Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards
Review by TimeWizard
"Finally, a YGO game with a story from the series"
Intro-
You probably know what Yu-Gi-Oh! is so no point in explaining that. This game is a typical Yu-Gi-Oh!, it has the cards and all the other stuff, but the thing that makes this game different than its other GBA counterpart is its based on a part of the series. The duel rules also have a strange twist to it. The setting is in battle city and you are some kid that is a friend of Jonouchi and Yugi. Thats where it starts anyways.
Gameplay- 8
Just like a normal RPG, Direction button to move, B to cancle, A is to comfirm and talk to people. R and A is to challenge someone to a duel. There are many charcters you can challenge, from easy people like Honda to harder opponents like Malik. The duels have the same controls as when you are not dueling, except the R and A thing. The duels are different than the others GBA YGO games. As you may have known there is a small changes to the rules. There are still tributes. Some of the cards have changed though. One change I noticed is Metalmorph's effect. Its still a great game though, I like the TCG rule better.
Graphics- 9
The graphic's in this game is very well done. Since this is battle city there are sites that you may see from the show that is in the game. Some places are Grandpa's Kame Game Store, the fountain, and the park. The characters from the show are also in the game. Whenever you talk to them their picture is shown. The only flaw I see are the duels, the picture of the cards aren't as detailed as they could be.
Music- N/A
I can't hear the music so I'm not going to count it.
Sound- 6
One thing I remember about the sound is the characters talking. The diaalogue isn't long though, its very short, mostly one word. The quality of the sound isn't very good. One word I can always remember the part when Yugi says,''Jonouchi, I love you!''
Replayability- 4
This game has low replay value since its so long. By the end of the game you should already have the 3 strongest cards in the game. I know I'm not going to play it again.
To Rent or To Buy-
If you are a big fan of YGO then you should by this, unless you don't like the new rules, everyone else, definitely should buy.
