form) (My English teacher would like
Stellar)

Right + A: Laser Gun (Low)
B: Rush
Right + B: Rabid Dog Attack (!): Rush then sweep up then sweep down. 4 hit
max
L: Change Back
Seed: Unknown

Notes:
While Stellar is in her Dog form, she doesn't have thrusters and her PS
Armor
goes down. Also she cannot jump, except while attacking, and when attacked,
transforms back.
She's similar to Athrun, except her Dog form is very hard to attack, and
very
agile. Only a few things can attack it: Athrun's Mobile Armor Attack
barely
hits her but gets your point across, and Lunamaria's Grenades can help
also if
thrown correctly. Her Dog form is the best to attack most Gundams as it's
hard
to attack her while she's down low. To dodge attacks in Dog Form use B,
you
attack and might catch the Gundam off guard while you're at it.
Providence's
Large Blade Sweep Down will get her, so attack Rau fast and hard while
you're
at it.

Shinn
Note: Shinn has 3 Gundams- Alpha (Impulse), Beta (Sword), Gamma (Blast)
This is analogous to Strike's Aile, Sword and Blaster packs except that
they are separate Gundams. Thanks to Duo Maxwell <dmax01d@hotmail.co.uk>
for this.

Alpha (Impulse Gundam)
Right + A: Laser Gun
B: Punch/Kick
Right + B: Punch/Kick/Shield Attack with Sword
L: Sweep Up with Sword
Right + L: Rush
Seed: Sword Sweeps, then Gun Attack While opponent is in mid-Air. 5 hit
Max

Shinn reminds me of Strike by its colors, but it's more different than you
think. Shinn's Seed attack has the lowest hits (Strike is 5 hit also) but
he's
good at Melee. B is your friend with Shinn.

Gamma (Blast)

Right + A: Laser Gun
(Right +)B: Sword Attack
Down + Left + B: Sword Attack Up
Hold Left + B: Large Swipe
L: Shoulder Gun
Up + L: Beam Gun (only in Midair)
Seed: Shoulder Attack + Beam Attack (similar to Freedom) 26 hit max.

Blast isn't that great (I can't get past Shani with this one) plus using L
drains PS very quickly! The Sword Attack has a great reach (similar to
Auel's) and that plus L will make a good combo. Freedom is much better
than Blast Impulse.

Justice

Right + A: Laser Gun
B: Punch/Kick
Right+ B: Sword Attack
Right + B + B: Spinning Sword Attack
L: Laser Gun x 2
?: Boomerang

Justice is a hard suit to pilot. Wonder why? It's because when he uses L,
he moves back a bit and then is vulnerable to attack. And getting the
Spinning Sword Attack isn't easy when you're under pressure.

**************************
6: Special Modes [MOD]
**************************

Here I'll list Special Modes that Seed Destiny has.

Survival:
Survive! It's a one-win battle, and after every round some of your HP and
PS
comes back. Opponents are random from what you've unlocked, but every 20
rounds (levels) Providence challenges you.
Note: As you reach 100 levels (adding up from each time you play survival
mode), Athrun's Justice Gundam appears to challenge you. Once you have 100
wins, Mirallia or the unknown girl will interrupt after the battle to tell
you have unlocked Justice. Kira's Freedom Gundam then will be level 20's
Gundam.
Update: Justice becomes level 10's Gundam if you unlock him.

Strategy: Don't use Seed. It's a test on how long you can endure, not a
time
rush. Seed saps PS Armor. Only in dire situations use Seed.
Close range is good, and quickly kills the opponent. Athrun's Mobile Armor
Attack and Dearka's Mid Air Beam Attack work very well also.

Time Trial:
Tests how fast you can defeat opponents. Depends on how many you've
unlocked.
Providence comes at the very end.

Strategy: If you want to get Freedom, use Seed every round. Remember that
to
get Freedom you must beat trial mode under 10 minutes. Best Suits to use
at
the beginning of the game are Aegis, Buster, and Stellar. These pack a
punch
and are fast. Know the moves of your Gundam very well. You have to execute
combos and don't let the opponent attack you.

Challenge Mode:

Challenge Mode tests how well you can do combos. There is a unique set of
combos for each Gundam. This is very advanced. After each combo you go on
to
the next "mission" or level.

Strategy: Watch the demos. To stop a demo, press Start. You can try as
many
times as you want with the Gundam until you get it.

**************************
7: Main Story Mode [MSM]
**************************

Main Story Mode is basically how you get most of your points. The Story
Mode
is exactly the same from the game Battle Assault except there is no
background
story before the first battle like in BA.

I can't currently tell if the Gundams are random or not, except for Astray
and
Providence which appear, respectively, at the middle and at the end of the
suit's story mode.
Update: Gundams you fight change with each difficulty- i.e. you might
fight Freedom again with Normal but have totally different Gundams with
Hard or Easy.
Update: If you buy Destiny-related Gundams such as Blast Impulse, you do
not meet Astray again if you unlock it. If you buy or unlock any classic
BA Gundam and unlock Astray you will fight Astray.

There is a pattern, though. The classic 6 suits you start with from BA do
not
battle anyone outside of BA except for the six new ones that you start
with
(and Providence).
Update: Justice actually meets Shinn's new Gundam and Yzak's ZAKU during
Story Mode. Astray meets Shinn 3 times, himself, Athrun's Savior Gundam,
and Yzak's ZAKU.
Therefore, Kira will not fight any other new Gundam (for
example, Athrun's new Gundam that he gets from ZAFT in Destiny) except for
Rey,
Lunamaria, Shinn, Stellar, Auel, Sting and Providence.
The new suits will fight new Gundams and some of the classics.

Athrun and Yzak come back in new Gundams for Main Story Mode. Battle any
of
the new Gundams to see what they pilot.

After each battle and before a new battle, the game automatically saves
your
point. To continue, select Main Story Mode and select continue.

At the end, Mirallia from Seed will tell you your points if you played a
Seed
Character, and an unknown girl will tell you your points if you played a
Destiny character.

8: FAQ [FAQ]
**************************

Q: What does such and such pilot?
A: For the new Destiny characters, I can't tell what their names of their
Gundams are. For the classic BA ones:

Athrun: Justice and Aegis
Kira: Strike and Freedom
Nicol: Blitz
Dearka: Buster
Yzak: Duel
Orga: Calamity
Clotho: Raider
Shani: Forbidden
Lowe: Astray
Rau: CGUE

Update: After some researching, I found out Shinn's Gundam (the one you
start with) is Impulse Gundam
Duo Maxwell sends this:

Shinn: Sword Impulse and Blast Impulse
Athrun's new Gundam: Savior
Stellar: Gaia
Sting: Chaos
Auel: Abyss
Lunamaria: Gunner ZAKU
Rey: Blaze ZAKU Phantom
Yzak: Sword ZAKU Phantom

Q: You spell some of the character names wrong! DO you even watch Seed?
A: Honestly, no. I don't have cable but I do love Gundam, and that's what
counts. ^^

Q: What? I just bought something from the shop and now I can't tell what
changed!
A: I'm in the process of translating the Japanese.
FYI:
Saturn=Location Unlock
Two Gundam Heads=Color Change (It says 2P in description)
One Gundam Head=MS Unlock (it also says MS in the description)
Pilot Helmet=Pilot Unlock (there's only 3)
?=Unknown thing/Mode
Arm= Lacus Clyne shop uniforms (appear randomly after you buy them)

Q: What do the pilots say when they do their Seed Attacks or at the end of
each Battle?
A: It's hard to tell with the GBA. It might be ha! or some cuss word for
all I
know.

Q: Is Stellar a girl or a boy?
A: She looks like Calgali. A girl probably. I know, you can't tell her sex
from the picture.
Update: From the sound clip, she sounds like a girl. Duo says she is a
girl.

Q: Are your attacks the real names for the attacks?
A: No. They're descriptive names actually. They closely match the action.
If
you can't tell from the name, email me, and I'll make sure I put it in the
FAQ.

Q: Why don't you have move lists for such and such?
A: Because
1: They're exactly the same as in BA (I put Athrun and Dearka in because I
know exact ones)
2: You can find it in Seth0708's FAQ/Move List on Gamefaqs.com. He has the
"offical" names of the moves for the classic ones.
3: I haven't unlocked it yet or found out how to execute the moves. Some
of
these take time, you know.

Q: I've unlocked BA! Is this the exact same one?
A: Yes. This is a carbon copy of the American BA. This is 10000 points at
the shop.
