Wario Land 4
Review by PsyTom2000
"The best platformer on GBA"
Wario Land 4. The next in the Wario Land series, and, just like the others, it fails to disappoint (which is good by the way). Right from the start, with the opening sequence, you WILL be impressed with the game. The opening sequence, and the title screen, has excellent graphics (for the Game Boy Advance anyway) and it has brilliant sound. Which brings me to...
GRAPHICS - 10/10
Wario Land 4 is one of the best games on the Game Boy Advance when it comes to graphics. This is some of the best graphics you will find on a hand held. You can actually see Wario change the expression on his face! The enemies that change Wario's condition... Wario looks funny (and by that I mean both funny ha ha and funny weird) when his condition changes. Like when he is set on fire, he runs around like a maniac... that's funny! Also, the look of each level is different than the level before, which is good, because if every level was the same, well, the game would be too easy and have no gameplay (but I'll get to that later).
SOUND - 10/10
The sound is THE BEST I have heard on a hand held! This game has some music that, if you were not prepared, would probably make you speechless for a long time. Lots of the music is catchy and you will soon find yourself humming to every tune! When Wario enters a level, his famous 'Here I go!' comes out perfectly. And indeed, the sound is perfect.
GAMEPLAY - 10/10
This game has excellent gameplay, each level is different which definitely helps, because, as I may have said earlier, if each level was the same, the game would be too easy, and it would not have good gameplay. The game gets harder and harder as you keep playing it, which is a good thing because it provides a challenge, and without a challenge, the game is too easy. It will not, however, get so hard that you have to break your Game Boy Advance, which is also good, because we don't want to blow $AUS200, do we?
OVERALL - 10/10
The best platformer on the Game Boy Advance, and probably will be the best until Wario Land 5 comes calling, and I hope that maybe Wario Land 5 will have a Two player mode, in fact, that's the only thing I wasn't happy about, but, hey, who cares about a Two Player mode, when the One Player mode is excellent?
If you are convinced that this is a good game, go get it now. If, however, you don't trust me, why don't you go rent it and see.
