Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Review by LinksRevenge
"Annie's, Obi's, and Windu's Oh My!"
Graphics- The sprites look a lot like the actors. Anakin looks like Hayden Christensen, Obi-Wan looks like Ewan McGregor, Mace looks like Samuel L. Jackson, Jango looks like Temuera Morrison, and Zam looks like Leanna Wallsman. My only complaints about the graphics is that there are no shadows and because of that, everything looks pasted on.There are stills taken straight from the great movie. 2/2
Story- The game is based on the movie. It contains many spoilers if you have not seen this movie. The levels are really based on the movie. The story really is similar to the movie and shows parts not seen, like collecting keys to get to the Kamino Landing Platform. 1/2
Gameplay- This game is just plain difficult. The first level is very hard, but it gets better as you play. There is a password save system. There are 3 force powers that you can use: Force Jump, Force Push, and Super Force Push. You cannot run, which is annoying. If you die you must start from the beginning. The 3-D levels are quite neat. You get to side scroll, and pilot a speeder, Jedi Starfighter, and a Republic Gunship. You also get to fight a few bosses like Jango Fett and Count Dooku. You get to play as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu. One bad part is that the game has a mere 10 levels. I personally find that a dissapointment. 1/2
Sound- The music is great. On the title screen, you can hear the Imperial March. On each level, you can hear the great music composed by John Williams. Some tracks were not in the movie, but are still great sounding. 2/2
Replayability- There really isn't any replayability. You might consider there to be some if you like to play on each difficulty level. It might take you a while to beat it. 1/2
Buy or Rent?- It depends. If you like challenge and side scrolling, then go for it. I say you should rent it. That might be hard, since that it seems like Blockbusters are clearing out their GBA games.
Overall- This game is not a cheap cash-in on a major franchise. You might like it, or you might not. There are very few problems, which is very good. Like I mentioned before, it depends if you like this type of game. In some ways, this game is bad, but in other ways it is good. 7/10
