"A great first try for the DBZ series."

This is a great game for the first DBZ game ever to hit America since Bandai had control of DBZ. Lots of people have dissed this game, but what can you expect of a GBA title? Be happy that you even have a DBZ game to play. Without further a do,

Graphics: 8
The game has some pretty cool animations sequnces like the opening sequence. During play all the characters look as they should. They could of worked on the Ki attacks to make them look like they do in the show but it doesn't effect the game too much.

Controls: 9
Goku handles well and all the buttons are easy to memorize and well placed. Would have been nice if Goku could move and fly diaagonoly though.

Story: 7
If your a fan of the series then you'll be able to follow this game easily, otherwise it's pretty confusing. Since it only follows Goku you don't whats going on with the other characters and how certain things happen. They also skipped some key elements of the story line like when Gohan headbutts Radits or when Goku trains in the capsule on his way to Namek. This dissapointed me, being a fan of the series and all.

Gameplay: 7
Once again, for a GBA title it's ok. The fighting can get really boring after a while, because every opponent follows the same pattern of following you to try and hit you and sometimes shooting a Ki blast at you. Very predictable. Very boring after about one hour of play. Also flying should have played a much larger role then it did. Airial battles are a trademark of DBZ.

Sound: 10
A good beat keeps you going through the game, and the occational taking (mainly Goku) is recorded well. No complaints here.

Length: 5
The game is very short. Only lasting 5 hours tops with all side quests completed. This really bugged me since I was looking forward to a longer game. This could have been fixed if we were allowed to play as Gohan or Krillin on Namek.

Replay Value:
Not much here. Good if your board on a day with nothing to do. Once it's beat, it's beat.

Wrap Up:
Like I said, this is a good first try for the DBZ series. It is worth the money to buy it just to be able to say that you own a DBZ game from America. . Be happy and just wait untill a DBZ comes out on one of the bigger consoles (hopfully PS2!). Enjoy the game!
