Jurassic Park III: Park Builder

"Great concept, but could have done better"

This game is one of the greatest concepts I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the game isn't as great as the concept. This game just has a lot of flaws, but it still has its moments.

Graphics - 8/10
For the GBA, the graphics are really good. They graphics are really one of the best parts of this game. Of course, I would have liked to see more sprites for the dinosaurs in the pen, but it is no big deal, because of all the detailed artwork in the portraits of the dinos.

Gameplay - 4/10
At first, the game play of this game is amazing. You start at a empty island and you send the excavation crew to go get DNA, while you start to build your pens and restaurants and pathways and roads. That for me is the most entertaining part of the game. After that, it gets kind of repetitive. You get in a habit of sending the excavation crew, waiting for their return, running advertisements, and then making and placing dinosaur eggs. Although it is exciting to see the dinos you get and create, it gets old quick. You start to get the same DNA over and over again and you start to lose money buy paying for damages to Dino-pens, restaurant upgraded, and treatment for the dinosaurs, until you go bankrupt. Then you start a new game and the cycle starts all over again.

Story - 4/10
Nothing much to say here except there really is no story. It's not a real problem, because you can't really expect much from a game like this, but absolutely NOTHING happens. I would have really liked to see something happen, like perhaps some dinos escape or another business wants to join up with you or something. At least something needs to happen.

Overall - 6/10
It's an alright game, don't get me wrong, it just should have been on a bigger console or at least thought out better. Do I recommend you buy this game? Well, go ahead. It's old enough now that it is really cheap, and It will give you a few solid hours of fun.
