Review by LaraCroftRocks

"Incredible? Not how I see it."

I've played the Incredibles on the PS2, and it wasn't super, but much better than on the Gameboy Advanced. Still, this game does have some good points about it, and if you don't already know, the name "The Incredibles" originally came from the Disney/Pixar film, "The Incredibles." As always, the fim usually does a terrific job, while the video game that is made from the movie turns out to be not near as nice of a job.

The Incredibles? I have to say that this is another luny video game based on a movie. It's fun to play the first couple of levels, but after that, it's kind of boring. Many games on the GBA are like that, though. And so my review shall begin.

GAMEPLAY- 5/10

Here's the major flaw in gameplay: the same routines, the same enemies, and the same traps are present throughout the ENTIRE game. I have to say, this game is rather long, which is most definitely why you'll want to find passwords on the internet to get to the best of the levels. The first couple of levels are nice to play through, but it just seems that the exact same of everything pops up along the way. Nothing new really happens along the way. Here's how it goes: kill the robot, slug the henchmen, leap onto the ledge, slay another robot, take down an army of henchmen, grab the health box, dodge another wave of henchmen, destroy another pair of robots... and the story could go on.

STORYLINE- 7/10

You kind of get the basic idea of what is going on... but besides that, it's not as detailed as the movie was. It seemed that the Incredibles on the PS2 was far more detailed, but this one is just kind of bluh. In case you don't know what the story is about, you should know that Mr. Incredible was an old-time superhero, but after some incidents in the environment, all supers (that's right, there are many more than thim) were banned from helping the public like they used to. Now that Bob's got a family (Elastigirl, another super, married him and they had kids- a whole family of supers!), he's tired of being the average person and tries to relive the glory days...

GRAPHICS- 9/10

Good for the GBA, anyway. This game has never gotten choppy with me, and each character looks like they should.

LENGTH- 10/10

This game could last forever. There are so many levels, but each one fortunately has a password. But the thing is, if you play it in story mode, the game gets SO boring, after doing the same things for the 1000th time, which is why I recommend that you use passwords to get to the Violet, Mrs. Incredible, and Frozone levels. Those are the funnest of levels. Mr. Incredible levels, unfortunately, can be boring.

MUSIC- 9/10

Each music tune is pretty nice to listen to. There isn't a lot more I can say, because there's nothing to brag about or shout at.

CHALLENGE- 7/10

Well, atleast the challenge rating is in my challenge range. The waves of henchmen and flurrying robots can be a pain in the rear, though. Traps aren't found regularly, but I found that this game was more centric on combat than adventure.

REPLAY VALUE- 2/10

Some levels are fun to replay, while others are ones that you'll recognize and decide to quit at right away. I mean, there just isn't a lot of fun in replaying the Mr. Incredible levels.

OVERALL- 5/10

Positives:
- Nice music
- You get to play as Frozone, which you couldn't on the PS2
- LONG
- No concerns with graphics
- Game is fun at first

Negatives:
- Gets really boring after some time
- Mr. Incredible: yawn
- The same enemies come time after time
- Not much variety in music
- Not enough reason to replay it
- Weak storyline

That's my review. Rent or buy? I'm going to say rent for all folks, the game is nice, but if you buy it you'll find yourself getting bored after some time. Thank you!
