"Mega Boring... Mega Dissapointing."

As I play through this game I realize that the Megaman name will never be the same again... first with that legends trash, and now this.

The Graphics are done very well in 3/4th perspective... however I have a hard time believe that the main character Lan (whom is in 5th grade) is as tall as every other person in his world. The portrait art and landscapes are done very well, and the Cyberspace scenes have good use of the GBA layering.

The music isn't bad at all, but none of it is too memorable or exciting. ;( It would have been nice to hear some classic Megaman music, but I suppose whatever Capcom team produced this, didn't work heavily with the Original Rockman Team. The sound effects are pretty good.

I don't see why given the chance to make a more interactive adventure Megaman Game (RPG.. some say) that they (capcom) wouldn't bring back more of the Robot Masters in their original looking forms, and have the attacks ALL based on the robot masters (there are almost 100!) All of these new enemies seem kind of pointless.

I don't like the fact that this Mayl girl gets close to Lan, thus bringing Megaman and Roll together... they are brother and sister! (like it or not!)

My main complaint here is that the game is boring. I often find it draws out the same scenarios and you have little concern whether the hero and his friends live or die. The only time I'm really enjoying myself is in the boss battles because its the only time the game presents a decent challange. The puzzles are all VERY VERY VERY predictable and to a point you just want to get the game over with.

I have not tried any of the linking modes, though it might be fun to fight against another Megaman.

Try it at a friends before you buy it... although it may seem fun at first, you experience all there is to know about Rockman.exe in the first 10 minutes.

In another strange note in Japan they are debuting an Anime Series based on this game called Battle Network Rockman.exe (the name of the japanese title) a sequel for the game is already available in Japan and will very likely be coming here.

I see a few complaints on here about replay value... all I can say is its Play THROUGH value is low enough.
