Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury
Review by darkfir
"The best in the series."
Story: The story is based on the third and final saga of dragon ball Z, Buu saga. The game follows the story incredibly well and accurate. Unlike the legacy games, this one does not have you doing some weird quests that have nothing to do with the story. The games ends right after you beat the final boss. Every major character appears in the game, and of course you control the key ones like Goku and Vegeta. The game starts with a flash back, so even if you never played legacy of goku, the game does a good job in filling you in with key events. The dialogue is great, they followed the DBZ script without any changes or mistakes. Overall I loved the story, since this is my favorite saga.
Graphics- Beautiful! Who knew GBA could handle such colorful graphics. The game captures the look of the dragon ball z world perfectly. Everything from the environments, characters, attack, look exactly like the anime. They put lots of details to the character models, you will easily recognize them despite their small size.
Gameplay- Dragonball Z Buu's fury play like an action RPG. You control a character, move around freely and fight enemies in real-time. No random battles, and other annoying stuff. You gain experience and level up until you hit level 50. When fighting, you have two options: melee and energy attacks. Melee attacks are limited to one button, so don't expect lots of combos. Each character have a special energy attack, like Kamehameha and Big Bang attack. There are five characters in the game, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Goten and Trunks. Later in the game, you will have the ability to transform into super sayain. The overall combat is solid, but lacks some depth.
Value- Its short, no its very short. You can beat it in less than five hours. After you beat it there is secret character and few side quests. But since the game is so easy, I don't think you will want to play it again. But for a DBZ fan, you will probably beat countless times.
Overall- This is by far the best DBZ game on GBA. Its short and easy but very fun. The graphics are absolutely beautiful. It is fairly cheap now, I recommend it for DBZ fans. Even for non DBZ fans, this is a fun, light RPG that you will most likely enjoy.
Final score-8
