Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Review by Jamesbond315
"A bad game deserves a bad rating"
Harry Potter is very popular among the books, but what about the games? I thought it would be a bad game but I decided to buy it for fun. I was horrified when I played it. You probably want to know why, right? Well, Here is Some reasons.
Graphics: 4/10: Well, the graphics in my opinion pretty much suck. A lot of the places look exactly the same and the spells are also crappy. Just like the areas the spells don't look to good. If you are in a dark place you need to get a light just to tell where you are! Well, at least the people are drawn properly and not with a arm or leg missing.
Sound: 5/10: The sound wasn't to bad but I think they could of drowned out Harry's magic spells. They are so annoying and that's why I gave sound a 5/10. The music isn't very bad at some points but then again...that happy music is annoying.
Control: 12/20: WOW! something *good* about this game. No complicated controls and not to many bad things. The bad thing is you can't move when Harry casts a spell and that becomes a nuisance after a while. You can run any way and just left, right, up, and down. Easy to control? Probably
Game Play: 9/30: Now It starts to get crappy even more. Go to class and learn Dark Arts, yadda, yadda, yadda, go to potions class, yadda, yadda, yadda. You just mainly find 6 items of the same kind and it makes this game very boring.
Challenge: 7/15: Half-Half here. It should only take you a week or so, and that is without a strategy guide. With a guide it should only take around 4 days or so. Good game if you are going on vacation but if you want to just want to try and get past it for the hell of it, then it is boring.
Replay: 0/15: You are probably asking why I give this game a Hatred replay value. Well this is why. These are the things you can do after the game, Collect all 16 folio magi cards and get 600 house points. Sadly you can't really do any of this as you are stuck in the room with the last boss forever now. You have to find all the folio magi cards BEFORE you get past the game, and you can't even go back for them at all!!! Same with house points. I was about to barf at the putrid replay values.
So let's take a look,
Overall: 37/100. 37% out of 100%
Harry Potter is ok for beginners but for hard core gamers or even regular gamers, this game is a piece of cake. My 10 year old sister got past it in 1 week. I would not recommend this game to anyone over the age of 13. Actually, over the age of 11 because it is so easy.
Buy or Rent: I would rent to see how good the game is but you might not even want to play the game at all.
