Robopon 2: Cross Version
Review by dimes
"Robot Pokemon, yet so much more."
What seems like a Pokemon clone shows itself to be an intriguing mix of adventure, combat, and customization. Though this game has the well used ''gotta catch (or build in this instance) 'em all ideology behind it, the amount of thought and detail that was put into this game brings it above and beyond some hand held RPG's.
Story 9/10
This Story picks up where the first Robopon games left off. You learn the fate of Dr. Zero and are sent off too the city of Majiko to participate in a large Robopon tournament, too bad that you forgot to bring your Robopon with you. Worse, your boat hits some bad weather on the way and you get washed out to sea. The game starts with your awakening in a far off village. Now you must build up your Robopon force and find out where you are...
Game play 10/10
The Game play is what makes this game! You create your own Robopon from various batteries you collect and spark together. Then you can further customize these Robopon with new equipment and software. You can even give them a variety of different colors.
Add the make strategies for bigger ones. You may also enhance your Robopon to further increase their individual powers. The battle controls make this game easy too learn and fun too master.
Graphics 10/10
This game make good use of the high quality hand held graphics that the Gameboy Advance can provide. The colors are bright and vivid, the animation is well done, and this game is an excellent graphical performance.
Sound 7/10
The sound quality is good, but not really anything to shout about. The music goes well with the game play. Hand held sound is rarely anything special, and this seems to be the case here.
Replay Value 8/10
This games main replay value lies in further building, upgrading, and customizing all of your Robopon. Mixing different batteries produces so many results that building every possible Robopon can take some time.
Overall 9/10
Overall I would have to give Robopon 2 a very good rating. This game allows for a large amount of control as too how you face your enemies. This game is definitely worth the money you'll pay for it. I would definitely tell anyone to encourage their other friends who have a Gameboy Advance to purchase this game as well; the link features are definitely worth while.
