"Fun.....But not great"

I will be doing this review in categories...graphics, sound, gameplay, control, and overall fun. I am a fan of the Worms series, and you must be to play this game properly, I will get into that with the review of the game...Please read on:

Graphics: 5/10, There is not much to look at here, they are very straight-forward. They do not match up with the computer version of Worms World Party, but what do you expect, the gameboy advance is not a computer, and shouldnt be expected to perform like one. The worms should move around more though, they're in a war after all, some facial expressoins would have been nice. The Graphics are very average. The levels look O.K. But the backgrounds are very pixelated.

Sound: 4/10, grrr is all i have to say here. They music is ok. The music is standard techno gba music, nothign special at all. The voices and sound effects get on my nerves. They are repetitive and play often. There is one seagull sounding sound effect in particular that just goes right through me, CAW CAW CAW CAW CAW. sometimes the sound effects overshadow the music becasue they are loud. They can be turned off, THANK GOD!!!

Gameplay: 7/10, Ok now lets get to teh positive of this game. WWP is an overall good game. There are single player modes (missions, quick start death matches). But they dont really matter, the real fun is the mulitplayer, you can just pass the gameboy advance around to four of your buddies to have a worms world war!!! On a negative note, there is NO SAVE FEATURE!!!!! this is horrible and made the score go down 3 points. All of the missions you complete, all of the skill levels you assign to teams, and all of the settings you set are set back to default once you turn it off.

Control: 10/10, very easy to control weapons, move worms, navigate through menus and weapon selectoin. However the worms jumping is bad, but thats not a fault of the gba, its always been like that since the first worms game.

Overall Fun: 7/10, the game IS a fun game, but you really have to like the series to like the gba game. The only drawbacks are the some of the graphics and the sounds, but the rest of the game good.

So in conclusion, If you want a portable war in you pocket, go pick up worms world party. But remember war is never really pretty, and either is this game.
