"Crippity Crap Crap"

The more you liked DBZ (Dragon Ball Z), the more this game sucks.

Scores are out of 100
Gameplay: 15

As has been mentioned all over the place, the tutorial was written, not to teach you how to play, but to be simply told what to do and learn practically nothing. The cards are not out so you can glance at your hand and choose a card. The gameplay is VERY slow. The more you know about how to play DBZ:CCG, you will realize how this is really MUCH slower than with REAL cards. Real cards cost more money but if time=money then I'll take my time back and spend my money on cards that could be worth some money anyway.

Graphics: 25

Usually I give a GBA game good ratings on graphics. Not here. Text just blinks on the screen. And there was no flare, everything just kind of appeared and it's REALLY annoying when EVERY TIME you want to see one of your cards...you have to wait for it to spin a few times. This makes gameplay and creating a deck, a ROYAL pain in the backside. When I went go to enter my name, I had to mash the buttons several times just to get the poorly rendered Dragonball icon to appear. Over 300 cards are there, nice...you can see them all on the web as well. But most of the points here come from the cool box cover.

Sound/Bells/Whistles/Music: 10

They (Infogrames) didn't even try to make this sound good. Nearly all the sounds/music that were there...sounded like, you guessed it, crap. Please! Apparently the programmers weren't really into this project. I can't think of anything else to say about this because there wasn't much of anything sound/music-wise in this game.

Multi-player: 15

You can trade decks and play another slow moving game. It gets 15 pts because it's fun to play it for a few mins with a friend and slam the crap out of it.

Oh and the promo card...Red Overbearing attack common card...wow.

Pros

- If you MUST collect everything DBZ, then you already should have this game and not waste your time reading reviews. Yes this is collectible. But isn't everything material collectible?

- It has a cool box cover.

Cons

- Do I really have to go over this again?! Infogrames and everyone else involved didn't do much else but provide a sloppy portable database of 300+ DBZ cards.

The average score was around 16? Then how did this get 2/10? The game was only $30. Even though I hate this game, I have to give some props to any third-party who makes a game under $40. You get a boost to 2. That's still a failing grade. The DBZ game series jumped the shark after the SNES fighting game (which I thought was passing, but not great).

Pure crap. Unless you get a kick out of returning games or you don't feel obligated to collect EVERYTHING DBZ, get the **** away from this game. Ask to look at the box cover, and you will have everything you can get from this game.
