Robopon 2: Cross Version
Review by ChronoGearsFantasy
"A great Pokemon-clone"
Let's just say that I was a little skeptical about this game. The first thing I heard about this game was that it's just a crappy pokemon clone. My opinion is that it is so much more than that.
Story: 9/10
Overall I'd say the plot develops like any other RPG. I found it to be a little lacking of story but it's just a GBA rpg and shouldn't have all the melodrama of the console ones. It was lacking but you should remember the purpose of the game throughout.
Graphics: 8/10
These are run of the mill first-gen GBA graphics. Not crappy but not mindblowing either. The robots look really cool but some are pretty stupid too. Overall, the game is decent looking. I won't even get started on the Main Character. I could swear that he's wearing a bucket on his head.
Sound: 9/10
The music wasn't great but i found myself humming along at parts and the battle music is better than most. I really like some parts of game's music. Overall, it could have been better with more selection but it was great while it lasted.
Gameplay: 9/10
The menus are done good and the battle menus are fun too. I liked the simplicity of the game but there are some draw backs. Likely while creating new robots, you will create gears more times than you want to. Also, during the beginning of the game, their are very few spots where you will get enough experience points that make playing the game necessary. There is nothing like facing 4 very hard opponents that take you within an inch of your health left, only to get 12 experience points. By the way, I love the 4 robots in battle at once.
Replay Value: 8/10
I think it as maybe a 2/10 but that would bring the whole game down. somepeople may want to get everytype of robot and its a good choice. Many of the robots are very well designed and look nice. Its like pokemon in that even tho they aren't all good, you should collect them, just to see them all.
OVERALL: 9/10
Great Game=Lots of fun and time wasted. Everyone deserves to play this and get out of the pokemon games and delve into a different world.
Rent or Buy:
Buy, I don't even think it's available for rent, but its a great game.
