"Not as good as I expected..."

I finally got it. I was hoping to buy Bomberman Max: Red Challenger at Ben Franklin once, but unfortunately, they didn't have it anymore... So when I saw Bomberman Max 2: Red Advance for 15 dollars, I was on it like a fly on a turd. But unfortunately, the turd wasn't the best...

Graphics: 7/10
Good, but not great. The graphics are rather simple, but I enjoy the character designs, and I like the FMVish scenes (Like, the jump rope minigame). The levels seem pretty bland, but are pretty fun no matter what. Though, if you're looking for a game based on graphics, you ought to look elsewhere.

SFX: 7/10
Face it - GBA will always suffer from less-than-stellar sound. Not to say it's bad... It's just... Average. The SFX is just average. But I'm not picky. There's not much variety to the sound, though. -_-

Music: 7/10
Nice catchy tunes, but every once in a while, it can get monotonous (Like every game on the market).

Controls: 9/10
It's very simple. B is for special powers, start to pause, select to view your objective and save your game, A to lay down a bomb, and L/R are for selecting Charaboms. Since it's so simple, why did I give it a 19/20? Because of the extremely pressure sensitive L/R buttons.

Fun Factor: 7/10
Yeah, I gave it a low score. Why? The 1P is good, but unfortunately short. The best part is how mad you can get at the game when you get trapped, or if an enemy surrounds you. But, the ultimate burn was... THERE IS NO BATTLE MODE. Just some dumb Charabom battle. People might assume this thing is fun, but it ain't. You watch 2 Charaboms duel. Whoopdie doo. That was the ultimate burn...

Replay Value: 7/10
I couldn't find myself replaying this game. It's a very fun game, but unfortunately, sometimes I just say ''I can't wait until I finish this damn game!'' Don't buy this game for replay value or length. Buy it for the extremely fun 1P mode and the anger you'll feel.

Overall: 7/10
I hated giving this fun game such a low score. I loved it, but I also disliked it. The lack of a 2P mode was crap. I can't believe they would COMPLETELY eliminate the meat of the Bomberman series, and give us this stupid Charabom battle.

Buy, rent, or forget about it?
Flip a coin. If you play Bomberman for the multiplayer, think about getting Bomberman Tournament.
