Review by Ryan Rider

"What are all you saying? This is the best WWF game in the history of pocket gaming!"

Introduction: Before you read this, I do have to admit that I haven't written a review for a game in almost a year. This game may be challenging, but with a bit of practice, you'll end up loving it, especially if you are a major wrestling fan like me!

Gameplay 8/10:

I have to say that this game is not the easiest game. Read the instructions book, and/or people's FAQs for the button controls, and then PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! At first, it is not too fun. After about 20 minutes of playing/learning the controls, I realized how good the game really is! THQ promised us that since they never released WWF No Mercy on GBC, that this would be extra good! I mean, there are 25 wrestlers with theme music(more on that later), a complete season mode, several different types of matches, and much more! In King Of The Ring, you do exactly like the real one-have a tournament with 2 to 8 different wrestlers! In Iron-Man matches, you can choose a 15, 30, 45, or 60 minute time limit. The person with the most submits, pinfalls and count-outs in the match is proclaimed the winner. In Season mode, you compete for a year at a time, with one match being a week. This is a good way to practice. There is also Exhibition, Royal Rumble, and Pay Per View modes. The controls are also pretty good, but the way that they have different controls for different measures of momentum can get pretty confusing. But, as DDP would say: That's not a bad thing; that's a good thing, because now, you can use your brain!

Audio/Video 10/10:

As for the graphics, they are AWESOME! The wrestlers entrances themes are excellent for a hand-held system. You can hear the music, as for see the video clearer than the N64! The graphics during the matches are way better than those of any past Game Boy WWF game, or any other wrestling game in that matter. Also, several times during the season mode, when there are interviews/promos/etc. the graphics aren't too bad. When people like Vince Mcmahon talk, it is perfect sound and pretty sweet graphics for as I said, Pocket Gaming.

Replayability 7/10:

This game is in no doubt extremely fun. The only problem is that after beating season mode several times, and playing against your friends using the cable link countless times; the game gets BORING! So put it away for a few weeks/months, and then it will be fun again.

To buy or to rent? na/10:

Well, that depends. If you are a big fan of wrestling games, you have to buy this! Trust me, you will not be disappointed! On the contrary, if you have no interest in wrestling or do not like fighting games, this game is not for you! If you are not sure if you'd like it or not, go to your local Blockbuster and rent it! I rented it, and loved it so I got it as a present for Chanuka.

Overall(not an average): 8/10

As i've said earlier in the review, and will say again: WWF: Road To Wrestlemania is a little challenging, but you'll probably end up loving it, if you practice for a bit of course or if you are a wrestle-maniac like me!
