Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters
Review by Rat Guy
"One of the best Yu-Gi-Oh! games out there."
Gameplay -
This game is not for the person who is not familiar with the Yu-Gi-Oh! series or the cartoon. In fact, it doesn't even come with a tutorial that you can play to learn the ropes of the game! But, fear not. It is still fun. It is a game similar to regular Duel Monsters, but is different because you use dice instead of cards. The objective of the game is to roll dice to summon a monster, while rolling and collecting ''crests'' (for movement, attacking, defense, traps, and magic). You put the monsters on the fields, gradually making your way across your opponent's dungeon and attack his/her ''Heart point'' when you attack it three times, you win!
Story -
You are a student in Yugi Moto's class and you are fighting a series of duels to gain new dice and to collect money...Don't really expect anything more, because that is the reason for playing the game. Just go around beating people up on the dueling field.
Audio/Video -
Don't expect much from the audio and video from this game. To tell you the truth, it's pretty lame. It has a few songs that change style at different points in the game. However, the sound effects are better, with different sounds when you attach and use special abilities. Also, the monsters are very scrunched together and it is almost impossible to tell which is which. Basically, it has the sound and video of a regular SNES or other GBA game.
Replayability -
The replayability factor in this game is high. Every game is different and the moves are randomly generated. You can duel any person at any point in time and get a completely different game. There is also a chance to receive (win or buy) new dice to get better monsters or crests. So, you can change your dice any time and not know if you'll win or lose.
To buy or to rent?
Definitely a buy. It may be kind of lame, but you can expect to want to play this game over and over again. So, go out and have some fun because if you rent this game (if you can) you will be missing a lot of the Yu-Gi-Oh! experience.
Overall, I give this game an 8 out of 10.
