Dungeons & Dragons: Eye of the Beholder
Review by MoeBear
"RPG old school"
This is the first time I played a game like this, so for all those D&D players from the old version of PC games, its nothing new, or you have seen it all before, but to people like me and others that have never experienced a game like this, its kind of hard, but fun. I have played RPGs like Fable, but its nothing compared to this. This is like old fashion board game gone electronic.
You start out in a dungeon, searching and exploring your way to find the exit to reach the next level. There are ten levels, fairly easy, once you get the hand of maneuvering in the mazes, or dungeons. It was hard for me at first, but once I got to the second level, it was pretty much simpler. Controlling your party is hard, well it was for me at first. Didn't quite get the hang of it till later levels like 4 or 5. You start out with four members, and later can max it out to six with your choice of add ons.
You can decide in the beginning what type of charters you want, like for example, sneaky, strength, wizards, healers, you know things like that. The traits are kind of confusing, and some are straight forward, you need to look up each one or have a print out to decide what you want to add to your character. I liked 4 fighters, and two clerics to heal them in combat. One thing, this is no one day game, it will take you time, it has taken me several weeks to clear.
So the bottom line, is it worth your money?? yes, considering its an older game, but still popular. Worth your time, if you like these type of games or willing to give it a try and see? it sure is. On the other hand if you played D&D games on the PC or other places, its nothing much you really haven't seen before and will get bored. By the way the graphics on this game aren't all that great, its lots of brick mazes back and fourth, and the fight seen graphics are so and so. these two are the most important part of the game and will be seeing it a lot.
