"Close, but not close enough to Mario Kart"

Konami Krazy Racers was a pretty good seller in Japan so you would thing it would be good but its pretty Mediocre.
Konami Krazy Racers will be better then you expected but then again its just a Mario Kart Clone, it plays almost like Mario Kart for SNES. So no originality but if your good at racing games then it might be worth adding to your library of GBA games.

Gameplay-10
Not bad at all, it has a nice button layout and the response is tight. Also being able to buy extras of weapons
is great because it adds more in-depth strategy to the races
because in the game the coins you use to buy them are a bit limited. Plus there is multiplayer so you can race with friends but with two game paks. Plus there are two mini-games, Bomb Chaser and Chicken! Also in the game there is a Rumor Board where you will be able to find some tips and secrets as you progress in the game. What is cool is also a special License Center where you can upgrade your license to unlock more cups and track to race in. There are also a nice amount of characters and tracks to keep you busy. Plus a few goodies you can unlock.

Graphics-7
They are not bad, but then again not good. You really won't be shocked to much at the graphics. But the nice thing is the Mode 7 graphics, it makes the game very colorful but the frame rate gets a bit choppy if you too many racers in your view and you go over a boost or something. But other wise its very good.

Sound-9
You will be amazed and shock when you hear the starting theme. There are really words in the song, its not like in Super Mario Advanced where you hear a few voices here they are singing! Also the music on the tracks are not to bad.

Control-8
Good basic control, easy to get used to. It will almost if not exact be the same controls for the new Mario Kart game coming out for the GBA soon, so get used to it!

Originality-8
This game has a very basic linear story but the thing that makes it stand out is the amount of new features seen in a racing game. There are the two minigames, Bomb Chaser and Chicken. The Rumor Bored which is filled with tips as you progress through the game and of course the License Center which puts you through a trial of test and if you complete them you unlock new cups and tracks and for each license upgrade the test get harder and harder.

Replay-7
If you are good at racing games, this game will last for months. But if you are not too good the this game will last less then a month! Because once you can't pass the license test to unlock the new cups and track you will get bored quick with the tracks and new features. But if you are good you will play this game over and over, with the cool stuff you unlock.

Overall-8
This game is very good for video game racing fans. But if you are not a racing fan then you will get bored quick.

The Bottom Line: If you are good at racing games buy it, if not you might want to rent it, otherwise I would wait for the new Mario Kart Game
