"It's Zero's turn to shine!"

The MegaMan series has often disappointed me with not so great games. Although, MegaMan (or RockMan) Zero has gone a long way. I have to admit, I did not expect much from this game, boy I was wrong. This is by far the best MegaMan title to hit the GameBoy Advance. It is a must have for any GBA owner.

GAMEPLAY- 10/10
To start with, this is a very difficult game compared to the X series, but it still maintains an awesome gameplay. If you like challenging games, then you will love this one. The hero, Zero, utilizes four main weapons, (pistol, beam sword, spear, and shield) and they upgrade as you use them. I prefer this system over the previous MegaMans, its keeping it simple. The RPG-like feeling to the game puts it over the top.

STORY- 10/10
MegaMan Zero has a great plot. It continues off of the MegaMan X series, but this time Zero becomes the protagonist. Zero tries to reunite with X while he helps out Ciel (former scientist), in the battle against the Reploids. Cool, huh? Well anyway, if you must know what happens after MegaMan X6 then this is the cart for you.

CONTROLS- 9/10
The controls are great. It takes no time at all to learn, but some of the controls are awkward
such as the dash and wall climbing. Other than that, they are perfect. Nice and smooth.

GRAPHICS/SOUND- 10/10
MegaMan Zero offers awesome graphics and sound. You will notice it right when you flip the switch. The graphics are outstanding, and the characters look great. Everything is very detailed. RockMan Zero is nothing but quality, quality, quality. The sound is one of the best features, it might even be better then the previous PSX titles. The music really gets you going. The tunes combined with the graphics really give you the mood of the game.

REPLAY VALUE- 7/10
There is not a lot you can do after you beat the game, but beating the game again. That’s always fun right? With all the great features it’s worth playing again, and again, and again…

OVERALL- 10/10
This is not an average score, but I based this score mainly on the gameplay and the story (the more important aspects of the game.) Now, Should you rent or buy? I would have to say buy. Its worth every penny your purchasing it for. This game will keep you glued to the GBA for quite some time. What more can I say, go import it from Japan or go to your local game store and buy it ASAP! Like I said, it’s a must have.
