Wolfenstein 3D
Review by BlackhawkX
"Same as the PC version, which means it's still awesome!"
Ahh, First Person Shooters. Gotta love em. But have you ever wondered where it all started? That's right. Wolfenstein 3D! This great PC game was the biggest thing to hit the video game market in the early 1990s. Now it's on GBA!
Difficulty-8/10
With 4 different skill levels(each with some slightly odd names), the difficulty really can very. I'm basing this rating on the Normal(Bring it on), by the way. You won't run out of ammo very often, but there are sometimes mobs of enemies that can overwhelm you. Also, the three-armed Nazis(I know, weird O_o) can deal some good damage, so that is where most of the difficulty comes from.
Sound-3/10
The sound is pretty bad. You can't make out what the solders say most of the time, and when you can, it's in German. They also sometimes scream like a girl when you shoot them. There is no music, and the few sound affects are horribly cheesy.
Gameplay-9/10
Not much wrong here. The controls are so simple, my baby brother could understand them. There are a few drawbacks though. You can't hold more than 99 rounds of ammo, and it's shared with all guns. The bosses take almost no strategy whatsoever. All you really need to do is whip out your Chaingun and hold down A until he falls. The stages are sometimes maze like, and you get lost very easily too. There is not much else wrong with this game.
Graphics-7/10
I don't think the graphics are any different than the PC version, which means they are simple, but suitable.
Storyline-9/10
You are William J. ''B.J.'' Blazkowiczan, and you have a mission. Infiltrate a Nazi base and find information on ''Operation Eisenfaust''. You are captured, and sent to a prison camp. You need to escape the camp, then continue and complete your mission while eradicating and resistance.
Relpay value- Moderately high
4 difficulty levels, and tons of secrets make this game fun to run through even if it's your 5th time. You also get bonuses if you beat a stage under a certain time, so that gives you another reason to try again.
Buy or rent- Buy
You can rent it and beat it in a week easy, but you probably wont get all of the secrets and such. Buy it, and you will have all the time in the world to play it. This is one of those games you play years after you buy.
Overall- 9/10
Not much else, just the same old Wolfenstein, but with a smaller screen.
