Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters
Review by AngelKnight01
"An instant classic, not to be forgotten!"
When I got this game, I said, ''Well, it'll probably be fun.'' Boy, was I wrong. This game totally blew my head off. An instant classic, and very fun, too.
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics aren't the best on GBA, but they fit the game. When you summon a monster, it appears on the screen, a little fuzzy, but not too bad. The battle animations are pretty good, although some people think they suck, so they turn them off. All in all the graphics are a little fuzzy, so it lost two points.
Game play: 10/10
Boy, is this game fun! The game play is: You start on a 16x13 grid, with your Die Master (your little guy with your life on it,) on one end, and your opponents on the other. You choose three magical dice from your Dice Pool, and you roll them. There are 6 different types of Crests that you can roll from your dice. Summon Crests let you summon monsters, called Dimensioning the Dice. But you can't just roll one Summon Crest, you have to roll two. And you can't just roll two Summon Crests, you need to roll two Summon Crests on the same level. There are four levels, Lvl. 1, Lvl. 2, Lvl. 3, and Lvl. 4. The higher in levels you get, the harder monsters are to summon, and the stronger they are. When you Dimension a Die, the die can unfold into one of 10 different shapes. Movement Crests allow your monsters to move over tiles that have been Dimensioned already. Attack Crests allow you to attack your opponent's monsters and Die Master. Guard Crests allow you to take less damage from enemy attacks. Magic Crests allow you to activate magic abilities your monsters might have. And Trap Crests allow your monsters to activate traps on the board, like dodging attacks. The game play is awesome!
Controls: 10/10
The controls fit this game perfectly. A to select dice and other things, B to cancel, R to rotate the dice when you Dimension it, L to call up data on monsters and items, Start to advance to the title screen and switch shapes in the Dimensions, and Select to switch shapes when Dimensioning.
Replay Value: 10/10
Almost limitless replay value on this game, as there are about 20 tournaments, and whenever you beat someone in a tournament, you unlock them in Free Battle mode, where you can beat them again to get more rare dice.
Overall: 10/10
This game is awesome, plain and simple. If you are a fan of strategy RPGs, strategy games, or real time stratgies, get this game! It's also great for anyone, and if you want a game that you can just pick up and play anytime, get it!
