"Another conversion of a classic FPS..."

Now, back when I was a little kid, I never stopped playing Wolfenstein. Whether I repeatedly died or not, I didn't stop. It was an addiction. Until I switched to other FPS games, such as Doom.

Wolfenstein is a classic FPS game. Not up to today's standards, but still a great game.

STORY: 7/10

Since when did FPS shooters have that much story in it? Well, regardless if FPS game are supposed to have story or not, Wolfenstien has a lot of it. As William ''B.J.'' Blazkowicz, an Allied spy, you're charged with the mission of finding the plans for Operation Eisenfaust (Iron Fist). Unfortunately, you were captured and was thrown into a prison, Castle Wolfenstien. Now, you have to make your brave escape and run back to the allies...

GAMEPLAY: 8/10

Lovely. It's a PERFECT conversion. Every part of the game, just like the original PC version. They even kept the unrealistic way of firing from afar and your enemies die when you aim beside them. Not up to today's FPS standards, or even GBA standards, but this is Wolfenstein. One thing to note, it'll get laggy now and then if there's too many enemies at once.

AUDIO: 4/10

The original PC Wolfenstein was great in audio. Backround music, gun fire, enemy soldiers shouting at you, and finally picking up items. Each had its own distinguishable sound. It's still the same in the GBA. Only that, unfortunately, there is no backround music. None. Total silence besides gunfire, screams, and other little sound effects. Luckily, the total silence isn't that bad. Allows you to hear a bit more.

GRAPHICS: 8/10

Just like the original PC version. Everything's the same. And it's pretty suitable for the GBA.

DIFFICULTY: 7/10

Not too hard, not too easy. You have a selection of 4 difficulties. ''Can I play daddy?'' Hardly has any enemies. And if there are enemies, they're pretty stupid. ''Don't hurt me'' is the same, but the guards a little smarter. ''Bring'em on!'' is default. Good for average players. ''I am Death incarnate!'' is for the most skilled players. The most amount of enemies with the highest intelligence.

CONTROL: 7/10

Good. Makes use of the L and R buttons of the GBA, making the strafe technique more useful than ever. The only problem would be your rotation. Sometimes it's just at the wrong speed. You can't turn around fast enough, or maybe turn around too fast and miss your target.

REPLAY VALUE: 7/10

So many secrets to open up, so many Nazis to kill, so many episodes and stages, and so many difficulties to go through!

RENT OR BUY: Both.

Rent is first to see if you'll like it on the GBA. If you like it, then buy it.
