NHL Hitz 20-03

"Average Hockey GBA Game."

I am actully hooked on this game, I got this game today and it's pretty good game but it still lacks some things but still a pretty good game, at first I thought this game would be bad. But, I guess I was wrong it was still a little good. Better than NFL Blitz 20-02 for GBA, Midway messed up there but they did do a little better at this game. This is based off the NHL Hitz 2003 for GC, PS2 & XBox. And Gameplay is similar to 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge for PSone and the Arcade. Now, Let's get on to the review.

Graphics 6/10

Graphics are not bad, pretty good has detailed charactors and the camera angle isn't top down like NHL 2002, it has Camera Angle similar to Blades of Steel for NES like it's near the side somewhat. Graphics are ok, they do look kinda scrachy like when I am having a boxing match it looks a little like a drawing of a 14 year old, heh.

Game Play 9/10

Game Play is pretty fun, even though there is only a season mode and a exibition, but there is also a Link mode where you can play against a friend or friends. If you can find a ny that have this game. Barely anyone at my school has a Game Boy Advance. This game is very similar to 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge for PSone/Arcade. You just shoot puck in the goal like any other hockey game so you know...

Controls 9/10

Nothing wrong with the controls, A is shoot, B is pass I think. And I do have trouble remembering about turbo R is turbo I keep forgetting to use it I should use it more often. The game is not that hard as well.

Sound 10/10

Best part of the game the sound is great like the intro theme sounds great. Also the announcer while you are playing saying THIN ICE and stuff, kinda repetitive but sort of funny but it will get annoying after a while though but he sounds great.

Overall 6/10

If you liked 2 on 2 open ice challenge then you might like this game very similar to it in some ways, i'm not much of a hockey fan but I like the games. I reccommend you renting or DL'ing the ROM before buying because you might not like it, if you don't like it there is still EA Sports's NHL 2002 to get.
