Asked on: 12/24 11:10PMSeveral of the FAQs on this site mention "chaining" or "comboing" secret/deadly skills when discussing boss strategies. I have read the manual, as well as the "controls" section of every FAQ I can find, but none mention how you can accomplish this. How do you do this? Also, is this related to the "combo counter" item? I haven't figured out what it does or how to use it, either.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean still. Do you mean pressing the button sequence for a second skill immediately after that of the first skill? I can't see how that would ever work; I often get hit in the middle of the first skill and remain unable to complete it. I don't think I've ever gotten an entire Sword Rain without getting interrupted. The skills that show up in green (the ones that require you to master two other skills before use) are particularly hard to complete, as they often combine completely unrelated skill types - so for example, Demon Fang doesn't really help much against flying enemies, while Swallow Kick doesn't help against things that remain on the ground. Yet, there's Demon Swallow Kick which combines the two. The only thing that it would make sense to use it against is the Golems that are tall enough to be hit by the Swallow Kick, but yet remain on the ground so that the Demon Fang will get them, too.
I think you're thinking about the combo command, not the combo counter.

statusAs far as i know they mean that some skills can be linked very fast for example i like to link a tiger blade to the secret skill lightning tirger blast or demonic tiger blade, just try to link skills that you like.
When you equip the combo counter it makes cless able to perform any skill without having to set them. for example instead of setting demon fang to B you have to make the following combination "down, fordward + B" just check the skills list forr the combinations
Just equip the combo command.
A good combination for cress (later in the game anyways) that i like to use a lot is Tiger Blade, + Chaos Blade +Distortion Blade, Which is pretty useful in dhaos' Castle in the future. But if you're trying to get a good lasting combo in the colliseum, just spam Tiger Blade + Chaos Blade until the enemy dies ( corner them against the wall so that they cant move or get knocked back anymore for maximum damadge).
Besides the skill lunge, you can link just about any other skill to atleast one other skill.
