Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters
Review by SSJMikes
"A good game, if you have enough patience...."
Introduction: You play ''Dungeon Dice Monsters'' in tournaments, one on one with CPU(when you beat the certain computer character at least once...), or link. Based on the couple of episodes shown about Yugi playing against the creator or Dungeon Dice Monsters.
Gameplay: 7/10 The idea of the game was pretty good after seeing it on TV when there was nothing else to watch and was somewhat excited about playing this game. Well, I didn't like it a lot...It's fun to play when you have the patients to sit there hoping to get 2 summoning crests, which takes forever. It's not too hard if you have some good monsters, but if you have too many high level dices, you'll have a huge chance of losing because it takes forever to get a monster to defend you. The controls are simple, A is to select something, B is to cancel something. R moves through your monsters in battle. L gives info on the monster in battle. Select does nothing. Start does the same thing as A on the normal menu, and gives you the menu when you are in battle. I haven't tried link, but I think it'll just make you and your friend bored out of your mind. With all the time it takes to finish a fight. The fights aren't even exciting! Nothing happens except you win a tourney or get a dice or character.
Story: 6/10 There isn't much of a story, you play Dungeon Dice Monsters against other people in tournaments.....boring... You many play through tournaments to beat other people to be able to play them in a normal battle rather than a tournament. Whenever, you beat someone you receive a dice.
Graphics/Sound: 5/10 The graphics are horrible compared to the games like Golden Sun, Lunar Legends, Tactics Orge, etc. The sounds are also horrible. I hate them so much I listen to my stereo instead with headphones. They could have made the two so much better, but they didn't really care. The are a little messed up like in a few of the older SNES games, which makes you feel as if they sent this game out without testing it...
Play Time/Replayability: 6/10 The game doesn't really end because you can keep doing tournaments over and over. The game gets so boring though that you put it down after an hour. If you have enough patience for this game then there would be a replay value, but if you're like me, go play an RPG or something instead.
Final Recommendation: This game is a definite RENT. You will get tired of this game pretty fast on go to some other game quicker. If you receive this as a gift, return it, there are so many better games out there.
Final Score: 6/10 Why such a high score? They had a good idea, but didn't give a complete thought to pull it all together. They tried, but failed and I think they should just stick to the card game.
