"Blowing up things couldn't be better...."

After about a week with Bomberman Tournament for the Gameboy Advance, and a few sets of double a batteries, i've decided my first review ought to be one of my new favorite games.

Gameplay - The games pretty fun, whether your playing mutli-player (battle mode) or single player (quest mode). The game isn't easy, or hard.. its simply put, ''average''. It plays a lot like the hand held Zelda games. The controls on the other hand aren't the best, but after playing a few hours you should have gotten used to them. The one thing that bothers me about it the most is the fact that their is no pause for battle mode.

Story - The planet phantarion has been attacked by the evil bombers, and bomberman max (the advanced form of bomberman) is sent to save it. Bomberman max Fails. Now, Bomberman, with the help of the planets residents and karabons (the animal life on phantarion) must save the planet, and bomberman max. Note, that each of the karabons that bombmerman aquires will aid him in his bombming techniques, they will also battle each other on occaision for prizes that will aid you in your journey.

Audio / Video - The sound for bomberman tournament is what you would expect. Nothing that will get stuck in your head, and nothing that you will have to lower the volume for. The graphics are also expected for a bomberman game. They are clearly better than Gameboy Color, but not the best that the Gameboy Advance has to offer.

Replay Value - The quest modes replay value isn't that good, but with the addition of battle mode in the same cartridge all is well. Bomberman Tournament delivers excellent replay value, and overall fun for all.

Buy, Rent or Ewww, Get That Away! - A definite must buy for those who enjoy overhead adventure/rpg type games, and for those who enjoy multiplayer. Then again, it is a must buy for everyone because of the fact that it has up to 4 players with just 1 cartridge.

Overall - Overall this game deserves a fairly high raiting, because not only does it fufil a great single player need, but a non stop fun (that is unless you lose) multiplayer mode.

As a final thought, Hudson and Activision did a wonderful job in bringing Bomberman to the Gameboy Advance, and I look forward to another installment in the on going Bomberman Legacy.
