Turbo Turtle Adventure
Review by Black Glasses
"A game that is challenging, entertaining, and great fun!"
Turbo Turtle, a game that definitely provided me with fun gameplay, tough puzzles, and a good time.
Gameplay & Control - 38/40
Control is definitely a big issue in a lot of games. Bad controls and frustrating movement make the game a lot less fun. This game has almost none of that. The controls are easy, and the movement of Turbo Turtle isn't that difficult, which make the levels fun, while still challenging. The objective in each level is to guide Turbo Turtle to the ending point, without falling into gaps or having time run out. However, blocking your way are gaps, electric fields, locked doors, and more! To overcome these obstacles, Turbo Turtle needs to collect keys, special shells, jumping power ups, and even ground to build paths to new places! Turbo Turtle also has a turbo mode (of course), and if you choose to put him in that, he goes faster, making it easier to beat the time limit, and making him jump farther. To sum it up, the levels are very fun and enjoyable, and they'll make you think, too!
Graphics - 30/30
This game has beautiful graphics, which add to the enjoyability of playing it. Bad graphics in games may actually cause you to think an object is something it's not (it's happened to me, I'm serious), and it's very unappealing and disappointing when a game has graphics like that. Turbo Turtle is exactly the opposite. Everything is distinct and clear, and a lot of extra scenery has been added to make the levels look more real. From the fish and bubbles in lagoon levels, to the falling leaves in woodland levels, the graphics definitely stand out as something amazing.
Music & Sound - 19/20
Wow! This game's music and sound is excellent. I hate it when music gets repetitive and the sounds constantly get annoying. This game keeps those annoyances to a very low minimum. The music lasts long enough for the time limit to run out, so if you were to play a level without dying once, the music wouldn't ever repeat. Even if the music did repeat, I would not mind, because the music isn't annoying. The tunes in this game are very good, and I like them a lot. The sound is also very realistic, and probably won't get on your nerves at all. The way I see it, the only bad thing about the music is when it ends.
Replayability & Extras - 8/10
Although the moment you finish this game, you may not be eager right away to start another save file, you probably will want to play this game again sometime in the future. I think it has some replay value to it. Also, the extras in this game are nice. In the top right hand corner is a picture of Turbo Turtle, and his face and body will react to the actions you do with him in the game. Like when you get an important item, Turbo Turtle gets a bigger smile, when you equip a certain shell, it displays it, or when you fall, Turbo Turtle gets a surprised look and he disappears from the box! Although not necessary, it is fun to glance at every now and then. Just goes to show that the game goes beyond just the necessities, and has a lot of extras to make it more appealing.
Overall - 95/100: 10/10
I have rated this great game 10/10, it deserves it.
Buy, Rent, or Not Even Try? - Buy!
This game is definitely one to buy. You can replay it and it's still fun, and it's not the priciest game in the world. Trust me, chances are you will not regret buying this game!
