"A good Medabot game"

What happens when you mix rpg elements, funny characters, complicated battles and medabots parts? You get this game!

Story: 5/10
The story of this game is simple and is not too original. You are a boy named Ikki, who wants to be the best meda-fighter in the world. But to do that, you will have to battle the infamous Rubber Robo Gang, a gang who wants to conquer the world using medabots. Ikki will have to fight the gang and he will have to meet new and old friends that will aid him in his quest to save the world.

Graphics: 7/10
This game does not have the best graphics, but they are not bad either. When the hero is traveling trough towns, the graphics are good, but when he robo-battles the graphics become a worse, aside from the cut scenes where the medabots attack each other.

Sound: 4.5/10
The music of this game is not as good as it should have been. At first, it will not bother you, nor it will amuse you, but later in the game you will be annoyed to listen the same battle music over and over again.

Gameplay: 7/10
The gameplay is the most important thing in this game. At first, when you start the game, it will not be too hard, but later on, they difficult increases quite a bit. The battle system is good, but it could have been a lot better. For example, when the head part of a medabot is broken, it ceases functions. The objective in a robo-battle is to cease the function of the leader medabot. What annoys me is that sometimes, all your medabots target different parts of different medabots, instead of the head, but your opponent attacks your leader medabot and beats it in one round. It's frustrating that sometimes you have a great team, but some weak medabots beat you, because they could attack the head medapart and you could not.

Another bad thing in this game is the random encounters. It's good to have random encounters, but this game is annoying because for every three or four steps you will face a random encounter. Another problem is that you can only run from random encounters using a rubber robo medal and they are hard to find, at least at the beginning of the game. If you lose a duel, you will have to give one of your medaparts to the meda-fighter that beat you.

Anyway, this game has also good things. First of all, there are a lot of medaparts, so you can customize your medabots as you wish, to make them good attackers, good defenders or good healers. Second, the game is long. And third, if you are a fan of medabots, you will find here a lot of characters that appear in the anime version. Also, the game has some rpg elements, since you win experience and level up medals to make them stronger.

Play Time/ Replayability: 6.5/10
As I have said before, this game is long, so that is a good thing. But because of that and since the game is difficult, I think that most people will not want to replay it, at least, not multiple times.

Overall 6/10
This is the only Medabots game that I played so far and I think that it was a good gaming experience. Sometimes I really wanted to quit playing, because of the difficulty, but other times, the story and characters really make up for the difficulty, so I continued to play the game to the end and I was glad that I finished it. If you are a fan of medabots, I'm sure that you will like this game too. If you like rpg's, but don't like medabots, I suggest that you buy one of the final fantasy remakes.
