Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Pumpkin King

Review by MoeBear

"The Pumpkin King is for Real"

INTRO
Believe it or not this was a great movie, and for some strange reason it turned out to be a great video game. It is very rare you see a good hand held game these days. You would enjoy this game better if you saw the movie and you could relate to the characters. Otherwise you might be a bit lost, cause this game does not explain who the characters are and what their purpose is in Halloween town. You just going to have to use common sense. So this is one of those see movie first then play game.

GAMEPLAY
This is excellent game playing, with high replay value. There is so much to do in this game you don't know where to start. It is long, and gets crazy hard at the end, so you need patience. There is no time limit, so you can take your time walking around and killing things. Don't forget to look everywhere for special items. You have a crazy big world map, with maps in the world map. So you need to use it wisely and backtrack when you need to. This is a solid action platform game, with plenty of game play. This is a game well worth your money if you like Jack The Pumpkin King. The best thing about this game is, when you think you saw it all think again, it throws a new twist at you. It keeps you on your toes. This is a job very well done from the developers.

APPEARANCE
Too good to be true. All the characters look like they do in the movie. Don't forget that's kind of hard to get good detailed characters from a hand held game, but Nintendo Game Boy Advance always seems to get it done right. I tip off my hat to them. Not did they put out a good game, but with great graphics and sound too! I almost forgot the music and sound is great too. You have your typical scary Halloween music, very nicely done.

OVERALL
I really don't know what else to say about this game. I think I already said so many good things about it. I don't want to reveal too much, cause the gamer does need to see some surprises in the game. The value of this game is not bad either, I got it for 20 bucks new, and you can't top that anywhere. So if you are a fan of the movie you should get this game and get ready to be amazed.
