Dragon Ball GT: Transformation
Review by EvilDeadTrap
"DBGT Fans, here's something that's worth the time!"
I'm not going to lie to you. I LOVE Dragon Ball GT. It was my favourite from the entire Dragon Ball series versions. I think it is totally under-rated.
But this is an honest opinion on a Dragon Ball GT game! Does it reach us DBGT fans standards? Well, with my honest opinion, I can honestly tell you that YES, it reaches our standards, and YES - it's worth the time!
Let's begin the review!
GAMEPLAY 8/10 --
Alrighty! So basically, this is what could be called a side-scroller beat-em-up with Dragon Ball GT written all over it, and a few perks. The controls are nice, moving with the D-Pad, and using B, A, R and L to use your attacks! The attacks are nice, limited, but nice. They include punch/kick, ki-blast, super attack ki blast, spinny attack and a wonderful slide move that can come in useful! It's quite simple really, usually you will just continue walking forward beating up enemies on the ground or in the air (on different planets, mind you!). It gets a bit boring at times, and that's why GAMEPLAY deserves only an 8.
STORY 9/10 --
Basically you will be going through the BABY SAGA. It begins with Goku being turned into Chibi Goku by the Dragon Balls, them being thrown through the universe - and you have to go and search for them before the Earth is destroyed! It's more of a thing you have to see to understand. At the beginning and end of a planet, there will be a short dialog from the characters. That's why STORY only got a 9, because it is TOO short, but it's all there, really.
GRAPHICS 10/10 --
Character sprites are drawn nicely, to scale, and are an exact replica from the series. The backgrounds are also nicely drawn, and have a 3D effect to them. Planet surfaces have all been designed nicely and honest to the series!
SOUND 1/10 --
The sound gets very tiring after a whilst, because it's mainly the same thing after another. If I were you, I'd turn it off whilst playing.
REPLAYABILITY 10/10 --
With so many unlockables and times to beat, I don't see what replayability there ISN'T until you unlock everything! It's a nice challenge too, to try and ge t all instances and characters!
FINAL OPINION 38/50 (GOOD)
This is a nice game, and with all the unlockables it's a must have for any DBGT fans and even fans of side-scroller beat-em-ups! If you're not interested in any of those things, you will find this game boring and dull!
FINAL SCORE -- 8/10
