I used to be able to do them without fail, but lately I have gotten back to playing on occaision and cannot remember the timing for getting boosts at the start of a race. When exactly should I hit A?

statusPress and hold "A" halfway between the last light and the signal for "GO!" That will get you a power boost.

Hold the A button at the third light.

In the middle of the second light, press A.
