Yoshi Topsy-Turvy

If you loved Yoshi's Island, and are expecting a game similar to it, then this is NOT the game to buy. If your expecting a quirky little fun game to pass some time for awhile, then this is the game for you.

GAMEPLAY: 6/10
Ugh, the gameplay in this game is NOT good... it's not really bad but it just tries different things and doesn't really pull them off too well. First off is the fact that this game uses the gyro-sensor that was also used in Wario Ware: Twisted! but... the response and accuracy of it just doesn't seem as good in this game. And sometimes it gets hard to control when you have to spin your GBA around while holding down on the D-pad and pressing the buttons. Jsut doesn't mix too well. The platforming parts just aren't too fun either, nothing compared to the past Yoshi games. All in all the gameplay was pretty disappointing.

GRAPHICS: 5/10
The graphics in this game are pretty crappy. I don't like them at all. They look okay from a technical/story-wise standpoint I guess but the art style just doesn't look to great to me. I realize everything is supposed to look like a pop-up book, but couldn't they make it look like Paper Mario or something? The graphics were pretty disappointing too.

SOUND/MUSIC: 6/10
The sound and music in the game are pretty good, with Yoshi's usual grunts and whatnot, and the music are pretty good and catchy tunes. Nothing you'll probably be remembering for along time though.

REPLAYABILITY: 6/10
Not much going for it here, unless your trying to complete the game 100%, I don't see much reason to keep on playing the game. Its not fun enough to want to go back and play through again.

If your looking for a great platformer, or even a new unique game, I just don't think this game stands up to test. There are many better games out there to buy for either purpose. If you still want the game though, it's only $20 now, so it MIGHT be worth it. Just don't expect too much.
