"This game has it's faults, but for a Tekken fan like myself..."

I was dead keen on buying this game at one point. Now I still think it's a great game, but I could take or leave buying it for myself. This is why.

REVIEW:

Graphics
9/10
The grapics for this game are, to say the least, very good. I saw the images on this site first, and my jaw dropped. Sure, they could be improved a little, and no doubt will be for the sequal, but for a first release game, not bad.

Gameplay
5/10
This was probably the thing that let the game down in my mind. I was looking for a Tekken Force Mode, or something similar to give the game more depth and challenge. Instead it's just VS. Mode after VS, Mode. Your supposed to be able to work through the game fighting every other character and earning the Mastwer Heihatchi Mishima, but this is incredibly easy and I finished the game the first time I attempted it. Admittedly this was not on the hardest setting but still, there seems to be something laking here that the good points of the game just don't make up for. Dissapointing.

Story
5/10
This is also poor. If I wasn't such an avid Tekken fan I wouldn't even say a storyline existed, which it doesn't, but if you've seen the animated feature, Tekken: The Motion Picture, then you start to understand the relationships between each of the characters. Unfortunately, this game does nothing to express those relationships and becomes just another Fighting Platform game with no depth. Weak and also dissapointing.

Sound Quality
6/10
Not bad but theres nothing to it. There's not that much more that they could do for this game in this category, and there's nothing wrong with it, it just gets repedetive very quickly. Still, no major complaints.

Replayability
10/10
This is my favourite bit about the game. The replayability can become somewhat lacking after you've been through the game a couple of times, but it is all made up for by the fabulous Multiplayer feature.
Multiplayer is great. There's little or no slowdown when playing against another Gameboy Advance, and the grapics are still as flashy as ever, so as long as you have another friend with this game and you have a Link Cable between you, then Replayability becomes an icredibly fun prspect. Well Done.

Overall
35/50
=70%
All up I give this game a 70% rating although it could easily be increased with a few small improvements. The Grapics and Sound need just that little bit more, and a Force Mode in the next one would make this one of the best games out for the GBA console.
