"Pretty good for a GBA game."

I was doing some work for my neighbor about a year ago. Usually I get around $50 or so for doing whatever jobs he needs done, but this time was different. When I was done with my work he told me he didn't have any money with him, so instead he would give me something else. When he came back from inside he gave me a copy of Wolfenstein 3D for the GBA that he had kicking around for some reason or another. It was a pretty good game, especially for the price he told me he got it at.

Story? What story? There is absolutely no story to this game. All you did was walk around and blow away a bunch of Germans and Frankensteins in a bunch of old, spooky castles. You eventually get to a boss in each castle, you kill them, and you get a written description of how they died. The only thing that remotely resembles a story is after you kill each boss, you get a little bit of information about what's going on in the next castle.
Story 2/10

The graphics were horrible to say the best. There was nothing 3D about the game. The people were nothing more than a bad looking gun barrel shooting some tan and blue blocks. Also, no matter how many times you walked around a dead minion, all you would see was their feet. This was the same with everything else in the game.
Graphics 4/10

The sound was just as bad as the graphics. Opening doors sounds like dropping a heavy lead brick on the ground. Shooting sounded like just a few fire-crackers going off. Dog's barking sounded more like a dog who just gave birth trying to protect it's kids that flesh-eating dogs. Sreams sounded like actual screams, however.
Sound 5/10

The controls were one of the best parts of the game. All you had to know was how to move, open doors, and shoot. The controls never lagged, and were great for fast paced shooting. The only problem was that if you got enemies on both side of you, the fact that you have to use a D-Pad instead of a joystick pretty much means you're dead.
Controls 8/10

This game is definitely worth replaying, despite the horrible graphics, sound, and story. The reason for this is that you almost never get 100% on any given level. You can play the game again and again until you reach perfection. There are always hundreds of more nemies to kill, secrets to find, and trasures to collect. Plus if you want to literally beat the game you have to do it on all four skill modes (Can I Play Daddy?, Don't Hurt Me, Bring 'Em On, and Death Incarnate.)
Replay Value 10/10

Overall this game is a good game to play on one of those long car or plane rides. You'll get hours of challenge out of it, and you definitely one beat it in one battery life of you GBA. The graphics and sound suck so that's enough to bring the overall down a few points, but that's OK. I would say that if you're a person who likes shooters, long games, puzzles, and a good challenge, then you should definitely buy this game, especially since it's so cheap, provided you have a GBA. This game is also available for the PC.
Overall 7/10
